The Reds have lost five and drawn two of their opening 13 Premier League matches and are now 13
points adrift of Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Following their defeat to Chelsea, I read a couple of articles writing off Manchester United's
title hopes. This feels absurdly early to me, so ahead of this weekend's Premiership matches here
are 4 reasons why I reckon Manchester United will be lifting the Premier League title in May
2010.

Chris Hughton claims that the team's focus was the key to Newcastle United's win over Peterborough
yesterday. Cardiff lost away to derby rivals Swansea and West Brom managed to beat promotion
hopefuls Leicester, which means a bit of a gap has opened up between the top 2 and the chasing
back. After the game, Hughton said: "We have [.

What a tumultuous ten weeks it has been. When the season kicked off, even the most
Italian-friendly pundits were predicting that this season, dubbed 'Year Zero' by the AC Milan fans,
would be the dullest season in Italian history.
But it is now clear how wrong that prediction was. In the first two games of the season, most
predictions were proven true as AC Milan were pummelled 4-0 by rivals Inter Milan, while Roma
slumped to two successive defeats and Genoa and Juve both played with style.

Carlo's ‘cross' with the defence. What do Abdoulaye Faye, Titus
Bramble, James Collins, and Richad Dunne have in common? They've all scored
against Chelsea from crosses into the box. Totaling half of Chelsea's goals
conceded for the season, 8 in 8 matches, Carlo Ancelotti must address his teams
crossing deficiency before their title challenge resumes against high-flying, Lancashire derby
winners, Blackburn.

Promoted Championship teams entering the Premier League transition in different ways. Some
settle straight away and show why they belong in the league. Others take longer and end up
struggling to survive, battling in the relegation flight. Then there are the special cases: teams
that surprise everyone and do extremely well with relegation not even a factor to consider during
their first season; or conversely they are completely out of their league and winning is not a
realistic goal.

Before the climax, the anticlimax. Battered beyond the point of collapse by Roma's thug tactics,
we crawled toward the end of the league season leaving bloody handprints all over the linoleum. If
we won just one of our two remaining matches against Atalanta and Bologna, 16th and 14th in Serie A
we'd win the title, but we were in no shape to practice, much less to play a competitive game.

SO finally we have some juicy news to get our collective teeth into. But firstly, FP should mention
that Perth Glory winger Adriano Pellegrino will be doing a live chat today from 1.30pm (WST) on the
West Online.
Now this sounds pretty cool, but it'll be interesting to see how it works, and more importantly,
whether there is a good response from the fans – but knowing the Perth Glory faithful, FP is sure
that shouldn't be a problem.

Men against boys. A strange way to describe the FA Youth Cup final but that is how it seemed as
Liverpool's U18 were outplayed by Arsenal in the 4-1 first leg defeat.
The relative ease with which Arsenal racked up that victory leaves very little hope for today's
second leg. And it seems to have killed off much of the hype surrounding Liverpool's current batch
of hopefuls.

Former Holland manager Marco van Basten gave voice to very strong feelings concerning Ryan Babel,

wasting away at Anfield as a consequence of leaving his homeland too early

told the Daily Star Sunday.
