In many ways, the election is divided into two groups. The first is one that represents a sort of status quo, candidates that have been on the business side and are looking to continue to build on U.

Paul Caligiuri, Kathy Carter, Carlos Cordeiro, Steve Gans, Kyle Martino, Hope Solo, Michael Winograd, and Eric Wynalda are all officially in the running for the upcoming election after completing a background check and receiving a letter of nomination from three organization members.

Sports Illustrated reported Thursday that U.S. Soccer will honor the longtime USWNT goalkeeperfor her 200 senior appearances when the U.S. takes on Denmark on January 21. Solo currently has 202 caps, and has not yet announced her retirement from international soccer.
