Two players dominate the non-existent honours in this week's Argentines Abroad. On Sunday both
Lionel Messi and the under-pressure Gonzalo HiguaÃn hit hat tricks to ensure that Spain's top two
continue to fight neck and neck at the top of La Liga. Messi's triplete against Valencia began with
a brilliant solo goal, whilst HiguaÃn's came [.

As Daryl posted earlier in the day, Wayne Bridge has removed himself from the England pool. I
can definitely understand, it might be a bit painful being around your ex-teammate who hooked up
with your baby-mama for a whole month. Aside from the inner-turmoil which is certainly making
custody negotiations awkward for the Bridge family as we speak, and the invention of the wonderful
chant "Mrs.

What about Liverpool? Their abject defeat at the hands of Reading was their twelfth yes 12th a
dozen defeat this season. Gillette and Hicks must be cursing the generosity of Rafa's
contract...
Because if it wasn't a potential cost of £20m he would surely be fired by now. Not to knock his
achievements up to this season; a Champions League win, a loss in another final, and what should
have been a Premier League triumph last season but he has taken the club as far as he can.

Doherty: Will he make it?
A new decade has crept up from seemingly nowhere, just as most of us are still getting used to
the idea of a new millennium. At moments like this, we turn to reminisce of the ten years that have
passed and reflect on times gone by. Picking an XI of Premier League players for these ten years
seems like an unenviable task.

In 2002 – for reasons that were probably only clear to a small group of lawyers hired by the
European Union – football transfers were confined to two windows of opportunity each year.
The official line from the technocrats was that it was done to simplify the transfer process and
bring most of the major European leagues in line with each other.

The draw for the knockout stages of the Champions League threw up some interesting games.
Arguably the highlight of the round sees Jose Mourinho return to Chelsea when his Inter Milan take

This is a really tough draw for Inter and Mourinho who will be facing the club that he them to
two league titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups.

is the dynamic Scarborough native's fourth time on the year end honours and the third club he has

While De Rosario is enough of a fan favourite, mostly from being local, it is fair to say that his
star has yet to rise to high enough levels in Toronto.

I think it is fairly safe to say things are not going to plan at Real Madrid's Santiago

In all fairness they're only a point behind Barca but the Real hieracrhcy are known for being a
bit trigger happy when it comes to managers.

It's been over 20 years since Liverpool last lost four games in a row and it is
time for some changes at Anfield. Rafa Benitez has enjoyed a big support from the fans even though
he did little to deserve it but it is more than clear he has taken this team as far as he could.
He's had his ups and downs at Liverpool but for the team that should be fighting for honours to
lose four games in a row is simply inexcusable.

A soon to be out of contract player who could be a very wise addition to the Gunners squad.
Barcelona have shown very little respect for our great club in their dogged and annoying pursuit

move for one of their soon to be out of contract stars would be an intelligent signing and as well
as a big 'up yours' to the Catalan side for good measure.
