Trinidad and Tobago has named their training squad in preparations for the Olympic qualifying coming up in March. Sporting KC defender, Daneil Cyrus has been named to the TnT squad that is currently training in Port of Spain in Trinidad. This may seem a little preemptive, but the American Outlaws are selling tickets in the Supporters Section for the semifinals and finals of the Olympic qualifiers at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park on March 31st and April 2nd. The tickets are $30 for AO members and $35 for non-members. No word yet from Sporting KC on whether season ticket holders will get a chance at a presale for the game as well or not.

The United States Under-23 national team found out who it would play during the group stage of Olympic qualifying earlier in the week, and now it knows when it will play each of its opponents.

The U.S. team will open qualifying against Cuba on March 22, followed by a meeting with Canada two days later and a final group game against El Salvador on March 26.

The United States drew a favorable path to the semifinals of CONCACAF Olympic qualifying on Tuesday, getting put in Group A with Canada, Cuba and El Salvador. Group A's games will take place at LP Field in Nashville, Tenn. The full schedule for the qualifying tournament will be released later this week, according to CONCACAF.

I particularly like his post on the type of football that he likes and doesn't like. If you understand Spanish, it will be worth your time reading the posts and even if you don't, he uses fairly standard Spanish so a machine translation would be sufficient.

Roger Espinoza has started the offseason fairly busy. Espinoza played yesterday for the Honduran national team as they took on Serbia in a friendly in Honduras. Espinoza started and went the full 90 minutes in Honduras' 2-0 win over their fellow World Cup 2010 qualifier. Honduras scored their first goal in the 4th minute through Georgie Welcome.

It appears that two Sporting KC players will be playing this weekend. Roger Espinoza was apparently called up by Honduras for their friendly on Monday against Serbia. The call up was made before KC's season ended and I've been unable to find any updates since the initial roster was released on the 2nd of November stating whether Espinoza was still participating or not.

Today Sporting KC confirmed what I'd posted about yesterday. LIVESTRONG Sporting Park will be hosting semifinals and finals of Olympic qualifying. The first round of games will be in Carson, CA at the Home Depot Center and in Nashville, TN at LP Field March 22nd through the 27th. KC will host the semifinals on the 31st and the final on April 2nd.

Panama clinched Central America's third and final berth for CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying with a 1-1 draw against Costa Rica. The two met Nov. 3 at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Panama won 3-2 on aggregate after a 2-1 win in the first leg at home in Panama City Oct. 26.

Panama grabbed a 2-1 lead over Costa Rica following the first leg of the Central American playoff for the region's third and last berth in the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying finals. Costa Rica will return home to Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela on Nov. 3 for the second leg.
