Who can wait a month? I had to speculate the pots and make my own groups:

CONCACAF held its draw for the Champions League quarterfinals on Tuesday and the draw will pit
defending MLS Cup champion Columbus Crew against Mexican League power Toluca.
Columbus was eliminated from the MLS playoffs by Real Salt Lake in the first round, but will
kick off 2010 in March with a home-and-home quarterfinal series against Toluca.
According to Spanish daily MARCA, the bowls for the World Cup final draw have already been
arranged. Now, the arrangements are pending approval by the FIFA Executive Committee, and MARCA
tends to be wrong quite a bit, so take this with some grains of salt. Given all that, the
composition of the bowls is the following: Seeds (Bowl 1): South Africa, Brazil, Spain, Italy,
Germany, Argentina, England, France (if they beat Ireland) Bowl 2: the remaining UEFA teams Bowl 3:
the CAF/CONMEBOL teams Bowl 4: the AFC/CONCACAF teams (Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Australia,
New Zealand, USA, Mexico, Honduras) The. Click to continue reading...

Costa Rica's new coach Rene Simoes has had a mixed bag of results. The Ticos beat his old team,
Trinidad and Tobago handily, 4-0. The USA were able to claw back a draw against them with Jonathan
Bornstein's equalizer (which made him a hero in Honduras) at RFK stadium.
However, the Ticos suffered a setback at home against Uruguay in the playoffs to decide the
World Cup spot between the 4th placed CONCACAF and 5th placed CONMEBOL teams.

Cameroon and Nigeria have guaranteed a spot in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa today.
Cameroon beat Morroco 2-0 (second goal by Eto'o) and Nigeria beat Kenya 3 2.
So far 26 countries are going to South Africa next June: Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Chile,
Mexico, USA, Honduras, Netherlands, Spain, England, Germany, Denmark, Serbia, Italy, Slovakia,
Switzerland, South Korea, North Korea, Japan, Australian, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Cameroon,
New Zealand and South Africa.
Going against what this writer wanted, New Zealand became the 24th nation with a ticket for
South Africa by beating Bahrain at home. The only goal of the match was scored by Rory Fallon in
the final moments of the first-half. The first-leg of this playoff ended 0-0, which gave Bahrain
the chance of qualifying with a draw different from the nil one.

future of American Soccer.
Richard Farley who has been a guest many times on the MLS Talk Podcast with Kartik Krishnaiyer
was gracious enough to allow me to share my thoughts on the game here in the USA.
For the second game in a row, Honduras held their own at the U-17 World Championships in Nigeria.
Unfortunately, for the second time in a row they lost, this time to the host team by the minimum.
The match told the tale of a Honduran side that were organized in the back but couldn't generate
sustained possession in their opponent's half. Click to continue reading...

' Me and my friends want to make history, we want to change the way people see Africa'. These
are the words of influential Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba. I guess by now there is no need in
saying the world cup is coming to Africa. However, i am still going to say it. The world cup is
