It appears U.S. men's national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann is making a concentrated effort
to get to know CONCACAF teams prior to World Cup qualifying.
According to a report, the United States will travel to Canada to take on its northern rival in
a friendly before World Cup qualifying begins in June.

The former Man in Red may be a part of the Fire's future. Honduran websites El Heraldo and La
Prensa are repoting that former Fire midfielder Ivan Guerrero is training with the Fire at their
pre-season camp in Ave Maria, Florida. La Prensa also claimed Guerrero was "very close" to signing
with the Fire.

Sporting KC vs LA game time changed
Sporting KC's match up with LA on April 7th at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park has changed times and
stations. Yesterday the team announced that the game would now kick off 1 hour earlier at 3pm
Central time.
This game against Panama represents the USA's first friendly match on Central American soil since
March 25, 1993, a 4-1 loss to Honduras in Tegucigalpa. So why now?
"We wanted to take the players out of their comfort zone and give them a different experience,"
said U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

After months of stagnating, the U.S. men's national team is back on the rise in the FIFA
rankings, although barely.
The United States improved one spot to No. 33 in the latest rankings after having spent the last
three months at the No.
The United States moved up one place to 33rd in the January 2012 FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.
Mexico stays 21st, remaining first overall in CONCACAF. Spain remains the World #1, with Holland,
Germany, Uruguay, and England rounding out the top five. Elsewhere in CONCACAF, Panama moves up to
47th and Honduras is 51st.
Reports this morning out of Honduras were that two Real Espana players would be on trial with
MLS teams. This evening Goal.com's Spanish language MLS subsite reported those two players are Ever
Alvarado and Gutierrez Harlinton who will be with the Seattle Sounders. Alvarado, as previously
noted, is a young left back who Diez.

Trinidad and Tobago has named their training squad in preparations for the Olympic qualifying
coming up in March. Sporting KC defender, Daneil Cyrus has been named to the TnT squad that is
currently training in Port of Spain in Trinidad. The team is preparing to be in Group B of Olympic
qualifying with Honduras, Panama, and Mexico in Los Angeles which begins on March 22nd.
This may seem a little preemptive, but the American Outlaws are selling tickets in the Supporters
Section for the semifinals and finals of the Olympic qualifiers at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park on
March 31st and April 2nd. The tickets are $30 for AO members and $35 for non-members. No word yet
from Sporting KC on whether season ticket holders will get a chance at a presale for the game as
well or not.

The United States Under-23 national team found out who it would play during the group stage of
Olympic qualifying earlier in the week, and now it knows when it will play each of its
opponents.
The U.S. team will open qualifying against Cuba on March 22, followed by a meeting with Canada
two days later and a final group game against El Salvador on March 26.

Tuesday, getting put in Group A with Canada, Cuba and El Salvador. Group A's games will take place
at LP Field in Nashville, Tenn. The full schedule for the qualifying tournament will be released

I particularly like his post on the type of football that he likes and doesn't like. If you
understand Spanish, it will be worth your time reading the posts and even if you don't, he uses
fairly standard Spanish so a machine translation would be sufficient.

Practice had a calm, almost stoic feel to it for the Houston Dynamo Friday on the fields near
the main Home Depot Center stadium.

States will open its campaign in Group A with a home game against Antigua & Barbuda on June 8,
2012.
Roger Espinoza has started the offseason fairly busy. Espinoza played yesterday for the Honduran
national team as they took on Serbia in a friendly in Honduras. Espinoza started and went the full
90 minutes in Honduras' 2-0 win over their fellow World Cup 2010 qualifier. Honduras scored their
first goal in the 4th minute through Georgie Welcome.

It appears that two Sporting KC players will be playing this weekend. Roger Espinoza was apparently
called up by Honduras for their friendly on Monday against Serbia. The call up was made before KC's
season ended and I've been unable to find any updates since the initial roster was released on the
2nd of November stating whether Espinoza was still participating or not.

Today Sporting KC confirmed what I'd posted about yesterday. LIVESTRONG Sporting Park will be
hosting semifinals and finals of Olympic qualifying. The first round of games will be in Carson, CA
at the Home Depot Center and in Nashville, TN at LP Field March 22nd through the 27th. KC will host
the semifinals on the 31st and the final on April 2nd.
Panama clinched Central America's third and final berth for CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying with a 1-1
draw against Costa Rica. The two met Nov. 3 at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa
Rica. Panama won 3-2 on aggregate after a 2-1 win in the first leg at home in Panama City Oct.

Honduras and El Salvador round out the group of qualifiers from Central America.
FC Politehnica Timişoara forward Tosaint Ricketts (UW-Green Bay) will continue his run
with the Canadian national team, as he was called into camp for the team's final two second-round
CONCACAF World Cup 2014 qualifiers against St. Kitts and Nevis.
Canada (3-0-1) needs just one point out of the two games against the tiny Caribbean country to
win Group D and advance to a third-round qualifying group with Honduras, Panama and Cuba.
Panama grabbed a 2-1 lead over Costa Rica following the first leg of the Central American playoff
for the region's third and last berth in the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying finals. Costa Rica will
return home to Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela on Nov. 3 for the second leg.
Both teams are looking to join fellow Central American neighbors El Salvador and Honduras, as well
as automatic qualifiers Canada, Mexico and the United States in next year's eight-team finals.
