He may not be getting the starts he hoped, but our new(ish) Brazilian appears to be impressed with
what he has seen so far:
"I would definitely like to remain longer, the project to make this club one of the best in
Europe and the world cannot be completed in six months or a year and I would like to be part of it
for as long as possible.

So first off many apologies vis-a-vis the lack of match preview. I was in Dallas for a rugby
tournament all weekend (my team is going to nationals!) and I had so much homework Thursday I
couldn't do it (I got an hour and a half of sleep on Thursday). Also I'm aware this is a wee bit
late, but I only got home about an hour ago.

Sir Alex Ferguson's long-suffering wife Cathy must have rolled her eyes when she saw her husband
packing a DVD of United's Champions League final defeat by Barcelona on their summer holiday. But
you don't become one of the greatest club managers of all time by not doing your homework and
Fergie's attention to detail cannot be underestimated.

Raise your hand if you've worried about how much your kids do in a given year and if you are
ruining their lives. Come on you over there. As soccer season kicks off and schedules get busier,
it's a common concern. Joel Maners passed on a recent article in the Wall Street Journal that
debunks the common belief that our kids are over scheduled:
we have some data about how kids spend their hours.

Persisam Samarinda, nicknamed the Borneo Eagles, have expressed an interest in Chonburi's
international keeper Kosin Hathairattanakool.
The newly promoted side already have former Persita keeper Wawan Darmawan plus a couple of others
but coach Aji Santoso is keen to bring in one more.
I would humbly suggest however Persisam do some homework about Thailand.

Apparently, it's going to happen by the end of this season. According to Emmanuel Adebayor
anyway.
"I don't think it will be long before we are the top team in Manchester," he told the News of
the World. "People talk about it being in a year's time, but I have the belief it can be this
season.

Well, for many reasons, but as a starting point because we flew to Dulles and not Reagan National.
Also, we shared a plane with Haiti. Really nothing interesting to report there. They were first to
board and sat in the back, the U.S. team sat in the front, and we're not sure a word was exchanged.
Mostly because everyone slept the majority of the flight, which last about four hours and change.

Here I am, 24 days after my last part of last's season review, putting down some thoughts about
all the news we read about in the last month. I didn't have much to write about lately so I
preferred to stay quiet and let the rest of the team update you guys with news and transfer
rumours. But today, I want to share some thoughts with you, plenty of them actually.

You don't become the No. 1-ranked team in the world without doing your homework, and you can be
sure Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosque is reminding his team about last year's match. While we can't
be sure of what he's telling his charges, Spanish press seems to have their own ideas about how to
beat us.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck told
Chelsea TV,
"We expect three or four players to leave and three or four players to come in.
"We would like to fund those purchases with the transfer fees we receive but, having said
that, if the right player comes along, even if he's an expensive player, Roman is willing to do
what if it makes sense for Chelsea Football Club.

Everton manager David Moyes is determined to try and find out everything he can about prospective
new summer signings.
Moyes has prided himself on building a tight-knit unit at Goodison Park and doesn't want to bring
in anyone who would upset the applecart.

"Valencia were an implacable steamroller. They were like boxers who pinned their opponents to the
rope and wouldn't stop until they had annihilated them. The tremendous intensity of their play
earned them the nickname 'The Crushing Machine'." Sound familiar...?
Taken from the book 'Rafa Benitez' by Paco Llloret, this quote will resonate with any Liverpool
fans who remember the sense of optimism buzzing around the club when it was announced that Rafa was
to leave Valencia and become Liverpool's manager.

Both Sam Cronin and Stefan Frei have looked impressive early on this season. In fact, both of them
are making pretty good cases early on to be candidates for this year's Rookie of the Year award.
Let's not forget the third member of our first round draft class from this past January - Jamaican
born Toronto native O'Brian White.

Dynamo Kiev 1-1 Arsenal
For some inexplicable reason, I didn't switch the TV on to watch the game until mid-way through
the second half. I was presented with an Arsenal side on the back foot being assaulted by a Kiev
side 1-0 up and with a spring in their step. It wasn't a nice thing to be presented with.

So, maybe I forgot or just didn't do my homework but last night Argentina played Belarus in
Minsk in a friendly. Well, I really didn't miss much. Despite the presence of first team
regulars Tevez, Burdisso, Cambiasso and Zanetti the albicelestes could not take advantage. The
score ended up being 0-0 with few chances at goal by Argentina.
