All aboard! For Sarah Killion, Crystal Dunn, Chi Ubogagu and Kealia Ohai

The U.S. U-20 WNT left Sendai city this afternoon via the Shinkansen, the famed Japanese bullet train, and once again the local organizers made the trip as smooth as possible. Of course, the Shinkansen is about as smooth as it gets, gliding between cities at between 150-180 MPH, meaning the USA's train from Sendai took just over 90 minutes.

We know. Cute bags. And Jo Boyles got a jersey.

It's been a long tournament for the U.S. U-17s with a lot of games mashed into a short period of time, so today the team got the rest. No training, no meetings, no film. They did of course do their standard regeneration routine in preparation for the championship game tomorrow against Canada (6:30 p.

Three things Pakistani football can learn from Euro 2012 - originally posted on Soccerlens.com

The 2012 European Championships will kick off this summer in Poland and Ukraine. The Euro 2012 betting odds hugely favour Spain and Germany, but beyond the favourites and indeed beyond the 16 teams competing at Euro 2012, there are plenty of footballing lessons for Pakistan and Pakistani football to learn from, and hopefully apply to our own national team's cause.

As Brendan Rodgers prepares to begin Liverpool's Europa League campaign on Thursday, he insists the Premier League is the priority.
The Reds travel to face FC Gomel in the first leg of their third qualifying round clash in what will be Rodgers' first competitive match in charge.
But while the former Swansea boss would like to do well, he is adamant that the league is Liverpool's main target.

Look, I loved Harry Redknapp. I really did. He did a fantastic job for us when he came in so let's give the guy credit.

Blues hero talks up CL final ‘homework’

Premiership Talk Blog at related • 0 views

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has revealed that his penalty shoot-out heroics against Bayern Munich in Saturday's Champions League final triumph are directly attributable to homework rather than guesswork.

Even before the shoot-out, Cech was brilliant in denying former Blues teammate Arjen Robben five minutes into extra time, thus thwarting Bayern's hopes of taking a 2-1 lead in the contest.

Didier Drogba gave a relatively monotonous interview ahead of Saturday's Champions League final showdown against Bayern Munich, but you shouldn't be all that surprised. He's been known to scratch his nose during press duties so you can't really blame him for being oblivious about his opponents and only doing what Roberto di Matteo asks from him.

Not quite the class of the goal that Dennis Bergkamp scored but it was a goal that was enough to send us top of the group with a point ahead of the beaten side, Marseille. Another one of those where the result was more important than the performance. 5 wins out of 6 games now and that is momentum building.

An Afternoon at the Mall

The day after winning Group B at the 2012 CONCACAF U-17 Women's Championship, the U.S. players got a little treat...a trip to the mall to see The Avengers. With the games coming in quick succession, the U.S. team has mostly been bunkered down in the hotel resting, recovering and doing homework, but with two days between the group finale and the semifinal, the players headed to what was a very nice mall in Guatemala City to take in the superhero movie, after which, they got to walk around the mall a bit.
