Inigo Lopez grabbed a late winner for Granada to give their La Liga survival hopes a big boost
as they beat local rivals Malaga on Monday.
Malaga had the better early exchanges as the game started at a fast and furious pace with first
Enzo Maresca then Rondon shooting high and wide from good positions in the opening minutes.
Ahead of United's game against Liverpool at the weekend, Kenny Dalglish has created even more
ill-feeling by claiming that Luis Suarez, who was found guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra,
shouldn't have been banned.
"We don't think he should ever have been away but we are delighted to get him back," he
said.
Pelita Jaya's biggest home crowd for many a year saw them beaten 3-1 by Persib. Ok, the game was
played at Jalak Harupat which is Persib's home stadium but it used to be Pelita Jaya's though when
they played there they struggled to attract fans in what is staunch Persib territory.
The game was moved from Pelita Jaya's usual home stadium of Singaperbangsa in Karawang probably
because that stadium would not have been able to handle the travelling support and that makes two
consecutive home games played ‘away' from home; they hosted Persija in Solo for the same
reason.
Thierry Henry's short return to Arsenal apparently has been considered very useful for club's
manager, Arsene Wenger, as he is currently hoping that Henry's loan could be extended for another
two weeks.
Wenger revealed that the veteran striker brought plenty positive attitudes for the other players
as they listen and learn lots of things from the Gunners' legend, something that obviously helped
the tactician's job in improving his team's performance.
Olympique Lyonnais vs. Dijon FCO
Match day 21 – Ligue 1.
In an unbelievably quiet transfer zone window, the report card on indecision in the last month
will come 21 days later. That is because starting tonight, Lyon plays a match roughly every three
days, for the next three weeks!
Liverpool face off against Manchester City on Wednesday evening in the second leg of the Carling
Cup semi final. Liverpool lead the affair 1-0 but with at least 90 minutes still to play the tie is
obviously very delicately poised. The second leg will take place at Anfield and with the home crowd
roaring them on Liverpool will consider themselves favourite and the more likely of the two teams
to succeed.

United made it Manchester 2-0 North London in the second of Sunday's super-duper
all-singing-all-dancing encounters, beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates to whittle City's lead at
the summit of the Premier League back down from six points to three.
In a toughly contested match at the Emirates Stadium, Manchester United emerged 2-1 winners over
Arsenal to move within three points of the Barclays Premier League summit.
Earlier in the day, league leaders Manchester City went six points clear at the top thanks to a
late penalty kick converted by Mario Balotelli.

Obviously not used to moving at these speeds, a terrified Kevin Davies motors past

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish rued his side's lack of creativity as they dropped more points at
home after being held by Stoke.
The Reds have drawn seven of their 11 games at Anfield this season to seriously damage their
chances of a top-four finish.
The home side had the majority of possession but struggled to get to grips with their unfamiliar
3-4-2-1 formation and failed to create too many goalscoring opportunities against a resolute Stoke
defence.
The result I wanted even less than a win, a nil-nil bore draw in the bore draw leading to a replay.
Something we could do without from every position except perhaps fiscal after all, I imagine a
healthy sized home crowd for the return fixture will boost our coffers considerably given the
apparent popularity of the fixture down the A46.

Oldham's Tom Adeyemi, a 20-year old lad playing in one of the most prevalent games of his
professional career to date, was reduced to tears - I'll say that again, reduced to
tears at Anfield last night by a small group of Liverpool-aligned flesh-wastes in the Kop and
their toxic, racist oral excreta.
Liverpool 3-1 Newcastle United | Premier League match report
Craig Bellamy scored twice against his former club and Andy Carroll hit the bar in the second
half, though no one could stop Steven Gerrard stealing the show and the headlines with the last
Liverpool goal on his second game back from injury.

Each week during the season I'll post an updated MISL Power Ranking which will be based off the
cumulative results and current strength of each team. Here's my rankings heading into Week 9. Week
9 Rankings through 12/28 games.
#1 Milwaukee Wave (8-0, 1st Place MISL Central Division)Milwaukee was able to grind out a hard fought victory on the road over the Rochester Lancers on
Wednesday evening.
The Carling Cup semi-final legs between Liverpool and Manchester City look set to be mouth-watering
contests but who will be walking out onto the Wembley turf on February 26?
City have certainly been impressive to watch this season, as they have managed to cut out many of
the mistakes against lesser side that made them slip up in the Premier League title race last term.
Arsenal's ambition to improve position in the league was halted again as the Gunners only picked
up one point from their home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday.
A quick goal by Gervinho didn't resulted in a goal flowing result for the home team as their
visitor managed to pick up an equalizer through Steven Fletcher, and hold it until the final
whistle.
Chelsea failed to give a special Christmas treat for their fans as Andre Villas-Boas' team only
picked up a draw against Fulham at Stamford Bridge, making it their third 1-1 result in a row.
Juan Mata's goal wasn't enough to secure all three points for the Blues as their poor
performance on the day was punished by Clint Dempsey, who netted the away side's equalizer.

Fan's of Arsenal and Chelsea will be hoping for a Michael Cainesque Italian Job if they
are to enter the heady heights of a Champions League quarter-final.
Arsenal, who topped their group, were drawn against 7-time European Champions AC Milan, in a
repeat fixture to that of the 2008 CL round of 16, where, after a 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium
in the first leg, Arsenal travelled to the San Siro to silence the home crowd with a little help
from a 30-yard effort from Cesc Fabregas.

For the second consecutive evening the Baltimore Blast found a way to give away a game they should
have won in front of their home crowd.
Coming off a shocking 12-10 loss the night before at the hands of the Missouri Comets, the Blast
found a way to lose their second game in as many nights to the Syracuse Silver Knights by a score
of 12-9.
Thank heavens for Wojciech Szczesny.
Well, that was pleasant, wasn't it? A team full of reserves and youngsters faced off against a
determined, full-strength Olympiakos side determined to get the win, in any way possible. With a
ravenous home crowd egging them on, this game turned out to be a bit of an ugly affair, with studs
flying at different times and resulting in some nasty tackles and unsightly scenes.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has dismissed suggestions that Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri
will forever be a villainous figure at the Emirates Stadium, hoping that the former Gunners
playmaker is given a better reception in the future.
Before his club's 1-0 defeat to City in last night's Carling Cup quarterfinal, Wenger had urged
the home crowd to respect Nasri's contributions to the club rather than jeering him for the
infamous summer exit.
The Baltimore Blast are leading the way not only on the field but also in regards to average
attendance for the 2011-2012 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) season.
Though the Blast have only one official home game to count the attendance for that game was a
strong 8,078.
The Baltimore Blast are leading the way not only on the field but also in regards to average
attendance for the 2011-2012 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) season.
Though the Blast have only one official home game to count the attendance for that game was a

which had a disappointing home crowd of only 2,347.
A plethora of streaks came to an end in today's Premier League action as Arsenal and reigning
champions Manchester United were held to home draws while under-pressure Chelsea finally won at
Stamford Bridge after back-to-back defeats in recent weeks.
In reality, though, the trend of streaks coming to an end started at Britannia, when Stoke City
ended a four-match slide with a 3-1 home win over the struggling Blackburn Rovers courtesy of goals
from Rory Delap, Glenn Whelan, and Peter Crouch.
Rafa clearly believed in the power of his groin a little too much"Pay your tax, my lord, pay
your tax," the Aston Villa fans sang to Harry Redknapp, to the tune of 'Kumbaya', during the second
half on Monday night. Within seconds, the home crowd replied in near unison with: "2-0 down, my
lord, 2-0 down, oh you're 2-0 down.
Give Youth a Future, Support Them Today
It can't be easy being an up-and-coming young player at an old, established and successful
football club such as our own. The demand for instant accomplishment dictates that there is little
room for starlets to be given the time to develop into the red giants we hope they can become.
Trabzonspor's Halil Altintop (L) celebrates with his team mates after scoring a goal against Inter

This has to be the one of the best match, Trabzonspor played at home in front of home crowd in
the Champions League.

Real Madrid entered the fifth matchday of UEFA Champions League already having qualified for the
knockout rounds, so a more subdued performance from the Spanish giants wouldn't have been a
complete surprise. That's not quite what happened, though,.
With seven wins from eight games and twenty-two points from a possible twenty-four, the sun is
rising over the white and navy blue corner of North London at the moment. This evening's match
against Aston Villa was one at which Tottenham Hotspur might, in other years, have chosen to fluff
their lines, and Spurs supporters are rather over-familiar with their club's predilection for
getting to the point of achievement before contriving to find a way to allow it to slip through
their hands.

Disappointment is really the only word that seems to come to mind when you think back on the 18-7
season opening loss the Baltimore Blast suffered at the hands of the Syracuse Silver Knights. The
game was eerily similar to last season's 16-7 championship game loss to the Milwaukee Wave.

The final lineup for next summer's European Championship in Poland & Ukraine is now set
after tonight's playoff second legs, with a strong field of sixteen heading for Eastern Europe.
There were no winning fightbacks following the first legs and Portugal, the Czech Republic, the

When The Galaxy Beat the NY Red Bulls to secure the 7th trip to the MLS Cup final, it marked
another notch for the 2nd most storied franchise in MLS History.
All but four countries have booked their ticket to next summer's finals in Poland and Ukraine,
but the quality among the eight undecided sides have created some intriguing ties, with the
prospect of going on a run a la Greece always ever-present.
The play-off's two legs will be played on the 11th and 15th of the coming month, with the
following countries paired against each other in the final decisive battles of the qualifying
phase.

Liverpool 0-0 Swansea City | Premier League match report
Swansea deservedly gained only their second away point in the Premier League with a performance
that had the Anfield crowd cheering them off at the final whistle. The Welsh team were indebted to
Michel Vorm, Holland's No 2 goalkeeper, for two outstanding saves at the death, but the quality of
their football merited a point.
Liverpool could move back into the top four of the Premier League when they host Swansea in the
first league clash between the sides in almost 30 years.
Boss Kenny Dalglish, who played in the Reds' 3-0 victory over the Welshmen in April 1983, has

Today the second leg matches of the Major League Soccer playoff quarterfinals begin. An ailing
Colorado Rapids side visit Sporting Kansas City while everyone's favorite neighbors to the north,
the Seattle Sounders, will try to dig themselves out of a three goal hole at home against Real Salt
Lake.
Watching the last 20 minutes of the Heart v Sydney FC game last night one thing was clear, the
Heart players are not enjoying their game.
They are stressed. Perhaps even broken hearted. A goal from a corner - that van't Schip rightly
pointed out wasn't a corner - and its is a draw. A 1-0 win from a quality goal from their new
Brazilian signing is relegated to 1-1 and a 10th match without a win.
