Last year was pretty clear cut in the Conference North, Alfreton were pretty much definitely
going up despite having a ridiculous backlog of games, the play-off places were fairly clear early
on and Redditch were dropping like a stone from around February time, but this season it looks set
to be a bit closer at both ends of the table and closer still in the middle.
It has been a wretched season for St Albans City. Twenty-five years at the sixth level of the
English pyramid -one of which, the 2006/07 season had been spent a division higher in the Blue
Square Premier came to a crashing halt this season in a fog of humiliation, as they were docked ten
points for financial irregularities and finished well adrift at the foot of the Blue Square
South.
I've got to be honest, I'm completely underwhelmed by today's game. If England don't win by more
than two goals I think Capello should resign immediately. This game looks like a mythical third
round FA Cup tie something like Histon v Liverpool.
To begin, let's start with some facts. We've only lost three times in Wales since World War II,
the last time was a 0-1 defeat at The Racecourse Ground in Wrexham in May 1982, a game in the
last Home International Tournament.
