Manchester United - Liverpool 7:30am - ESPN2 A highlight game based on reputation rather than the
Premier League table. Liverpool are 7th, 14 points behind second-place Manchester United with both
clubs on 24 games played.
An incredible week in ‘Football News' means that not much has happened on the pitch. Liverpool
and Spurs played out a 0 – 0 whilst a cat became the highlight of Twitter on the night. On the

Hoyte-y toity The undoubted highlight of Sunderland's extra-time FA Cup victory over local rivals
Middlesbrough last night was this bizarre slide tackle on Boro defender Justin Hoyte from a pitch
invader. A couple of morons ran onto the pitch. One of them lost his footing behind Hoyte and ended
up sliding through the back of [.
While I'm relatively certain that most dedicated followers of MLS will know what United are
getting with the likes of Maicon Santos and Danny Cruz, there's still an element of mystery
surrounding the acquisitions from the mid-tier Euro-leagues. Most of us see precious little from
Swiss or Austrian clubs outside of perhaps the odd Europa League highlight.

...it is Meow!
Yep. That soddin' cat was the one, sole highlight of the drudgerous (possibly not a real word)
stalemate at Anfield last night.
The midfield. Currently viewed as the strength of the team. But is it really set right now?
Let's break it down:
Defensive Midfielders: Pavel Pardo, Logan Pause, Daniel Paladini, Mike
Videira
This is clearly the strength of the midfield. Pavel Pardo is in a class by himself.
FC Barcelona vs. Brazil in 1999 - The Full Match
The beginning of the week is never enjoyable, but let's lessen the dosage of suffering with a
glorious find on Youtube. 1999 was FC Barcelona's centenary year and the whole season was quite
the celebration of everything FC Barcelona.
We don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves, but Saturday seemed like a positive one in
Steve Zakuani's journey back from his leg injury.
Here's what the official practice report had to say about his performance: "Perhaps the best
highlight came in the final minute as Steve Zakuani, who played the full 40 minutes, flew down the
left side with blazing speed.

I've been waiting for a video of this to surface since Tuesday night, in so far as it was the
only slight sliver of a shred of commiseration we Forest fans were able to take from the night.
Burnley won 2-0. Rodriguez scored them both.
Anyway, with the score at 1-0, the man they call 'Jay Rod' up around Turf Moor way stepped up
and performed a timely homage to John Terry's infamously spunked Moscow spot-kick which proved to
be the only highlight of the game from a Forest perspective.

Pies' undoubted highlight of the weekend, Craig Bellamy and his rubber band (I think I saw them
play at a wedding once) going through a bit of choice choreography on the touchline at Anfield on
Saturday...
The sad fact is, some sports scientist somewhere has spent good money running test after test to
show that warming-up with a laggy band around the ankles can increase muscle efficiency by 0.

Saturday Liverpool - Manchester United 7:30am - Fox Soccer A highlight encounter in the Fourth
Round of the FA Cup, even if Liverpool are 7th in the league to United's 2nd. "Liverpool have been
struggling for form recently, and if we play like we did at Arsenal then I can't see why we can't
get a very positive result," former United striker Ashley Cole told the club's official site.
The least convincing on-field injury you're ever likely to see Good new for Newcastle fans. Demba
Ba and new signing Papiss Demba Cisse are both on their way back to Tyneside after Senegal crashed
out of the African Cup of Nations. The Dembas secured their early return with last night's 2-1
defeat to Equatorial Guinea.

Would anyone be opposed to a dawn execution for Pepe?
The first leg of the Copa del Rey saw Barcelona win (with goals by Puyol and Abidal, as
expected) and Jose Mourinho likely lose the services of his molester-moustachioed defender through
suspension, with Pepe seeing no card for what appears to be last segment a purposeful stamp on the
hand of Leo Messi.
The Red Bulls made it an eventful Tuesday as they drafted three players in the 2012 Supplemental
Draft. The three are Defender Mike Volk (UVA), Midfielder Christian Barreiro (UPenn) and Midfielder
Nate Polak (Hastings).
I wouldn't bank on any of these guys making the team, as Soler has stated that it would be hard to
find a player that could make the team in the Superdraft, nevermind the Supplemental Draft.
In his defense, Robbie Findley may have been their best player on the day. Still... yikes. That is
going to earn the FA some sweet highlight fees for a few days. They should cut our guy a check.-

Moussa Sow has come out and said he wants to play in the Premier League and he describes the
opportunity of joining Liverpool as his 'Dream Move'.
Sow was last season's top scorer in Ligue 1, scoring 25 goals. He would help fill the massive
void in Liverpool's attacking options.
He told Sky Sports: "I am at Lille now but as we all know I want to play in England one
day.
Lille forward Moussa Sow has spoken of his admiration for Liverpool, amidst rumours that the
25-year-old is thinking of leaving the French champions during the January transfer window.
Sow was the top scorer in Ligue 1 last season with 25 league goals as he helped his side win the
title but in recent weeks reports have suggested that he may look to leave and now the Senegal
international has spoken in glowing terms about Liverpool.

The U-23 back line had its guts ripped out yesterday in a 4-0 win to the Nats. Goals came from
Chris Wondolowski, Benny Feilhaber, Teal Bunbury and Graham Zusi. SKC represent. Here were your

Kid looks to have a pretty impressive mix of technique and athleticism in the highlight package.
Will it translate to MLS?

For whatever reason, the story of this week's Coppa Italia rounds has been free kicks and their
fashionably late arrivals. Three games stole the headlines with late, late drama on the back of
excellent free kicks, one each the last three days.
Today it was Goran Pandev's controversial oh-no-he-didn't/oh-yes-he-did ball which no one will
remember by about.
Kenny Dalglish today praised the team behind the team as he prepares to celebrate a year since his
memorable return to Melwood.
Our most famous No.7 was invited back into the dugout 12 months ago this weekend following the
departure of Roy Hodgson from Anfield.
Since then he has transformed the fortunes of the team on the field by bringing unity back to the
club where he scored 172 goals in 515 games as a player.

In which TYC Sports collate all of the Argentinian football's worst, most horrendous,
shinbone-splintering, ankle-knackering, face-pummelling and crotch-bruising fouls from 2011 for us
all to wince at in unison.
Note: the video starts with a highlight reel of a few nifty tricks and skills.
Conor Coady has paid tribute to Jay Spearing and Jonjo Shelvey after the duo excelled during their
respective run-outs for Liverpool Reserves recently.
The Melwood pair hit a double apiece as the second-string romped to wins over Sunderland and Wigan
- and the 18-year-old midfielder feels he can only learn from playing alongside such dedicated
first-teamers.
It can't just be about playing with Daniel Agger, as in recent weeks he has seemed to outshine
even his highly regarded Danish teammate, though perhaps that the partnership allows him to now
consistently play on his favoured right side could be part of it.
It isn't entirely a surprise, either, as in his early days at Liverpool he was for many the man
who would replace Jamie Carragher; a confident, physical defender set to anchor the defence for
years to come.

Wayne Rooney scores his first goal since Occupy Wall Street which happened last century. For
Utd, Wolves were the perfect antidote to the stench enveloping Old Trafford in the wake of their
ignominious exit from the CL this week. They're keeping it close with City who face Chelsea this
Monday in a huge match.
Craig Bellamy made his debut for the Wales national team at the tender age of 18, which means he
got to train alongside Liverpool goalscoring legend Ian Rush, surely a dream come true for any
young player making taking their first steps in the game? However, in typically honest fashion,
Bellers has revealed that he wasn't impressed with Rushie's performance in training.

If you've read the Ronaldinho-highlight-reel-related news these past days, it's possible you're
still suffering the painful ramifications of bleach in one's eyes. Things ain't exactly what they
used to be.
For those of us who choose to remember Dinho at his best or with pants on he had a little fun at
training over the weekend, offering up his special skills.
It was a mixed week for Serie A clubs competing in Europe's top competition. An enthralling
encounter with the world's best side ended in disappointment for AC Milan, while city rivals Inter
did just enough to earn qualification into the knockout stages with a draw in Turkey. But for
calcio fanatics, the highlight of this week's Champions League action came from a 2-1 contest at
the Stadio San.
So after a much awaited night of footballing action, i have to say i am very disappointed.
Disappointed because not only did Milan lose (which i was not expecting), but also because of other
shocking results across the continent.
Before i get into the Chelsea game, i just want to give my 2 cents worth on the Milan v
Barcelona tie.
A brace from Lionel Messi helped Barcelona edge out AC Milan in a 5 goal thriller at the San
Siro tonight, but it was Kevin Prince Boateng's goal which was the highlight of the match.
Grab a piece of the UEFA Champions League.
Linz preserved a point away at Lustenau with a comeback strike from Brazilian playmaker Henrique,
and a highlight-reel penalty kick save from keeper Thomas Mandl.
SPANISH FOOTBALL action continued this Sunday with the rest of the Round 13 SPANISH LEAGUE - LIGA
games played. Here is a quick resume of events, the results & the scorers. Real Sociedad - RCD
Espanyol REAL SOCIEDAD drew 0 - 0 with RCD ESPANYOL with the latter disappointed that they did not
do more & grab the three points.
We are only four days from the culmination of the 2011 season and I don't know about all of you,
but I'm ready. Alas, we must be patient and in an attempt to give you something to focus on ahead
of the game, I figured it would be good to offer up my analysis of the two teams and who I see
having the advantage, at least on paper.

Wales whooped Norway 4-1 at the Cardiff City Stadium to make it three wins in a row, but the
undoubted highlight of the match has to be Wayne Hennessey's assist for Erik Huseklepp's
consolation goal...
Hennessey's little brain fart aside, Wales scored a couple of stunning goals with Gareth Bale's
angled opener and Craig Bellamy's top-corner curler definitely worth a watch.

In the only match of the day that really counted, Luis Suarez absolutely shredded Chile, hitting
them for four and having a fair shout at at least a couple more. Other things happened today too,
but this is a little sexier than international friendlies played at half-speed, even if those other
ones did involve a certain Christian P*****n.
