Chelsea seek to avenge the Barclays Premier League defeat to Liverpool when the two sides take on
each other in a Carling Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday.
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is set to make changes to his team for the game – with Fernando
Torres expected to be handed a start against his former side after sitting on the bench the last
time the two sides met.
Jose Enrique insists playing twice in 48 hours can be no excuse if Liverpool are knocked out of the
Carling Cup by Chelsea, after manager Kenny Dalglish described the scheduling as
'irresponsible'.
Liverpool drew 1-1 at home with Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday and travel to
Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in the cup quarter-final on Tuesday.
Dalglish fumes at 'irresponsible' fixture schedule
"To ask any team or any players to play two games of high intensity in 48 hours is a bit of a
joke," says the Liverpool boss

I'm here to defend Marquez.
After two steps forward, the next one should not go backwards. That is the mantra for Arsene and
his players this Sunday as they welcome, perhaps reluctantly, Stoke City to the Emirates.
At home the Gunners have generally done well against the Potters. But Arsene probably played his
best eleven against Marseille while Stoke were able to rest a number of players for their European
adventure.

Bolton Wanderers lifted themselves off the bottom with a deserved win away to
Wigan.
The Seattle Sounders won their third consecutive US Open Cup and were the first MLS team to do so.
The Sounders defeated the Chicago Fire by a score of 2-0 but don't let the scoreline fool you, the
game was competitive and entertaining. The Fire were looking to become on the third team in history
of the tournament to win the competition five times, they failed in that endeavor but not without a
valiant effort.

What's that feeling I have? It's a familiar feeling but one I haven't felt for a long time...a
general sense of well-being and good will mixed in with a sense of purpose and forward-looking
confidence...I've got it—it's the feeling of victory. Welcome back, old friend.
Peter Nowak said of the Philadelphia Union's win over Columbus, "We came back to the mentality
we had in the beginning of the season.
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas admits Didier Drogba will miss Sunday's clash against
Manchester United as the Ivory Coast striker continues to recover from concussion.
Drogba was concussed in a collision with Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy during Chelsea's 3-1
victory on August 27 and has yet to return to action.
It was dark when I got up this morning. That's rubbish. Dark is for sleeping in, definitely not
for getting up in. Unless it's the middle of the night and you have to go to the bathroom.
On arising, one should be bathed in soft, warm light and that light and warmth should remain
with one throughout the day until you decide it's time to sleep again.
Just Football presents... The Study of English Football [Introduction] is a post from: Just

It was after the English national football team's 1-2 defeat to France in November 2010 that,
when reading what was written in the press after the game, I reached the final straw.
I want to start my view on the game on Saturday by congratulating West Brom on how they came here,
approached the game and delivered the performance by playing the game exactly how their manager
wanted them to. They took the lead, defended well for the most part and at times exposed some
problems in our defence.
Tomorrow is the end of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. As everybody expected at the beginning of the
tournament the match will be between the USA and Mexico. It's going to be a very gritty, high
intensity match that few will want to miss. Unfortunately, the soccer gods that be have decided to
broadcast both the Portland Timbers vs.
La Liga Lowdown, Jornada 36: Barcelona crowned champions is a post from: Just Football
Yes, with two games to spare, week 36 witnessed the inevitable as FC Barcelona
wrapped up the title – their third in three years. The point earned against Levante was enough
for the Catalans to clinch the title, leaving rivals Real Madrid six points behind them.
After today's game our next fixture is on April 2nd against Blackburn at home. The last few
weeks have been mildly traumatic so it's hugely important that we get things back on track
today.
The idea of going through the Interlull with a painful result at the Hawthorns to go over again
and again really doesn't appeal.

As a dyed in the wool Gooner, I have become so enraged by appalling refereeing decisions, in
game after game, that I realised it was becoming a serious health hazard.
The incandescent fury that descends upon me, at the perceived injustice, causes my face to
mottle and go purple, like an over-sized plum, and my eyes to bulge like demented headlights on
stalks, while my hand, of its own volition, spasmodically throws at the screen anything not tied
down.
Ever considered who has got your back when you roll your sleeves up for that big game you have
been waiting for? Given the fast pace and high intensity of modern-day sports, injuries are always
likely to happen.
Therefore, it has become more important than ever before for every athlete to take a step back
and carefully review insurance options available.
Not that I condone that sort of abuse levelled at referees because there should be some respect
given them. However, if you've just made an absolutely terrible call in a very high intensity game,
you can expect to hear about it.
How about to make things fair, the FA charge Mike Dean with improper refereeing?
