QUESTION ON MY MINDWho will help save my team?
The Minnesota Thunder is all but dead. This is horrible news. The team has been around since 1990
and won many amazing games & trophies, but currently finds itself in the hands of ownership who
appear to be lying to everyone in sight, and have no money at all.

Brazil, already qualified for the World Cup, had no answer to a lively Bolivia playing at high
altitude here in the Andes on Sunday. The Brazilians were 1-0 down after just 10 minutes when Edgar
Olivares netted. Werder Bremen's Marcelo Martins doubled the deficit on the half-hour and although
Nilmar pulled one .

Down and out in La Paz
A lacklustre Brazil went down 2-1 in La Paz against Bolivia and so ended Dunga's team's 19 game
unbeaten run.
Olivares and Marcelo Moreno had given the homeside a two-goal cushion before  Nilmar pulled one
back in the second-half. The combination of high altitude and poor attitude meant that Brazil
rarely threatened and the whole match had that ‘end of season' feel to it.

South American Zone of the World Cup qualifiers have never been very
interesting as Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay would always qualify for the final tournament, while
two or three other side used to fought for one remaining place. This is so not the case this term
as no less than six teams are fighting for two plus one qualifying berths with
just two rounds to go.

Just when the dust has settled on one of the more memorable rounds in South American
World Cup qualifying, up come another round of matches that will surely have fans in euphoria or
depression at the end of Wednesday night.
A wounded Argentina, a reignited Colombia, a desperate Ecuador, a shocked Uruguay and a nervous
Venezuela are battling for the final two spots in CONMEBOL's qualifying table with Brazil already
qualified and Paraguay and Chile all but assured of a spot in South Africa next year.

Kenya needs to get their act together.
The country's had an abundance of problems the past few years.
From two competing football leagues to a FIFA suspension, the people running Kenyan football can't
seem to figure out how to make football work in their country.
It's a pity, too.

I am sure by now you've heard that the U.S. was unsuccessful in their quest for their first ever
victory in Mexico's Estadio Azteca. Unfortunately, the 24th trip to Mexico City would be no
different then the previous 23 for the American squad.Â
And although the U.S. did lead early in the match (their first lead ever in Mexico) the club
faded away by the end of regulation losing 2-1.

NOT SO FAST, MEXICO!
An ineligible player! Oh, no! Looks like you'll be missing the World Cup again!
-----------------
So, yeah, I just had the game spoiled for me at work.
Yes, I know. A real fan would have skipped work. A real fan would have been in Mexico City.

Matias Fernandez set foot on the European pedestal having dazzled those in audience at the Estadio
Monumental in Chile, his somewhat youthful age not inhibiting a confidence that reached a sky-high
altitude when he ripened into a prominent figure in the ranks of Colo Colo and, in doing so,
infiltrating his name into the select handful who are spoken of as South America's budding hopes.

The games on Confederation Cup showed that offensive football such as is preferred by Brazil or
Spain has no alternative and that two squads will, for sure, be the hot favourites for the
champion's title next summer in South Africa.
On the other side we have warrior-like Italian and Argentineans that are light years away.

With four rounds left, and after almost three years of home-and-away matches among the
10-nation pool of countries in South America, the dust is closely settling on who will make it to
South Africa next year and who will stay home and watch it on TV----and there's been little
surprise at the outcome.

Maradona's Argentina continue to struggle in the World Cup qualifying campaign
and they are now in danger of missing out on the place in South Africa. Once again high altitude
proved a stumbling block for Albiceleste as they lost in Ecuador, whereas their fierce rivals
Brazil returned to the top of the standings by beating
Paraguay.

Despite Argentina's 0-2 loss to Ecuador at Quito last night, The Dona insists
that his team were the better side. Contrary to our previous Baby
Anthem report, Messi did play in this game.
Tevez, unfortunately, failed to convert a crucial penalty in the first half with a
weak shot that should be banished from eternity!

After their uneventful win against Colombia, Maradona is looking for new ideas and combinations for
the High altitude game against Ecuador this Wednesday. The team might even be unrecognizable -
There is also a very good possibility that Messi will not play due to a Yellow card that he
received in a previous game which could jeopardize the next game against Brazil.

Picture this: A new stadium, a young team, a fiery young coach, the best football of their lives.
It sounds like the perfect setting for a drama where a coal company tries to buy out the stadium to
start a mine but the whole community comes together to fight the big company off and instill
community values and love throughout the atmosphere.

In case you didn't know (and you should, because I mentioned it), my birthday was this month,
and if you are also celebrate your birthday this month, make sure you have a lot of fun with close
friends, but don't injure yourself. Of course, it's the thought that counts (so they say), so if
someone gives you a hideous lovingly handcrafted pair of socks, appreciate it as much as you would
if they bought you, say, a 15k phone.

The African nations have been steadily improving over the last decade or so and the World Cup in
2010 represents a good chance for one of the stronger sides to emerge victorious. The Ivory Coast,
Cameroon and Nigeria are the ‘heavyweights' of African football but Egypt, Tunisia and Senegal
also possess some talent and should not be dismissed.
