As I'm sure everyone knows, the Honduras-USA can only be viewed via closed-circuit TV in the USA.
(It can also be listened to on the web through the various radio networks in Honduras -- here's
one.) I have my own thoughts about this situation, but what's done is done. What I find incredible
is that of the bar/restaurant outlets reported to be showing the game, there is only ONE in the
state of Arizona.

entrega.

I finally got around to watching the Mexico-USA match on DVR. The nice thing about doing that is
that I can go forward and reverse to review key plays and pinpoint breakdowns. Here are my
impressions of the first half: The USA were the stronger team in the opening ten minutes. They held
possession deep into the Mexican half, they pressed deep, and their defenders even played a high
line upfield.

vecinos.

I've had more time to look at the Hexagonal schedule, and I have some additional thoughts. Perhaps
it would have been better to post this in the week following the draw, but not much is happening
between now and February, anyway. I believe that in order to analyze the Hexagonal properly, it's
important to consider not only the sides in the competition, but also the order in which the
matches are played.

According to the website FutboldeCostaRica.com, the Costa Rican federation will play three of their
Hexagonal home matches on the artificial pitch at Saprissa stadium. Those three matches are against
Honduras, El Salvador, and the USA. The announcement came from a FEDEFUTBOL official on local
radio, but I haven't seen any updates on the federation website.

I'll have more to say later, but here are my initial thoughts: Three words. Cold. War. II. Mexico's
worst fears came true today. They have to face their archrival away without three of their
first-string players. As a matter of fact, the opening three matches could be hellish for Mexico
(home to Costa Rica might offer a brief respite).

** Updated and bumped **"Now Mexico have something to talk about all week." So said David
Suazo after Honduras' 1-0 victory over Mexico. The Honduran press is exultant over the return of
the catrachos to the Hexagonal for the first time since 2001. Reinaldo Rueda is exultant as well,
and considers the win a "great gift to the Honduran people.
