Cristiano Ronaldo may be ready in time for El Clasico

Cristiano Ronaldo is recovering from an ankle injury he suffered back in October in a match with his national team side Portugal. The injury will keep him out of Portugal's World Cup play-off matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

It was earlier reported that Ronald would not be ready in time for the match against FC Barcelona on November 29 but when talking to reporters today in Madrid he was optimistic.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is in the middle of a dispute between Real Madrid and Portugal.

Ronaldo was surprisingly called up by Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz for the two-legged FIFA World Cup play-off against Bosnia-Herzegovina despite Real Madrid recently claiming that Ronaldo will not be fit for at least two more weeks.

The Court of Bosnia and Hercegovina has sentenced a former Bosnian Serb army officer to 30 years in prison for his part in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre.

Milorad Trbic had taken part in a plan to capture, detain, execute and bury all able-bodied Muslim men in the town with "genocidal intent", judges ruled.

The latest FIFA World Rankings were released on Wednesday September 2, 2009 with not many changes. Brazil remains on top but Spain has closed the gap to less than 20 points. The rest of the top ten remains about the same with Italy moving up one spot to be tied with Germany for 4th and France slipped to 10th while Croatia moved up one to 9th.
