Brasileiro: Palmeiras Has Company…

See The Cup 26 October @ 02:54 PM EST

.... Lots of it. After looking like the virtual champion of Campeonato Brasileiro, Palmeiras lost points and the chances of confirming the title. And with that, 4 clubs have now the chance of taking the title away from the side headed by Muricy Ramalho. In the 31st round of Brasileiro, Atletico-MG, Inter, Sao Paulo and Flamengo won their matches and are just a few step away from jumping to first (something that can happen in the next round).

Brasileiro: The Tournament No One Wants to Win

See The Cup 13 October @ 03:06 AM EST

After the 29th round of Brasileiro, it seems no one wants to take the title home. Like in the last round, when only one club on the top won, the leaders collectively failed again. Palmeiras, Sao Paulo and Atletico-MG lost. Inter and Goias tied at home. And, in this way, Flamengo, the 6th side on the table, was the first team on the top to win.

Brasileiro: Leaders Fail to Win and Inter Celebrates

See The Cup 09 October @ 02:55 AM EST

The 28th round of Brasileirao was big obstacle for the leaders of the tournament. Palmeiras, Sao Paulo, Goias and Atletico-MG failed to win. The only side rubbing its hand and smiling is Inter, as it pocketed 3 points.

On Thursday, Palmeiras received Avai at home knowing that on the day before Sao Paulo had failed to win.

Dramatic Video: Nautico 1 – 2 Sao Paulo

See The Cup 01 October @ 01:28 AM EST

It was one of the most dramatic victories of this year's Brasileirao. Sao Paulo had all the reasons to see its visit to Nautico end up in a sound defeat.

1)Sao Paulo did not have keeper Rogerio Ceni and two of its main forwards;
2)Nautico had a penalty with just 4 minutes into the match;
3)Sao Paulo had 2 players ejected one in each half;
4)Nautico scored (through Bruno Mineiro) a goal early in the match.

Five Players Who Could Set The 2009/2010 English Premiership Alight

The Flat Back Four 10 August @ 03:32 PM EST
With the departure of Ronaldo and Xabi Alonso, the Premiership looks in danger of lacking the Latin/Iberian flair and creativity. It is my opinion that English football needs entertainers while maintaining its physical and energetic characteristics. Players who can bring crowds and viewers to their feet with moments of magic. Colors of the Week in the Brasileiro: Black and White

See The Cup 24 July @ 08:34 PM EST

The 13th round of Campeonato Brasileiro was all about black and white. Atletico-MG and Corinthians were the ones who benefited the most from the midweek round. The two clubs won at home by 2-1 and watched direct rivals losing important points.

In Belo Horizonte, Atletico beat Fluminense, who had the 5th debut of coach Renato Gaucho.

Gomes Loves Tricolor’s Reserves and …. Hernanes!

Futbolita 03 July @ 11:18 PM EST

Ah, how typical of Hernanes to break out into a dance halfway during Sao Paulo's training session! It could just be one of Ricardo Gomes' 'tactics' to loosen things up in the team. You can always count on Hernanes to make everyone feel like they're in the middle of a circus.

Liga de Fútbol Profesional 09 May @ 12:56 PM EST
