The transfer window is upon us and with a number of players set to move now and in the summer,
we would like to take you through a list of the players who could potential leave their clubs when
their contracts expire at the end of the season.
At look at the heavyweights making the list across the big clubs reveals that they are set to
lose very influential players in the summer.
The Salary Cap has struck again.
Brisbane Roar have lost Thomas Broich, Henrique, Matt Smith and other key players in recent weeks
and as a result despite continuing to boss possession, key goals have been conceded and a lack of
attacking penetration has seem the team suffer three defeats in a row.
To build a football brand in Brisbane, the Roar had to win last night. While the crowd had already
halved from 20,000 to 10,000, Roy Morgan found this week that Brisbane is the most watched (TV)
soccer team in the A-League. A shock for Melbourne Victory perhaps.
That was one disappointment from last night.
Linz preserved a point away at Lustenau with a comeback strike from Brazilian playmaker Henrique,
and a highlight-reel penalty kick save from keeper Thomas Mandl.
Early in the first half Brisbane had crazy misses. Besart found himself clear twice. The first time
he fell over. The second he took too long. Then Issey failed to take his chance.
Then Newcastle settled into their 3-4-3 formation with Ruben Zadkovich outpacing Erik Paaratlu,
Broich having his quietest half of football ever with a few well timed elbows in the head from
Kasey Wehrman, and Newcastle playmaker Ryan Griffiths occasionally looking dangerous.
When Dario brilliantly hit the back of the net on 5 minutes it looked as if at last Brisbane's time
had come. Broich had said earlier in the week that they had been lucky. Perhaps that had run
out?
But no. On when the pressure. Fox had asked would Brisbane be able to chase this season, well yes.

Brazil's U-20s get their Pan-American campaign under way when they take on Argentina this

On a Saturday night in Peru earlier this year, Brazil went to Arequipa's Estadio Monumental de
la UNSA needing a win to clinch the South American Youth Championship. Coincidentally, their
opponents were Uruguay, the very team that they needed to overthrow.
So the U-20 selecao boys have done it once again, winning the World Cup for the
fifth time last night (officially tied with the senior team!) As mum would say :
"PARABENS!!" It was a hat-trick from Oscar which sealed
the deal for the boys, ensuring they got the 3-2 victory over colonial brothers, Portugal.
That's an awesome photo of Bruno Uvini and Henrique from Brazil's U-20 squad
congratulating Danilo on his first call-up to the senior seleção
yesterday! Sure, it looks borderline cheesy and posed, but who cares?!
Handshakes aside, the U-20 guys have an extremely important agenda to settle to today : The
World Cup final against Portugal!
