I was surprised when I read in the morning about Scholes coming out of his retirement and rejoining
United as a player. That made me wonder whether Scholes is the new Henrik Larsson that Sir Alex is
trying to create to see-off an injury crisis at Old Trafford. If you remember, Sir Alex signed
Henrik Larsson on loan from January - March in 2007.
AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta has no plans to retire soon. The veteran Italian defender who
is now 35 made the startling remarks during an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport on
Wednesday.
Despite his numerous injuries over the years that have seen him missing lengthy spells of
regular playing time, Nesta has no desire of quitting just yet.
Quick name the top ten players who shouldn't become coaches when all is said and done.
Did Zlatan fall on anyone's list? Or maybe...did Zlatan fall on everyone's list? To say he has a
prickly personality would be to call the old Ronaldo, now new Ronaldo, a bit chunky.
And yet.

Massive thanks to @BarcelonaNil for the suggestion here.
Foreigners have ruined our game coming across here with their wage demands, their dislike of wet
Wednesday nights at Central Park, their blatterish ways.
Nonsense.

Henrik Larsson looked like he was never away from Parkhead as he scored a
hat-trick on his return to Celtic for their Charity match against Manchester United who themselves
had former captain Roy Keane in their ranks.
But it was Larsson who stole the show scoring a hat-trick in a 5-2 win over United having been
2-0 down in the first half.
Roy Keane and Henrik Larsson will make emotional returns to Manchester United and Celtic
respectively to-night to raise fund for Oxfam's East African Famine Appeal.
Keane will be joined by 1999 historic Treble winners team-mates Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and Dwight
Yorke for the the Charity match against Celtic.

Sir Alex Ferguson has always been tough to predict in the transfer market, he's capable of
securing transfer deals that seemed incredibly unlikely, unexpected, genius, or sometimes,
baffling. From Henrik Larsson to Chicharito to Gabriel Obertan and Bébé, there's usually
something from way out in left field.
Sigh heaped upon sigh.
After Wednesday's post celebrating Motherwell's 1991 Scottish Cup win I knew I had to redress the
balance.
Fast forward ten years.
Celtic win the Scottish Cup, complete the treble, with a comprehensive 3-0 win over my
Hibernian.
A cracking Celtic team it was.

While Martin O'Neill's appointment as Celtic manager was warmly welcomed by the
club's fans in July 2000, the general consensus was that he would have a huge task on his hands to
build a successful side.
The question right now is where does Sweden really stand in Europe? We had some pretty moments
in the last Euro qualifying campaign, only to end up not making it out of the group stages.
Following that debacle we held onto Lars Lagerbäck for one last run at glory. The biggest mistake
though of the 2010 World Cup Qualifiers was not keeping Lagerbäck, but hoping that Henrik Larsson
would still be as sharp as in his past glory days.
Calum writes at his blog Good Feet For A Big Man and tweets @calumcm ... This is his
favourite goal:
A goal's a goal, of course, and they all count the same. Except it isn't, and they don't. A
winner is better than a consolation, a 20-yarder better than a tap-in and a goal in the last minute
tops one in the first.
The Loan Rangers With the potential loan move to Tottenham Hotspur of David Beckham, OTP takes the
opportunity to look at ten players who made an impressive impact during short term deals. Clearly
there will be those that you think we have missed, so feel free to provide suggestions. 1.

This time last year we were on a long unbeaten run and were beginning to hint at the possibility
of a serious title challenge.
There was one glaring problem – we did not have a lead striker.
Robin van Persie was out on one of his trademark lengthy injury lay-offs and Nicklas Bendtner
was filling the berth next to him in the treatment room.
After claiming the only club he would play for in England was Manchester United, David Beckham
entered talks with Tottenham Hotspurs, amongst others, a fortnight later. It now looks as though he
will join Spurs on loan this weekend.
Sir Alex Ferguson has been asked what he makes of Beckham's return to the Premiership, but our
manager doesn't seem very excited about the impact the former United man could make on the
league.
