Summer 2012 needs to see a change in direction in Arsenal's transfer policy. Out must go this
incessant desire to collect 15-16 year olds from around the world and expect and hope that they
will develop.
Arsenal have many youngsters in the reserves or on loan for whom the time is ripe for them to be
given their chance.
Henri Lansbury's last game for Arsenal this season was the 8-2 defeat at Old Trafford. He's been
at Arsenal since he was 9-years-old but his worst ever day in football came at the hands of
Manchester United earlier this season.
Two weeks after our demolition of Arsenal, Lansbury signed for West Ham on loan and was quick to
grab their badge when he scored on his debut.
In his recent post on the loan system, my fellow blogger Lloyd drew attention to its clever
exploitation by Watford in recent seasons. Tom Cleverley was perhaps the best known of the Vicarage
Road lodgers but Ben Foster did strikingly before him, while Henri Lansbury and Andrew Taylor
also starred in gold.
Jack Wilshere's successful loan spell at Bolton proved the final piece of his development. More
please...
Even before the quarterfinal draw for the Carling Cup paired Arsenal with Manchester City
(a.k.a., the Death Squad), many speculated that the reserve teamers logging time on the big stage
would soon cede their places to first team players in a push for the silverware.
After Thierry Henry a man with the name Henri will always get my backing to well at the
Arsenal.
Not only that, a local boy like Henri Lansbury will get my backing even more than trap 4 in the
12:17 at Crayford dogs.
Lansbury hasn't had many first-team chances at Arsenal.
In fact, he has been loaned out more the dirty magazines I found under my brothers bed when I was
13.
Arseblog has teamed up with Thomas Cook Sport, official travel partner of Arsenal, to provide
two pairs of tickets for this Saturday's game against Bolton.
Arsenal need to get back to winning ways after a disappointing start to the season and you could
be there to help cheer them back into form.
Few players have what it takes to make the grade at Arsenal; Henri Lansbury is not of those.
Talent alone is not enough to succeed at Arsenal, as JET will unhappily testify. It requires the
right attitude as well, a delicate combination of passion, determination, self-belief and
patience.
The news that Henri Lansbury has signed a new contract strengthens my belief that he possesses
all these qualities.

Football is a funny old game. That saying is definitely true today because only yesterday we
brought you the news that Henri Lansbury was prepared to leave the club to further his career, and
he was actually quoted as saying, "If I have to go then I have to go." Well today Arsenal have
announced [...
Arsenal's Henri Lansbury has only made a handful of appearances in his time at the Emirates and he
has already been loaned out to West Ham United this season. Highly rated by Boss Arsene Wenger he
has never really had the chance to shine, and he realises that if he wants to progress in the [...]
The signing of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Southampton this summer was met acrimoniously by
many sectors of the Emirates faithful. Over the international break, Chamberlain went some way to
justifying the money that Arsene Wenger paid for the talented teen and giving Arsenal fans a taste
of what is to come.

Should be slightly happier after scoring 4 goals for Holland
International break, the kind of break we as club supporters always detest. In this instance
though, it is a welcomed one. Especially after the crazy last week that we had. Starting with the
bashing we took at the reigning champions to the frenzy last few days of the transfer window.
Jordan Henderson scored an excellent goal while captaining England U21s to a 6-0 Euro qualification
victory over Azerbaijan on Thursday night.
The 21-year-old bent a right-foot shot beyond the goalkeeper to cap a mature display in the centre
of the park.
Jon Flanagan also impressed on his U21 debut, playing 90 minutes and looking every inch a Premier
League player.
By Alan Duffy
As he embarks on yet another loan move, this time to Championship giants West Ham United,
Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury put on a superb Man of the Match display for Stuart Pearce's U21
side against Azerbaijan, netting two goals and providing a couple of assists as the young England
side coasted to a 6-0 win.
England U21 6 Azerbaijan U21 0: Henri Lansbury excels
When Stuart Pearce said he was bracing himself for the biggest test of his England Under 21
reign, he could not have had Azerbaijan in mind. His young side sauntered to a 6-0 victory at
Vicarage Road to start their qualifying campaign for the 2013 European Championship in Israel.
On a day when many managers strive to negotiate the ideal transfer fee for their ideal targets,
there is often a realization that the ideal deal might not be struck after all.
Fortunately for these managers, not all is lost when they fail to agree a fee for someone they
really want to bring to their clubs.
Transfer deadline day looms and Arsenal are still in the market for midfielders, this is not
idle blog gossip but Arsene Wenger stated we are short of players in this area. This became
self-evident in recent games were the creativity has been left to Rosicky and his best days are
behind him.
Today is a day we will all go mad in following rumours and tweets.
Man United 8 Arsenal 2
A terrible, terrible performance brought a terrible, terrible result. Make no mistake, this was the
nadir of Arsene Wenger's time in charge.
For an hour we were outclassed but somehow were in the game at 3-1 down. Then we removed our
holding midfielder and put an attacking player on to try and get a result, and conceded five goals
in half an hour.
Could he get a role in midfield?
There's no use hiding behind it. Today, Arsene Wenger will fully utilize the every corner of his
squad. Suspension has robbed (but justified) us of Alex Song, Emmanuel Frimpong and Gervinho.
Injuries have put paid to the hopes of seeing Kieran Gibbs, Nicklas Bendtner and Sebastien
Squillaci.

Arsene Wenger has announced the Samir Nasri is in the squad for tomorrow's game against
Liverpool. This will be a very interesting game for Nasri, he will play in the playmaker position
that he has wanted to play in for some time, yet the fans will not forgive him nor will they greet
him with the adulation that they showed last season.
Going global: Birthplaces of Premier League players (excluding UK).
Another summer is on its way out with Arsenal barely making a splash in the transfer market.
Once again it looks like Arsenal will be relying on youth this season. It got me thinking are
Arsenal really good at producing players from their youth academy who are capable of playing in the
Premier League?
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger travelled to Portugal ahead of tomorrow's Eusebio Cup game against
Benfica with 19 players, including youngsters Henri Lansbury and Ignasi Miquel. With Jack Wilshere

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed midfielder Henri Lansbury will be given a chance this season

The great Arsenal garage sale appears to be gathering apace in the last seven days. Jay Emmanuel
Thomas has sashayed out of the exit door without the indignity of it subsequently hitting him on
the arse. Emmanuel Eboue is attracting suitors with a thousand strong red and white clad army
offering a temporary airport taxi service.
July is nearing an end, and there is plenty of evidence that the upcoming season is drawing near
as actual news is starting to pick up and Arsenal.com is churning out more articles daily. I think
we are all thankful for some real news instead of transfer sagas that never end, so let's get to
it.
Yesterday Arsenal officially confirmed the departure of youth product Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (aka JET)
to Ipswich Town for a reported fee of 1.
Morning all.
Our transfer business continued a-pace yesterday as we provided another signing for another
club. As expected Jay Emmanuel-Thomas joined Ipswich for around £1m. It's an unsurprising move
considering his career trajectory and his age. If he'd stayed at Arsenal this year he would have
had to be included in the 25 man squad and with Arsene Wenger clearly not considering him a player
of that stature a move was the only realistic option.
When the season came to a close, Arsene stated that we needed a bit more strength and experience
in the squad, in particular in defence. The old sage has since enlightened us with the fact that
he will be busy this summer, this was then refined that most business will be done at the end of
July .
So the team continue in Germany, working hard on fitness and probably doing lots of running. Is
there anything worse than just running?
I always, always hated pre-season when I was playing proper league football. Doing laps of the
pitch, or doing that running when you're in pairs and when the coach shouted '1′ it meant touch
the ground with your right hand, '2′ with your left, '3′ up for a header, '4′ was 'back men
to the front' and all that.
Stevenage 0-1 Arsenal | Aneke 51
Pre-Season Friendly | Broadhall Way
A Chuks Aneke goal was enough to give a young Arsenal side victory in what was a tight affair in
Hertfordshire. Arsenal may have used the game to give their youngsters a run out against an
experienced League side, but for Boro, the game acted as another step towards getting to tip-top
condition ahead of the Exeter game, just two weeks away on August 6th.
A quick Sunday round-up for you.
The squad for the Asian Tour was announced yesterday and there were no real surprises. Cesc was
absent, as expected, Eboue, Diaby and Fabianski didn't travel because of injury concerns, while
only the omissions of Nicklas Bendtner and Manuel Almunia raised eyebrows.

Some time ago I wrote an article slightly jokingly about the vines that Arsene had planted and
how we were now seeing them produce some wonderful fruits. A few months on and with another
trophyless season under the belt there is a serious question to be asked.

The media made a big fuss when Liverpool secured the signing of Jordan Henderson for a fee in
the region of £20M from Sunderland. Some people even questioned whether Arsenal had been left
behind in this deal. Arsenal fans remained silent, not out of shock at missing out on a good
player, but because we all knew we had at least three British players on our books better than
Henderson.
There was heartbreak for Jordan Henderson and England U21s on Sunday night as their European
Championship dream was ended with a 2-1 defeat to the Czech Republic.
After drawing their opening two group games, the Three Lions needed to beat the Czechs in order to
progress into the semi-final of the tournament in Denmark.

With England U21s needing a three-point haul from their final group game, it looked for all of
14 minutes like Danny Welbeck's header was going to be enough to see Psycho's youngsters through to
the knock-out rounds of the U21 European Championships that was until the Czech Republic pulled
their fingers out, scored in the 89th minute and again with the final kick of the game (Jan
Chramosta and Tomas Pekhart, both substitutes) thus hoisting themselves back above England in the
table and through to meet Switzerland in the semis on Wednesday.

A rather drab, 'hoofy' goalless draw with Ukraine last night left the England U21s needing a
three-point haul (they also drew their first game with Spain, despite being dismally outplayed)
from their final Group B game against the Czech Republic to progress through to the semis after
Spain's impressive young charges beat the Czechs 2-0 in Wednesday evening's other tie.
