Leeds United have signed MLS star Robbie Rogers on an 18-month contract from Columbus Crew.
The 24-year agreed personal terms on January 10 but had to wait for his work permit to be approved
before he could become officially part of the squad at Elland Road.
Rogers was given a taste of football in England in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Newcastle
last week but was unable to feature for the reserves because not all of his paperwork had been
completed.
BBC News and Sky News are reporting that American Robbie Rogers has signed a deal with Leeds
United of England's Championship. The 24 year old winger has been capped 18 times by the United
States National Team and most recently played for the Columbus Crew in MLS. This isn't Rogers'
first signing with a European club.

A day after locking up centerback Chad Marshall for the foreseeable future, the Columbus Crew
may be on the verge of losing a key figure from its attack.

Jozy Altidore has been no stranger to scoring nice goals this season, but the one he bagged this
weekend is arguably among his best of the year.
Altidore finished off a beautiful passing sequence in AZ Alkmaar's match against Heerenveen when
he got an open look from close range after a beautiful first touch that got him by a defender.

Yes, you read that correctly.
Belgian midfielder Sven Kums (fnarf fnarf!) opened the scoring for Heerenveen in their 4-1 away
win over Utrecht by cannoning one in from the edge of the area with his mutton truncheon...
That name again, Sven Kums.
Heerenveen star Sven Kums gave the statisticians something to worry about in his side's match
against Utrecht. The 'left leg', 'right leg' and 'header' columns were all left blank as Kums fired
in from 17 yards with his penis. The gang at 101GG inform us that in Holland this is called a
"snikkelgoal".
Heerenveen's Hoogstandje Van Assaidi scores a brilliant back-heel against Groningen last night,
shame it was off-side.
FC Twente midfielder Emir Bajrami makes an instant impact scoring a wonder goal
just 4 minutes after coming off the bench in FC Twente's 5-1 win over Heerenveen in the Dutch
Eredivsie.

Another strong opening for Altidore, but....(seen here with former USMNT & current Alkmaar
director Ernie Stewart.)
Jozy Altidore opened up his season for his new employers, AZ Alkmaar, early (so so very early)
this morning with only his third league goal in the past 18 months.

United States national team striker Jozy Altidore was introduced at new club AZ Alkmaar on
Wednesday, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal that seals his permanent move from Spanish club
Villarreal.
Altidore, who will wear the No.
AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS Groningen were stunned at home by Roda JC, Excelsior added to Willem II's
misery with another drubbing, while AZ Alkmaar were too strong for Heerenveen. Mads Junker grabbed
a hat-trick as Groningen's impressive home record was tarnished with a 4-1 reverse at the hands of
Roda JC.
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands Ajax Amsterdam squandered a two-goal lead and missed a late penalty to draw
2-2 at Roda JC Kerkrade and lose ground on the Dutch league leaders on Sunday. PSV Eindhoven,
convincing 4-0 winners at AZ Alkmaar on Saturday, are top with 50 points after 23 matches and are
ahead of Twente Enschede, [.
Bas Dost transferred to Heerenveen in the summer, where life is not rosy. However, he's still a
talent and Ajax wanted him to replaced the enormous shoes of Luis Suarez in the winter window, only
the two clubs couldn't come to an accord. Bas wanted the move desperately, taking Heerenveen to
arbitration, and the desperation even reached the levels of his agent telling the press that he
used to sleep in Ajax pajamas.
ENSCHEDE, Netherlands Bryan Ruiz struck in the final minute to hand FC Twente a battling 2-1
victory over Feyenoord in the Eredivisie. Gill Swerts opened the scoring for the visitors on 51
minutes but Twente clawed their way back into contention when Wout Brama popped up with the
equaliser 14 minutes from full-time.
With the news that US international Michael Bradley has been loaned out to EPL side Aston Villa
from Borussia Moenchengladbach until the end of the season, the young midfielder has taken yet
another positive step in his development.
Jeff Carlisle of ESPN.com writes of how Bradley's move to Villa is the next natural progression in
his rise to domestic and international success.

Michael Bradley appears to have played his last game for Borussia Moenchengladbach, with a
transfer expected to be completed before the close of the current transfer window.
Bradley has been linked with a handful of clubs in recent weeks, and Moenchengladbach's signing
of Michael Fink on Thursday set the wheels in motion for a winter transfer for the 23-year-old
Americans.
Luis Suarez is expected to hold talks with Ajax in the next 48 hours in an attempt to convince the
Dutch side to reduce their £30 million asking price and let the Uruguayan striker join
Liverpool.
Ajax have informed Damien Comolli, the Premier League side's director of football strategy, that
only an offer matching their valuation would tempt them to sell the 24 year-old, suggesting the
£12.
Ajax manager Frank de Boer has admitted he wants any potential move by Luis Suarez to Liverpool to
be conducted quickly.
The Reds have reportedly been in contact with the Dutch club regarding Suarez, however the clubs'
valuation of the player is believed to still be some way apart.
The Merseysiders are anxious to add fire-power to their line-up as they have been over-reliant on
Fernando Torres this season which has seen them fall down the Premier League.
DEN HAAG, Netherlands ADO Den Haag climbed into seventh in the Eredivisie with a comfortable 3-1
victory over Heerenveen. Danny Buijs gave the hosts a first-half lead before Charlton Vicento
doubled their advantage shortly after the break. Bas Dost grabbed a goal back for Heerenveen but
Lex Immers struck to seal Den Haag's success.
With the Transfer Window in full swing for Europe's top leagues, many of the United States' top
players are up for moves across the continent. For the most part, the National Team should see
benefit from the new placement of many of its stars and the casual American supporter now has some
new and interesting clubs to follow:
Reus and Bradley.
Ives Galarcep reports that U.S. midfielder Michael Bradley could be headed to
the English Premier League, whose sixth-place Sunderland is lining up an offer to his German club,
Borussia Moenchengladbach.
Bradley is seen as a possible replacement for captain Lee Cattermole, who has been
battling a back injury.
