There is little doubt that playing soccer directly affects one's heath. The amount of physical
activity and the emphasis on proper diet found in competitive soccer clearly reduces the risk and
incidence of health-related problems such as childhood obesity. It also seems that the benefits of
youth sports carry over to adulthood.

Tobin Heath has some skilz. Oh, she's got skills too, but within those skills are some serious
skilz. In fact, as the kids say, she's "just plain sick" when it comes to dribbling. Despite her
youth, Tobin is one of the USA's most skillful players and a dynamic, slashing dribbler who brings
some truly unique qualities to the field.

The last few posts has been too Manchester United/Chelsea/Manchester City heavy so I've decided to
patrol the entire World Wide Web for something different and yet relevant to this website. Found
this photo of Tobin Heath on ONTD FOOTBALL. Different, yet relevant. She's a 21 years old college
senior, plays for the North Carolina Women's [.

For those of you who don't subscribe to the US Women's National Team Blog, you should check it out
as there are some entertaining posts this week.
Whereas the Fake Sigi blog is driven by pure evil and a thirst for the blood of the living, the
USWNT blog is a collection of goofy photos and random behind the scenes video.

U.S. WNT 20 July @ 10:40 PM EST
The U.S. team has arrived in Charleston, S.C. to prepare to face Canada on Wed., July 22 at
Blackbaud Stadium. The match kicks off at 8 p.m. ET and will be televised live on FSC. It's a
little bit "moist" in Charleston, especially as compared to the summer in upstate NY in Rochester,
because as you know, it's not the heat that gets ya, it's the humidity.

Well here we sit broken hearted paid a nickle and (only farted?) haven't scored a goal in the run
of play in 4 games.
Well its clear that we're not going to beat Egypt by a score of 3-0, and I honestly don't think
Brazil will tally more then 3 against Italy. So lets put this game into perspective, this is a game
to see who wants to step up.

The dude has some spare time on his hands thanks to a certain red card from Saturday, so he did a
little Q&A with the awesome dudes at Goal!, The New York Times soccer blog.
He doesn't really have more time on his hands.
But he did do the Q&A.
Now the links:

Just wanted to give an update on my ongoing story of Rafinha (video below), the Brazilian player
that I am trying to help catch on with a team here in the U.S. Well there have been a few tryout
offers from clubs in the USL Division 1 and 2, along with the USL PDL. There hasn't been any
interest yet from any MLS clubs, which is fine.

First off - thanks to Alice and Stephen for the compelling discussion of Obama's choice of Rick
Warren for his inauguration. Time will tell, I suppose, whether Obama is backing away from
promises or working toward an inclusiveness that is, at the moment, feeling disheartening and
frightening. After the hope-to-disappointment trajectory of the Clinton years, [.

Michael Phelps broke Mark Spitz' gold medal record last night -an amazing feat, indeed. I don't
know about you, but I find such milestones diminished by the hype ... the marketing ... the hoopla
... the commentary. The events and the raw footage about the events is enough. The look on Michael

Here's Cindy McCain speaking about "the only way to get around in Arizona." (This is way
too easy ... I think I'm starting to feel a tad mean-spirited and guilty.) I'll get over it,
though. Mark Zeigler writes from San Diego about tonight's USWNT vs. Brazil match-up ... the second
this week. On [.

Yes, I was enraptured by the monsterous flu bug that's been terrorizing cubicled wokplaces across
the country. Or so I'm told. Anyway, I got it, it sucked, I passed out, I went to the ER, I waited,
I waited some more, and 48 hours later, boom! Here's today's post.
*It's been much too long since I last gave the US Women's National Team some love.
