The Oregonian's Geoffrey C Arnold has reported via Twitter that "Eddie Johnson sustained
another concussion during training Monday and has returned 2 [sic] Portland."
Merritt Paulson has also tweeted: "eddie's out indefinitely. His health and well-being are the
#1 priority for everyone in the organization"
This news is a huge setback for the team.
Is Sidney Crosby's NHL career all but over? It's starting to look that way. The superstar for
the Pittsburgh Penguins not only is dealing with post-concussion syndrome, he also has a neck
injury. Crosby is currently seeing specialists and is expecting a diagnosis within the next couple
days.
Pat Brisson, Crosby's agent, had this to say about the neck injury: "The good news is he's
safe.
If you want to make the food at your Super Bowl party a little more healthy this year, it's
definitely possible with a bit of planning and know-how. Celebrity caterer and event planner Andrea
Correale, who's worked with the likes of Mariah Carey, P. Diddy, Jimmy Fallon and Kevin Spacey, has
some great tips on putting out the ultimate tailgate party spread while having healthy options
available for guests who are trying to stay fit.

It looks like we have a player signing before the draft after all. Colombian international and
apparently now former Millonarios player Rafael Robayo announced over Twitter today:
Gracias DIOS por esta linda oportunidad de jugar en la MLS y muchas gracias al Chicago Fire por
haberse interesado en mi como refuerzo
Robayo had also used the social network last week to announce that he was unable to reach an
agreement with his current club.
First, let us be among many, but hopefully not the last, to wish all our readers a Happy New Year.
We wish you blessings, good fortune and health in 2012. We begin a comprehensive look at the Men's

A Liverpool fan has revealed how participating in the club's Action for Health scheme helped
make a vast improvement to his all-round life.

We hate to be the bearer of sad news, but this 1-year-old girl suffered the worst bruises (and
possibly a bone crack above her nose) in the car accident involving Germany's
Lukas Podolski in Cologne two days ago. There is some controversy involved as the child's mother,
Ulrike, has accused Lukas of being ignorant (which is pretty unfair to the
striker, to be honest!
College football's worst kept secret will soon become official: Urban Meyer will be the next
coach at Ohio State. According to sources, Meyer will sign a $40 million deal to take over at a
school that saw Jim Tressel get fired earlier in the year due to a tattoo parlor controversy.
Ohio State, even though they are paying top dollar, must be thrilled.

Looking like a scene from the Temple of Doom, Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito fans
clamber up the fencing at the Casa Blanca Stadium in Ecuador to cheer on their side during a 2-0
Copa Sudamericana semi-final win over Velez Sarsfield last night presumably infringing several
'Health & Safety' guidelines in the process.

During the friendly against Uruguay, it was not only the style of play expectorated out by our boys
in blue that caught the eye, nor simply Riccardo Montolivo's pale, cold, and bewitching face, and
more than just Cesare Prandelli's jacket, it was the dazzling new blue shirts worn by the Azzurri
that truly slapped the mind of this restless footballing warrior (apologies to Elton John for that
metaphor) with the cold hand of seduction, perfumed on the wrist with a heady glamour tinged with
the unearthly fumes of nostalgia, all the while softly intoning in a luscious Pisan accent a call
for it's soft, azure fabric to be worn in sickness and in health, an irresistible siren's call from
an antique realm.
The Premier League might not be playing right now, but that doesn't stop the players from
representing their countries. Taking long flights, scoring or not...and generally making managers
nervous about the state of their health. Not least Harry...

What are the odds UEFA reduce Rooney's ban? Derek McGovern's Bets of the
Day
When you look at England's strike options for the Spain game on Saturday, one thing springs to
mind: Please God force UEFA to reduce Wazza's ban. Darren Bent is 1-5 with Hills to start against
Spain and Gabriel Agbonlahor is 2-5 yet, if Spanish, neither man would be allowed anywhere near a
Spain international ?

Monaco aren't exactly basking in rude health at the moment, languishing down at the arse-end of
the French second tier following their relegation from Ligue 1 last season though Marama Vahirua's
sublime volleyed goal against Le Mans (to equalise with just five minutes left to play) on Saturday
certainly provided a brief distraction from the club's ongoing woes.

It is all too easy to get snobby and sneer at footballers about their (usual) lack of a
high-level education. And too often that sneeriness is borne out of nothing but jealousy at the
fact they get paid shed-loads of money for simply playing football. Still, in the case of poor old
Darren Mackie of Aberdeen, it's hard not to giggle.
We finally know the Al Davis cause of death. The legendary owner of the Oakland Raiders died of
heart related issues. Officially, the cause of death is said to be three things: ventricular
fibrillation, congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathy.
Davis had been in failing health for a long while.
I know this is a bit of a stretch, what with the WC about 10 years away, but follow my train of
thought on this one and see if you disagree.UEFA today announced that the 2012 Euros in
Poland/Ukraine were going to be tobacco free."A tobacco-free EURO 2012 is about respecting the
health of our spectators and everyone else involved in the tournament," said UEFA President Michel
Platini.
Well it wasn't a classic that's for sure. These days it has become apparent to me that waking up at
4:30 Pacific Standard Time to watch my beloved Manchester United is the action of stupid man not
interested in his health and sleeping pattern. Frankly, the past few years has taught me to expect

Now that a result isn't necessary tonight, the lineup is a lot more in question. What we know is
that Kasey Keller will start on a day celebrating he and the fans. We also know that Jeff Parke is
out and Mauro Rosales will be in the 18. Considering that the Seattle Sounders really like winning
in front of home crowds the thought here is that Sigi Schmid will be starting a close to Ideal XI,
but that Rosales only gets a second half run.
When the Brotherly Game originally reported that Philadelphia Union midfielder Keon Daniel would
not return to the team during the 2011, it was based upon information about his visa situation. Now
it appears that Dengue Fever may end Daniel's season whether or not the 25-year-old gets back into
the United States.
Lot of talk in the press over the last two days about Frank Lampard reportedly walking away from
the bench when being an unused substitute in Saturday's 4-1 win over Swansea City.
Lampard has failed to make Andre Villas-Boas' starting line-up for three of the last four
matches. But the game against Swansea was the first time he has not come off the bench.
Trust Valencia to waste no time in ruining my health in the first available 90 minutes. But sho,
in hindsight it was worth it.
Where I come from, we use a word "bok" to describe when something is "very" or "extremely".
Given my emotionally vulnerable state I'm going to be using that word a bok lot in this
write-up.
Every time a semi popular Fire player gets cut, waived or traded there seemingly is someone who
pops up and says something along the lines of "we treated this player poorly" or "he was
underused!" (otherwise known as the Frankowski Axiom). The most recent case of this was career
journeyman Bratislav Ristic.
Why transfer windows are bad for a manager's health
Transfer (trans-fur) verb: relocation; move and displacement. Window (win-doo) noun: opening;
gap; opportunity and chance. For those in football, each transfer window can also be described as a
trap door – an escape hatch or even a walk to the guillotine.
After initially indicating that Brian Mullan would travel with the Colorado Rapids for their
match against the Seattle Sounders on Saturday, coach Gary Smith has apparently changed his mind
and chosen to leave his midfielder back home. Mullan supposedly wanted to make that trip, but Smith
indicated health was at least part of the decision:
"It's a purely personal feeling from my standpoint," Smith said.
Alive and Kicking is a registered charity that operates as a social enterprise. They manufactures
footballs for children, with each ball having a health-related message printed on it to try and
raise awareness about issues such as the spread of AIDs and malaria.
Alive & Kicking Kenya's 2011 road show visited four zones around the sugar town of Mumias in
western Kenya.
When talking to players and coaches about their training they all tell me the same thing, "I want
to work on speed so I can be quicker on the field". Their focus is on speed training but with no
real understanding on what type of speed training they should do. Most of their training involves
sprinting distances in a straight line.

In the first TotalArsenal post for ‘ArsenalArsenal', I focussed on the position of our manager
and came to the conclusion we should let him complete his mission to turn us once again into the
top team we all crave for. In the second TotalArsenal post, I focussed on the positives within our,
young and quickly developing squad and why there is plenty to be upbeat about for next season.

Recent conference alumni getting an early chance in the play offs has been a strong theme of recent
years and Stevenage FC certainly don't seem to have tarried in their first season in the football
league. But when we last featured the Hertfordshire club in advance of what proved to be a
momentous win over Newcastle in the FA Cup in January, they were in far from rude health.
In this edition of Have You Seen This Goal? our good friend Kaka makes an appearance. Kaka has come
under some criticism by Real Madrid supporters for his lack of goals since his big money transfer
from AC Milan, however I believe his lack of form can be entirely attributed to his lack of health
the majority of his tenure at Madrid.
Juan Agudelo is just 18 years old, and has one professional goal to his credit, but he has
already shown enough to have foreign clubs keeping tabs on him.
According to Spanish publication Marca, Atletico Madrid is one of those clubs.
A key Atletico Madrid official attended the Philadelphia Union-New York Red Bulls match, but it
should also be noted that the official is in the United States in search of new strategic alliances
for the Spanish club.
By Jon Levy Our Jon Levy sat down this week with USMNT and Brondby center back Clarence Goodson,

caused him to miss the two March friendlies. They talked about his health, the upcoming Gold Cup,
the future of [.
Being a professional athlete entails many things. You run, lift weights, practice techniques, and
run through plays in order to prepare for the game. The game takes 90 minutes or so. During that
time, a player will run at least 7 miles and be "tackled" at least three times. With a nine month
season, it's no wonder why so many players get hurt.
Eric Abidal's agent has revealed the Barcelona defender is progressing well after surgery to
remove a tumour on his liver.
The 31-year old France international had surgery last week and his representative David
Venditelli told COM Radio last night he is "recovering well", is in "good spirits" and awaiting the
results of a biopsy to "see if everything is fine".
FC Barcelona has just released a statement to inform us that King Abidal, our Abidazzling
defender, has been diagnosed with a liver tumour. He will undergo surgery on Friday and out of
respect for his privacy, he wishes for no more details to be given out.
At the moment, I am too sad and worried to think about *this* means to our defence, but I'm sure
than when I think about it, I'll be even more sad and worried.
Chivas USA continues to make deals. Today, they traded midfielder Sal Zizzo to the Portland
Timbers in exchange for allocation money.
The 23-year old played in 10 games last season with Chivas while contributing one assist. He was
acquired by Chivas USA in a weighted lottery after signing with MLS in July 2010.
