In my last post on MLS' future, I postulated that the television rights deals of the future will
determine the level of play we will see on the field. I also stated that it is my belief that MLS
must offer a better quality product on the field in order to achieve higher fees. Kind of a chicken
or egg dilemna.

TV Rules
The number one item that should be on the agenda for MLS officials should be has to be the
preservation of the TV rights contracts.
Why do I believe that TV holds the future of MLS in its grasp? Because it's already saved the
league once. And as of now, it could be argued that the contracts might not even be extended at the
current price, or not extended at all(unlikely).

Here at World Club Rankings, you know what we like – Club Football. Unfortunately, we will
not get very much of that this weekend as almost every top domestic league in the world goes into a
little hiatus for World Cup 2010 qualifiers. That means that only one club form the most recent WCR
Top 25 is in action (Gremio) and the only club matches on television here in the States are MLS
matches.

Revolution in the Superliga group stage.

Good afternoon all. Today is a relatively light schedule as four teams continue their SuperLiga

David Beckham's return to New York leads the way as the golden one plays in front of a packed
Giants Stadium today.

Part one of four is now complete - that being the draw at Dallas. Could have been a loss, should
have been a win. Couldn't watch it thanks to the people at HDNet, so I am going to let it slide
with few comments. Up next is today's match against the Sounders. From what I've seen, Onalfo is
starting a reserve-heavy squad, giving some regulars a chance to catch their breath.

What the weekend lacks for in quantity, it makes up for in quality as the Euro 2008 tournament

the team from New York.

air. Claudio Reyna is still injured.

Toronto Fried Chicken comes calling at RFK with pretty much only the draft in mind. I guess
crashing DC United's Supporter's Shield Party would also be a decent consolation prize. DC will not
be overlooking Toronto as they need the points to continue on the path to the Shield.
United will be at full strength while TFC will be missing Sutton (GK), Dichio (F), and O'Brien (M)
which are some of their better players.
