Good from the Arsenal. I'm popping online about 5 hours after the match, and none of the blogs I
read have updated.
Van Persie scored the opener. This match was available stateside in HD. ESPN is doing a good job
with their EPL coverage - much better than they had done with their CL coverage.

We sincerely hope that one day all marketers will realise the true value in using a
half-nekkid footballer to sell products to women.
For example, if there was some sort of click-to-buy service attached to these images from
jeweller Rosich Joiers, we would currently be the proud owner of several leather-look blazers, a
bed, a white ladder and all the beaded bracelets our shaking-with-glee little wrists could
carry.

The Dynamo had a game last night? I was flipping between Kimbo Slice on The Ultimate Fighter and
Meatloaf on Ghost Hunters. I completely forgot about the Dynamo. I guess that's what happens when
you prefer watching things that are entertaining. Oh well.
The Dynamo lost to Pachuca 1-0 in CONCACRAP action.

Welcome to the first blog written on my shiny new laptop. Well, to be fair, I've had it for
about three weeks, but have been so terrified of getting it dirty due to it's phenomenal price tag,
that it has sat in a corner for about three weeks. It is, without doubt, the most expensive thing I
have ever owned, and when you think that it was also a gift, it's no wonder I've been scared of
it.

Now suspend your disbelief for a minute, and imagine the following scenario. What would you say
if you had the following service available online?
- A mix channel where you could watch up to nine games all once on your screen (or you could
watch one at a time, or a few at a time your choice),
- High-quality streaming video compatible on a PC/Mac,
- HD quality picture (where available),
- Live game DVR functionality,
- Live game picture-in-picture,
- Player tracker,
- Home and away feeds (where available),
- Live game radio option (where available),
- Archived and condensed games,
- Best of all, all games would be available online (unless you live in the area near the home
team in which case, the live Internet streaming would be blacked out), and
- Last but not least, a very reliable service that would be dependable and would actually work
flawlessly.

Looks like the Bundesliga is where it's at, Kickettes.
Case in point: Luca Toni's arse to the wind activities pitch side at the Bayern Munich game on
Tuesday. (Also note the sparkle in the eye of the woman to the far right of the pic, and the "I
will never forget this moment as long as I live" expression on homeboy in the tie.

Dude, don't get a Dell. Saturday morning was primed to be a bellwether test of trying to
successfully cycle three different concurrently airing Premier League matches. Instead, it quickly
morphed into an exercise in erring when my laptop wouldn't turn on. So goodbye Manchester

The hype for the October release of FIFA 10 is building, and it's no wonder when you see video
like this (see above) featuring some of the amazing new skills and graphics.
The video is beautifully created by 16-year-old Norwegian Marius Hjerpseth. In it, the whiz kid
shows actual game footage and then shows video from FIFA 10 and includes instructions on how to
make the new moves.

Not that I have a particular affinity for Real Madrid or Kaka --although he is without a doubt the
best chaste footballer from Brazil currently playing in Europe-- but I do appreciate the dramatic
music and editing of this video. That and it's always a treat to see Ben Olsen get thrown to the
ground in HD.

Admit it, you had serious concerns when Fox Sports scored the rights to the UEFA Champions
League. Unproven American announcers, no HD and uncertainty about Fox's experience covering club
soccer's most prestigious event had many American soccer fans wondering if they were necessarily
getting an upgrade from ESPN coverage.

A couple months ago when the news broke that ESPN lost the UEFA Champions League rights to Fox,
most of the responses I read here and elsewhere were negative and somewhere along the lines of,
"there's no HD and Max Bretos sucks."This was surprising. I figured the less Tommy Symth in your
life -- the better.

As for the TV coverage in September... On Tuesday and Wednesday Fox has first pick and it remains
to be seen whether that first pick will be on FSC or FSN. Setanta has 2nd pick. Fox has 3rd which
will go on FSC or FSN. Fox has 4th pick which will go on Fox Sports Espanol. Setanta gets the rest,
I think.
