West Bromwich Albion 1-2 Swansea City Premier League 4th February 2012

Swansea registered only their second away league win of the season at the Hawthorns on Saturday, after a hard fought victory against West Brom.

There were simply too many prying eyes on the fiddle.

Manchester United took a big step towards their 20th league title by moving level on points with leaders Manchester City, who were held 0-0 at West Brom, following a 5-0 victory against Wigan.

United, who thrashed Fulham 5-0 five days ago and Wigan suffered the same fate with the help of Dimitar Berbatov's hat-trick (41, 58, 78).

Manchester United face Wigan, Manchester City face West Brom, Liverpool face Blackburn, Chelsea face Fulham. Four of the strongest teams in the land, all apart from Manchester City are at home, against three of the weakest travelling teams in the country and the other, West Brom, with a dismal home record.

While the rest of European football shuts down for a well-earned break at Christmas time there is no such luxury in the United Kingdom. It has long been a traditional within the Home Nations to continue over the festive period and this season will should see some interesting action.

Liverpool's brief road swing continues (and wraps up) tomorrow night in Wigan, with the Reds looking to continue a bounce-back after the Fulham loss that's seen them win their last two fairly comfortably despite relatively narrow score lines. Wigan will be in a similar spot after getting points in four of their last five, including an away win at the Hawthorns after faltering badly at home to Arsenal, and, in their last outing, saving a late draw against Chelsea at the DW on Saturday.

Tonight Chelsea have a chance to get another important three points as we take on Wigan at the DW. Our recent run has been impressive beating the likes of Newcastle and Manchester City in the Premier League but it's games like tomorrow that Chelsea have to ensure they approach the same way. Our good run will all come to nothing if we do not perform tomorrow.

For me, this game is harder than the Villa game. Villa is a team that we've dominated at home over the past decade, whereas West Brom away is one of those Jekyll and Hyde games. You don't know what West Brom team is going to turn up, but they are capable of getting something out of us. There was some frustration that the Reds didn't fully capitalise on their superiority in the game and run up a big score, but after a number of game this season in which their profligacy cost them points, the most important factor was that they simply claimed all three.
