It was a big night for the Missouri Comets as they set multiple records at the Independence Events
Center in their 33-12 rout over the Syracuse Silver Knights. They set a team record for the largest
margin of victory since the teams rebirth, with 21. They tied a league record with 3 players
recording a hattrick (Byron Alvarez, Geison, and Vahid Assadpour).
The Missouri Comets wrapped up the Turnpike Trophy last night in Wichita taking out the Wings 13-10
to take the season series with a game remaining. KC now has 4 wins to Wichita's 1. Missouri opened
the game quickly, as Brian Harris blasted a 3 point goal only 2 minutes into the game to give the
Comets the lead.
Mame Biram Diouf has claimed that Wigan are amongst several clubs who are interested in signing
him on loan this January.
After an average loan spell at Blackburn last season, scoring 6 goals in 29 games, including a
hattrick against Norwich in the League Cup and a goal against Arsenal, he is hoping to end the
season well so he can get in United's team next year.
The Christmas fixtures brought about a change in team line ups. Clubs which could afford to rest
key players relied on their bench to tide them over this hectic time. This meant first team starts
for a trio of Premier League superstars who have somewhat faded from this season's football action.
1. How do you make hard work out of beating Wigan? Change your team around and play everyone out
of position. I was looking forward to a late Christmas present in the form of United blowing Wigan
out of the water, like usual, then the manager had to go and spoil it all. Carrick, our best player
of recent weeks, shifted in to defence.
The mood surrounding Liverpool may have improved with the return of Kenny Dalglish, but with a
pair each of losses and draws to go along with four wins as he and the club entered March, that
renewed optimism hadn't always led to results. At least, though, there was a widespread feeling
that it had become a squad capable of turning the proverbial corner and going on a run if they
could only manage to make all the pieces fit together.
We really should win.
Squillaci cost us two points last season in this fixture with an own goal in the 81st
minute.
There are are must-win games because a team needs points late in the season or to progress in a
tournament, and then there are these kind of games (of which Fulham at home was one).
Other than against Bolton, Liverpool played their best football of the season against an
out-of-sorts Manchester City last weekend. Due to their physical exertions in the Champions League,
the Citizens looked short of match fitness and were sluggish against the mighty Reds. But that does
not take away a great performance by Liverpool at Anfield.

In the final game of the year for Sporting KC, the Swope Park Rangers finished out the reserve
league season today at Swope Park against FC Dallas. The Rangers fell 5-3 to Dallas as Ruben Luna
scored 4 goals to help Dallas to the win. Luna opened the scoring in the 28th minute. Jeferson
equalized for the reserves in the 37th from the penalty spot after Soony Saad was fouled in the
box.
One of the Gunners' most recent youngsters to hit the headlines of late is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
who, at just 18 years of age, has already managed a hattrick at Under-21 level for England and has
scored twice for Arsenal in just four appearances. Now, with the pair of friendlies coming up
against Spain and Sweden [.

Match Report
After THAT win against the Chavs, the big question for this match was: should we start with an
unchanged team, or make a number of changes in order to keep our great momentum going?
This was a difficult call for Wenger: although a win would be great, it was not a necessity –
after all, a draw would keep us top of the group tonight and then there was to be considered the
risk of fatigue/injury, as a result of potentially overplaying those players who pushed themselves
to the very limit only 80 hours ago.
Seven wins, 27 goals, a comeback of the decade and only one nil-nil draw in sight: last week's
round of Serie A action was a far cry from the previous week's stalemates. A Kevin-Prince Boateng
hattrick helped Milan to a 4-goal turnaround at Lecce, Inter squeezed past Chievo and Lazio crept
into second, but the real story came at the Friuli.
Arsène Wenger has vowed not to hurry into starting young star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain too soon.
The 18 year-old Englishman – who bagged a terrific hattrick for the Under-21s last time out –
has been seen as a replacement for Walcott, with others wanting to see him play in the central
position up front for the [.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has tonight scored a hat-trick for England Under-21's against Iceland in a
European Championships qualifying match. If you take into account his last two Arsenal starts he
has now scored five goals in three games, which leads me to ask why was he not even included on the
bench against Spurs at the [.
By January of last season, Dimitar Berbatov had scored more hattricks for Manchester United than
Wayne Rooney had goals, as we chased down that historic 19th title. Berbatov ended the season the
league's top scorer with 20 goals and United knocked the scousers off their perch.
After failing to fully justify his massive price tag in the first two seasons it was great to
see our Bulgarian play such a vital role in such a massive season for the club.
Not only Messi started to score wonderful Hattricks again, but he seems that he is aiming for
something really big this season. Each of the three goals was a really beautiful one, but the
highlight of the game was the amazing run that he almost scored another "Maradonian" historical
goal till Amaranto Perea did a very smart tackle and made Messi fans miss a great opportunity to
add another great goal to the memories.
What's the difference between Blackburn and a "woman for hire"? Everyone scores on Blackburn. Demba
Ba is looking like an absolute steal for Newcastle as he nets a hattrick in a 3-1 trouncing of
Rovers. Carroll who? And keep an eye on this Hoilett kid. He's get some serious tenacity and has
been doing everything right for a Blackburn team that does everything else wrong.
After scoring two goals in our 3-0 win over Leeds United in the League Cup last night, Michael
Owen has insisted he will only be happy if he's playing more regularly and isn't here for the
money.
"I'm not content if I'm not playing," he said. "I get criticised a lot with things
like 'you don't play, you pick your money up' and all the rest of it but I'm not proud of that
fact.
1. After spending most of last season dreading our away games, how thoroughly refreshing it was
to see United put in a performance like that at a ground we often struggle at. When the chants of
"Are you Arsenal in disguise?" started, with us 3-0 up after 25 minutes, you knew it was going to
be a good day.
Well all I can say is this is really a fun start to the season. It may be very unrealistic to
expect this young Manchester United team to maintain this kind of torrid scoring pace and
incredible form for an entire season but we can dream can't we? Today's contest was truly another
massacre in [...]
Sergio Aguero scores his first City hat-trick with three cool finishes to keep up
Manchester City's 100% record for the season against Wigan at the Etihad Stadium.
Netherlands:
The international Dutch striker scored an awesome goal for PSV vs. Ried, I love those types of
goals a lot,
Interesting to watch: the same goal from a camera fan from stadium
Italy/Spain:
Next, is Cavani disallowed wonderful goal vs. Barcelona in the 0-5 friendly
But, what was more amazing, is this wonderful goal by Barcelona signed by Messi after 32 pass
Well, this year seems the same as last year, Real Madrid winning 6-0, next day Barca winning 5-0.
SPANISH FOOTBALL - Soccer - kicked off this weekend with Round 2 of LA LIGA - last week players
striker moves Round 1 to another future date - with nine games of the Spanish League. Was great
to see the Football relaxing with a weekend break, but I am also glad to be back & posting up some
results for the regular readers.
Matchday 1 of the new Spanish season flew by spectacularly over the weekend as Real Madrid put six
past Real Zaragoza with Cristiano Ronaldo bagging a hat-trick. New season, same old s***. Jose
Murinho's men recorded another thumping win as they began their quest to overhaul champions
Barcelona with a astounding 6-0 demolition of Real [.
Peter Hill-Wood: Another prick on the wall
The saddest part of Arsenal's annihilation at Old Trafford is not the scoreline which is in
itself a reflection of a heartless and cruel policy of turning to ingenues to save the club's
season. That it was done by a Utd side that had its share of injuries and untested talent filling
in huge shoes left by Paul Scholes, Edwin Van Der Sar, Nemanja Vidic, and Rio Ferdinand inflicted
the deepest cut and left Wenger's bragging rights of turning to youth for provenance in
tatters.
After each match the contributors to New England Soccer Today will rate the performances of
the New England Revolution players who made an appearance on a 1 to 10 scale (1 horrendous, 5
average, 10 perfection). This week Sean Donahue and Brian O'Connell contributed ratings for the New
England Revolution's 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls on Saturday.
Not sure what happened to the original game thread but in the absence of it use this to post
comments.
San Jose has a serious threat at its disposal when they take the field tomorrow night. I am, of
course, speaking about Chris Wondolowski, the Golden Boot winner for 2010. So far this year he's
taking a similar path with 8 goals total.

Nepal is going to play against Bangladesh in its first SAFF U-16 Championship Football Tournament
match tomorrow at its home venue Dasharath Stadium, Kathamndu. Nepal is in Group B of this
tournament alongside Bangladesh and Srilanka.
Nepal has to finish in top two spot in order to progress to the semi-finals of the SAFF U-16
Championship Football Tournament.
Dimitar Berbatov was last season's Premier League top scorer, although the 20 league goals he
scored weren't enough to even get him a place on the bench for the Champions League final.
Berbatov watched the game from the dressing room, to keep his emotions hidden, something he
claims has lead fans to misjudge him over the years.
Mame Biram Diouf has been strongly linked with a move away from the club, with Blackpool and
Blackburn apparently interested in signing him on a permanent basis.
Diouf joined the club 18 months ago but has spent a whole season on loan at Blackburn, with his
highlights including a hattrick against Norwich in the League Cup and scoring against Arsenal in
his first start for the club.
The Sounders made a match of it till halftime only down by a Michael Owen goal. After the break
they pulled a number of their starters as Utd introduced Wayne Rooney and Ji Sung Park to the
attack. Utd got going as Rooney scored a hattrick and then with eyes at the back of his head
assisted on a Ji Sung Park goal.
SOURCE: REPUBLICAKATHMANDU, June 4: Ganesh Lawati netted all four goals in the 4-0
victory of Armed Police Force (APF) over Mega Three Star Club to dash its title hopes in the
Martyrs Memorial Red Bull A Division League Football which resumed on Monday after a break of about
a week.
In 1996, Zagalo entered the Olympic with a dream Brazilian team to win the only title that Brazil
never won so far. That team was almost the one that won the world cup in 2002. It had Rivaldo,
Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Dida, Bebeto, and many other stars.
I used to say for people who doubts the big progress of the AfroAsian football, that the time came
when we see Brazil loses to a team from Asia (first round Brazil lost to Japan 0-1) and a team from
Africa (SF Brazil lost to Nigeria 3-4) in a span of two weeks.

KC plays their second home game of the season tomorrow when they take on the San Jose Earthquakes
at LiveSTRONG Sporting Park. The Quakes come into the game having not lost since April 30th to the
Philadelphia Union. That's a span of 8 games in all competitions, 6 in league play, including last
week's 4-2 win in DC.
Whilst watching England's latest debacle unfold, I kept hearing blunt phrases and outbursts
hurled at the TV such as ‘That Walcott is bloody useless!', ‘what's he doing now?!?', ‘Oh God
not Walcott again' and ‘DO SOMETHING WITH THE BALL YOU MUPPET!!'. Then I realised it was my
voice.
Only one of Sporting Kansas City's Gold Cup call ups made the field tonight. Shavar Thomas started
and played the full game for Jamaica as they took out Guatemala 2-0 thanks to two goals by Demar
Phillips. The Jamaicans now sit on top of their group as the only team to win both of their games
with a plus 6 goal difference.
