Ian Edward Wright, known now by many a name but during in footballing career he was fondly known
as ‘Wrighty'.
Born in the fine year of 1963, he went on to be a half decent striker at Crystal Palace and then
Arsenal and boy, did he love to score!
He had a bit of a strange start to his career in football, he had trials at both Southend and
Brighton while in his teenage years but neither club thought he was good enough and let him go on
his merry way.

good a place as any to keep tabs, but only if they're properly secured with Velcro.

Actually, a lot... pretty much every football trivia question ever in fact. Thanks to Steve
(from whom you can also find all the answers).
Question 1
Name 4 teams out of the 92 in England (Premiership, Championship and Divisions 1-2), who start

Don't know how others feel, but I'm pretty fed up with reading the football news, its either
about Cesc going to Barca, or Cesc going to Barca so instead I thought over the next few days I
would take a look back at a few ‘loved ones' from the team in red and white. Feel free to let me
know if it's a stupid idea
Today is all about John Radford just for our newly married blogger Big Raddy.

ESPN has taken more than their fair share of stick for their football/soccer coverage, and for
good reason. They're American (despite dubbing themselves The Global Leader) and, by and large,
they do American sports well. Others: not so much.
But they've gone off-script with their latest venture, the Soccer Power Index, designed to
render World Cup 2010 moot.

In Bob Bradley's search for Jozy Altidore's strike partner now that Charlie Davis is
unfortunately out for six months or more recovering from that horrific car crash.
Johnson has always been an enigma. Great promise and an ability to get behind defenses with his
speed. His was a blazing start with the MNT as he scored 7 goals in the 2006 World Cup qualifiers
including a goal on debut against El Salvador and a hat trick three days later against Panama.

Everyone I have spoken to or who has texted me says the same thing. That Indonesia were crap and
that the Uruguay adventure has been a waste of time and money. So there you have it. Everyone says
it so it must be true.
But before I jump on that particular bandwagon...
The opening 15 or 20 minutes were as good as anything I've seen from any Indonesian football team
since I took up my computer to begin these rambles.

Australia's second game of the 2009 under-16 AFC championships has just wrapped up and it's another
win for the Aussie team. Which means, barring any huge upsets, they have made it through to the
semi-finals of the titles. To make it to next year's under-17 FIFA women's World Cup, they need to
finish in the top-three so it means they are halfway there.

Is there hope for Pompey? Maybe if you're an eternal optimist. I just like to think of it as
something that Portsmouth fans can reminisce about next season when they are taking the Coca Cola
Championship by storm. That is just where the state of Pompey football is at the moment. One 4-0
victory is not going to suddenly turn things around for the better, but for that to happen,
Piquionne and Dindane are going to have to put in these types of performances week in and week
out.

Portsmouth were sitting at rock bottom after seven Premiership rounds and they
had always been expected to struggle after they could only reinforce the squad in the dying moments
of the transfer window due to the uncertainty surrounding the club. Nevertheless,
Paul Hart's team have shown a massive improvement in the last few weeks having taken no less than
seven points from last four games.

FC Porto will look to lock up second place in Group D with a win against Nicosia. The 2-1
victory a fortnight ago did not represent the game. Porto out-played the Romanian side for the
better part of the game and Hulk should have had a hat-trick at least.

Marta has won the award three times in succession.
Here's FIFA's list of the male and female nominees as announced today.

Normally the points in this fixture are rather an irrelevance, but this time there is more at
stake than just bragging rights. The sides go into the game separated only by goal difference, and
the three points up for grabs could prove crucial come May. Ultimately, league position is the
gauge, and this season for a change we have a realistic chance of finishing above l'Arse.
