Weber transfers to UW-Green Bay

The top goal scorer in Wisconsin prep boys soccer history will continue his college career in the state.

James Weber (Hartford) is transferring from Xavier to UW-Green Bay, the school announced Tuesday.

Weber scored three goals in 12 appearances (two starts) for the Musketeers (12-5-4) as a freshman last fall.

However, with Hurricane Irene churning up the coast, it makes sense to put off the stadium discussion until next week. Three players from Wisconsin teams were named to the National Premier Soccer League All-Star team, which is set to play three matches over the next week.

Hartford's Anthony Santaga (Green Bay Notre Dame) and North Carolina's Carlos McCrary, both midfielders from the Madison 56ers, and Mountain State defender Pedashoo Deneus from Eau Claire Aris FC are part of the 21-player roster.

Here in Portugal, Studio 90 sat down Hope Solo to get an update on her recovery from major shoulder surgery and we'll have a video on ussoccer.com in a few days. Sneak preview: she's doing very well.
