QPR 0-3 Liverpool Good to see Liverpool return to winning ways with an accomplished display at Loftus road in beating Harry Rednapp's Queen's Park Rangers 3-0. Good to see Luis Suarez getting two goals and tormenting the opposition throughout the game. Good to see a high-tempo passing game which utterly bamboozled the home side for an hour.
The great thing about football is that there is always another game around the corner.
This match against Harry Rednapp's QPR offers Liverpool Football Club a chance at redemption following their poor showing in the defeat at Stoke on Boxing day.
Liverpool are hoping to tempt Tottenham's Peter Crouch back to Anfield with a bid of £10 million
pounds.
Roy Hodgson is anxious to add more firepower to his squad before the start of the new season and
hopes he can persuade Harry Rednapp to release the England striker from his team.
It is believed that that Crouchy is willing to return to his former club and has the full support
of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, n fact, they are both urging the manager to make the bid.
Quick scribbling on Clint's move to Spurs before the weekend. Hardly
proofread.
A Twitter-refreshing-exhausted US fan base exhaled in relief Friday as the United States chief
attacking export, Clint Dempsey, settled in down the street at White Hart Lane.
It's going to be all Southampton FC alum hype this week. Tomorrow it be Theo Walcott who will
grab the hype for Arsenal as they battle Barcelona, again, in the Champion's League.
Today, of course, it's Gareth Bale....
Gosh, I really don't want Robinho back in the news...
• Tottenham Hotspur attempt to turn the lights out on AC Milan
I was amazed earlier today (wed) when the jury at Southwark Crown Court found Harry Rednapp
innocent of avoiding tax payments in an off-shore account in Monaco.
The Spurs Supremo had been under investigation for five years by the Inland Revenue concerning his
HBSC account in Monaco's tax haven.
After another frustrating draw at Anfield, this time against Spurs, Liverpool had to settle for a
scoreless draw with the Londoners.
Despite taking the game to 3rd placed Tottenham, Liverpool failed to break down a stubborn defence
in which Dawson, King and Parker at times excelled at repelling everything Liverpool threw at them.
With Liverpool facing Harry Rednapp's Spurs next Monday night,
statistics over the years show that Liverpool have the edge over Tottenham in the Primiership down
the years as shown in the graph below.
However, in the last three games between the two sides its Spurs who are on top with a thumping 4-0
beating of Liverpool, preceded
by a 2-0 defeat at Anfield last May.
Joe Cole is at a very big crossroads in his football career.
The 29 year old Liverpool midfielder has not had a good 12 months at Anfield.
Sent off on the first day of last season's opening game against Arsenal, he has struggled to make
an impression in the the team ever since.
Signed on a free from Chelsea by Christian Purslow (idiot) and Roy Hodgson, the England
International has failed to get game-time under Kenny Dalglish since January.
Harry Rednapp's faltering Spurs side dropped more points again this evening, at home to
Blackpool.
Charlie Adam put the Tangerines in front with a successful penalty kick, having had one saved
minutes earlier by Gomez.
Blackpool were looking good for all 3 points until a great strike by Jermaine Defoe on 89mins saved
Harry's and Tottenham's blushes.
Following the goalless draw at the Lane on Sunday, the media have, rather predictably, focused
on United and their chances of staying unbeaten this season, rather than the fact that Spurs should
have inflicted their first defeat.
Harry Redknapp, speaking on the club's official website said: "Chances were few and far between
but I felt we edged the game.

over Germany last night, a group of bemused German journalists were left wondering why patriotic
Englishman Harry Redknapp is so passionate about the remnants of his cigarette!

Let us start here. There is light and there is darkness, there is good and there is evil, there
is N5 and then there is N17. N5 is blessed with parks, glorious architecture, fine restaurants,
great bars and the finest football stadium in Britain; whereas N17 is a total toilet, the parks
littered with dogshit, Â litter and hoodlums, the architecture can only be described as urban
wasteland, the restaurants vary from appalling to mediocre, the bars imbue such depression that
suicide is an attractive alternative, and the football ground (it cannot be called a stadium) is a
complete joke.
Tottenham boss Harry Rednapp has insisted he is 'loyal to Spurs' in the wake of
increasing speculation linking the the 63-year-old to the vacant manager's job at Liverpool.
Redknapp has been receiving a multitude of plaudits of late after guiding Spurs to a fourth
place finish in the Premier League last term, thus securing a place in next season's Champions
League and has recently emerged as one of the favourites to succeed Rafa Benitez
at the Anfield helm.
"Please God, he'll still be here in February. Robbie's here. He is the captain and very
important to us, unless someone comes up with £50m or something for him." Harry Rednapp, January
8th 2010.
It's no wonder that Harry has a reputation for being a bit shady. When he first came to Spurs I
was really impressed by how upfront he was, until I realised that none of his soundbites were worth
the breath which they floated towards us on.
Liverpool have beaten Spurs 2-0 at Anfield, thanks to two goals from Dutchman Dirk Kuyt.
The Reds faced a tough game against Harry Rednapp's team who are ahead of Liverpool in fourth
place, so a home win was imperative.
So a fifth minute goal involving Aquilani and Kuyt was just the start that Rafa and his team
needed.

The football season in Europe is almost over and so on this week's main report for
languagecaster we have three fans talking about how their teams performed during the season just
gone by.
The surreal nature of watching your team at midnight on a hotel TV in Laos - complete with the
electricity cutting out every 15 minutes - was one thing but watching Tottenham collapse in 25
second-half minutes alongside my Manchester United supporting brother was another. Painful? What do
you think?
As the Irishman said when asked the way to Dublin: 'Well sir if I were you I wouldn't start from
here in the first place'. Most fans would agree that where we are now is not a good place to start
for anywhere.
When is the right time to take stock, to step off the merry-go-round, and see where we are and what
we've got, to re-examine our decisions in the light of our history and tradition.
Here are some words and phrases you can hear on this week's languagecaster's Good, Bad and Ugly
section of the podcast. For more English practice check out our worksheets, football glossary and
English for football phrases. Fierce rivals: Strong enemies, when a really negative feeling exists
between clubs Example: Fierce rivals Liverpool were held at lowly Stoke [.
LASSANA DIARRA: With five DMs on Real's roster and Lassana
Diarra allegedly being told that he'll be riding the bench next season, the French
international is looking to move away from Bernabeu. The primary suitor seems to be Spurs, and
Lassana's ex-boss at Pompey, Harry Rednapp.
So, as you probably already knew Mark Hughes plans to play a first-team squad for Manchester City's
Carling Cup tie with Arsenal today at Eastlands in a bid to actually win a game. According to the
Arsenal official newsletter, "Arsene Wenger will not be tempted to follow suit." Wenger, sometimes
called "Professor" due to his professorial (French) way of speaking, further explained that "the
Carling Cup is a competition that is not one of our priorities, but we go to City to win.
Benjani Mwaruwari is caught between the fire and the frying pan. He is technically still a
Portsmouth player and the transfer fiasco that occurred on Thursday night when he arrived late at
Manchester City and could only partially rush through the paperwork implies that all is not well
for the Zimbabwean international striker.
Tottenham manager Harry Rednapp was, amazingly, cleared of corruption allegations raised in the
book I mention below in the previous post.
With managers on the take the "Brian Clough" or "George Graham" syndrome of getting $100,000 in
cash or in Graham's case maybe $500,000 in a Jersey bank account for a player transferring in or
out of their club makes for interesting reading and many football fans will have followed these
stories.
This season Portsmouth are not fighting for survival. Instead they are in top half of the table and
are actually fighting for a UEFA Cup spot. Manager Harry Redknapp has been this January importing
the players that he needs for the reinforcement of his squad and it appears that he is done with
the [.
In this week\'s review of the footballing action we focus on the start of the African Cup of
Nations and we wonder why stamps in Manchester and Madrid go unpunished.
Liverpool face a tough game against Spurs on Sunday afternoon.
Harry Rednapp's side turned us over last season 2-0, ending our bid for Europe for the Season.
Its a crucial game for Liverpool having cruelly lost to Stoke last Saturday, we need at least a
draw at Spurs to stay with the top teams.
Ther are lots of very confusing Arsenal transfer rumours around today, especially with the Mirror
saying that Tottenham are now favourites to sign Joe Cole. I thought that it was all done and
dusted and he was coming to Arsenal? It seems not. The Mirror says that because of Harry Rednapp's
close relationship with the [.
I've often asked myself what I'd be doing if I hadn't chosen my current career. For some, the
answer to this question is easy. Take Peter Crouch. When asked what he would be if he wasn't a
footballer, Peter famously quipped, "A virgin". For others, the answer is already obvious to many.
If our man Harry Rednapp wasn't a Premiership football manager, he'd probably be a second hand car
salesman.
