What exactly did Dalglish mean by "If that's the level they [the players] expect this football club
to play at, they won't be here long"?

Video highlights and reaction match report -
So Carling Cup defeat last night, and late defeat at that, but the overwhelming sense I have
this morning is that of team that deserved more. Arsenal's youngsters, combined with some
experience, more than held their own against the most expensively assembled squad in modern
football.
Manchester City secured a place in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup as Sergio Aguero
punished Arsenal on the break to give Roberto Mancini's side a 1-0 win at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal, protecting an unbeaten home record against City that stretched for 36 years and
encompassed 28 games, were the superior side in a contest between two much-changed teams, but after
being denied by some superb goalkeeping from Costel Pantilimon were undone by a ruthless finish
from Aguero after 83 minutes.
Arsene went with a 4-4-2 in a system that was designed to give games to players rather than a
clear tactical move. Mancini retained his 4-3-3 but was surprisingly defensive in his approach with
Kolarov playing as a left winger, at least for half an hour!
The first half was largely uneventful with neither side really creating many chances.
£35M Gamble Fails...Time to Walk On from Andy Carroll
I've written two articles on here before saying why I felt Fernando Torres and Raul Mereiles
should be sold so that Liverpool Football Club can move forward. The vast majority of replies I had
to those articles said I was losing the plot and didn't know what I was talking about.

Like thousands of Manchester United fans and possibly many City ones, I cannot decide what to make
of the shock, free transfer move by Owen Hargreaves to the blue side of town. Why? By all...

Transfer are always the talking point during pre-season (and for many, the lack of them).
Obviously we're all much more aware of what's been happening here in Albion and the big money
transfers, but around Europe teams have been snapping up bargains all over the show, so we have
compiled an eleven of players signed up in what may turn out to be inspired deals.
FINALLY, at long last, the Premier League has seen the light! BBC Sport reports that "The Premier
League has changed their rules on so called 'weakened' teams. Top flight clubs will now be
allowed...

United spend 50m before July 1st, but who will they sign for central midfield? - originally
posted on Soccerlens.com
Manchester United have taken their spending to 50m in the close season as David De Gea flew in
today to undergo his medical, making him the third player to be signed in this transfer window by
the 19-time English champions.
Manchester United have been missing a special player in the centre of the park for sometime.
Gennaro Gattuso, Michael Essien, Michael Ballack and Mesut Özil are amongst some of the top class
players we've missed out whilst our midfield has gradually deteriorated.
Gone are the days when we could afford to have players of Roy Keane and Paul Scholes' quality in
the team, then still splash £28m on someone like Juan Sebastián Verón.
The Premier League have today published the names of players who are available on a free transfer
this summer. Five

Transfer rumours are a dime a dozen. Very few have genuine substance so they should always be taken

International friendlies! Meaningless spectacle! Corrupt international federations profiting!
Needless injuries going into the most important part of the season!
Yep, it's my favorite. It's that time of year again. That time of year when, right in the middle
of the tension and drama of the season, players have to leave their clubs to go play bullshit
meaningless matches that no one gives a crap about so that the corrupt international federations
can have plenty of money to bribe FIFA with, and players can get injured and impact the race for
trophies.
