Happy New Year! Dave and Mark are back to try and piece together the RBNY roster puzzle. Who's
coming? Who's going? Who's staying? We're then joining by Red Bulls beat writer Brian Lewis who has
a very shrewd premonition of a roster prediction. Then the SR boys answer a great bunch of tweets
and emails.
Happy New Year to you and yours, Dynamo fans. Its been a hectic holiday season for me, with
travel back to the glorious H-Town, family flooding in shortly afterwards, and two new nephews
experiencing their first Christmas season. While watching them, alight with the holiday spirit,
attacking wrapping paper with carnal fury, I had an epiphany of sorts.

First of all I should start this piece by wishing everybody a happy new year! I've been enjoying
myself over the Christmas holiday and have neglected the blog over the last few days so I need to
rectify this, starting off with a piece regarding the new Emperor's Cup winners in Japan.
FC Tokyo have done an unlikely league and cup double in Japan following their 4-2 triumph over
Kyoto Sanga in last Sunday's Emperor's Cup final.
First of all, happy new year everyone. I hope your holidays were great.
New Year started, Im hoping to get some more posts up on the blog from now on. First, Ill start
with what Ive seen so far during the first half of our match with Doxa Dramas.
1. Sialmas needs to learn how to finish!
I want to start by wishing everyone a very happy new year full of peace and contentment. My trip
has been a real delight and by visiting town like Amherst and Northampton in Massachusetts I've
been reacquainted with the meaning of the words Quaint and Idyllic. Back in India, I used to enjoy
living and working in town like Udaipur a lot more than I did in places like Mumbai, Bangalore, or
Delhi.

The "Silly Season" is now in full swing and the end of 2011 was just heating up with all kinds
of rumors and new signings for the Sounders and we think that's just the beginning.

Like all responsible pet owners, we left our snark in the office over New Year. We ensured it
had adequate food, water and celebrity list programmes to see it through the night, with the TV
turned up loud to avoid firework-related outbursts.
We were concerned that it might be sulking today and therefore refuse to contribute to the first
results post of 2012, but you'll be relieved to see it's in fine form and frolicking around our
captions like nothing had even happened.
Going back to memory lane a bit here with Harry Redknapp and Jim Smith both managing Portsmouth
in the Premier League, but here is a quality clip from a (previously) quality show, Soccer AM, with
the legend that is Chris Kamara. Enjoy, and Happy New Year!

Another match, another dazzling display off the bench for Steven Gerrard. Only this time it led
to three points, with the captain once again changing the complexion of a match with his
introduction. Like the appearance against Blackburn, the boost was both sentimental and practical,
with a notable change in confidence and quality in the side.
First I just want to wish everybody a happy New Year and I hope everybody got home safe last
night. If you're reading this now then I'm also happy you're not suffering from a severe hang over.
Seriously, kudos! I managed to escape one myself!
In any case, with 2011 now officially over I thought it might be a good time to relive some of
the year's more interesting moments.
First, let us be among many, but hopefully not the last, to wish all our readers a Happy New Year.

I have difficulty with endings. I am not sure that I would like people who handle endings with
detached aplomb. Now that I have used the phrase "detached aplomb', honestly it just popped into my
head, I am wondering if this means I would not like James Bond and why do words such as "aplomb"
stick in my head when I have trouble remembering the names of people I see every day.

Since it's the last day of 2011, I'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and may your target
and aspiration be achieved next year. While everyone gets into their own party mood, there's still
a game to be played for Arsenal with Queens Park Rangers visiting the Grove. The players will have
to keep their celebrations on hold as we look to go back to winning ways.

Why I can't choose between Silva and RVP for my Best Player of 2011
Before wishing everyone a Happy New Year, there's just time for me to fish the old crystal ball
out of the attic and see what 2012 holds in store. And when Gypsy King Sav stares into the goldfish
bowl, he sees a treble Manchester City to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Carling Cup.
A disappointing Xmas weekend for Leeds fans with the defeat at Derby, as we drop to 8th in the

By Neil W. Blackmon, writing from Atlanta A month ago, we began taking votes for the First Annual
Yanks Are Coming US Soccer Awards. The idea was to post the winners New Year's Day as a Happy New
Year's present to our readers who themselves played a crucial role in determining winners. Quite
obviously, we never informed any of you who won the awards.
I want to wish everyone a happy and belated Happy New Year to all of our MLS Talk readers and
podcast listeners. I hope we will have a great 2011 just as last year was for our American leagues
and players. After a successful SuperDraft from Major League Soccer, it's going to be great to see
these new players get a chance to show their stuff during the pre-season and trying to make it with
their new clubs.
Happy New Year from the Roma Review! Intense last matchday in Serie A with games on Thursday and
Sunday. Playing two matches so close together can take a toll on players, especially after winter
breaks as holiday revelry and distractions which occur off the pitch require a refocus upon return.
