It has been a year filled with unfortunate events so far this football season and I am sad to report that La Liga has lost another former player. Robert Enke who was currently with German squad Hannover 96 has died from an apparent suicide. Enke, well known for his role as Germany's starting keeper as of January 2009, played for two different La Liga squads over the course of his career and was considered by many football critics one of the most dependable keepers not only in Germany, but in the entire world.

A sad piece of news in the footballing world, Robert Enke, Hannover 96's goalkeeper and Germany's 1st choice candidate committed suicide on November 10th 2009. The 32 year old goalkeeper left a note for his family and then committed suicide by stepping in front of a train. Germany's number one goalie Robert Enke, who played for Hannover 96 was found dead at a level crossing in the town of Neustadt am Ruebenberge. As per police, indications are that Enke took his life by throwing himself in front of a train. Enke was 32 years of age.

Enke had missed his last four international games because of a bacterial infection and had just gotten back to the game, playing in Hannover's fixture against Hamburg.

Sad news today. Robert Enke, Hannover and Germany's goalkeeper has been found dead in an underground train passage in Neustadt am RĂĽbenberge, Germany. According to police, it appears the 32 year-old has committed suicide by train.
