Watson for England By the age of 25, it's normally time to settle down in a job, accept that Phil
Collins does indeed have a few catchy numbers and limber up for a begrudging jog towards
reproduction and sensible haircuts. Certainly, the fantasy of becoming a respected figure on the
global footballing stage is over.
By J Hutcherson - WASHINGTON, DC (Feb 8, 2012) US Soccer Players -- I was in 8th grade in the Fall
of 1989, a time when neon was about to give way to plaid and skater haircuts were close to turning
into anything that wasn't a skater haircut. This was also an era when professional soccer was still
working to reestablish itself as an American sport, so keep that in mind while reading the story.

2011 was a great year for Philly soccer fans. The Philadelphia Union made it to the playoffs in
just their second season. For the second year in a row, and their second year of existence, the
Philadelphia Independence made it to the WPS Finals. Nearly 58,000 turned out to see the Union play
Real Madrid at the Linc, where the USMNT would host Mexico only a few weeks later (even if the home
support was outnumbered by the support for the visitors at both games).
The transformation of Ron Artest has been a lengthy one. Probably, no one would have guessed that
the guy who started the biggest riot in sports with fans would have come so full circle as he has
done.
Earlier in his career, while playing for the Indiana Pacers as the visitor against the Detroit
Pistons, he was the first of a group of players at the end of a game to physically challenge fans
and go into the stands seeking them out.

What a joy to watch that was. Full of life, effervescence and wonder. It moved, it didn't move,
it moved some more; it made the opposition's efforts look like wet spaghetti in comparison. A
shining light, a colossal effort. Disco Benny sported one of the finest haircuts in the history of,
well, everything on Monday night.

Football fashion - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Fashion matters more to football than the average supporter might care to acknowledge. Most
spectators aren't overly concerned about their personal aesthetic at 3pm on a Saturday. In fact,
for that matter, many neglect to engage in even the most rudimentary of personal grooming practices
full stop.
If you are over the age of 4o there is a good chance that you had to surrender control of your
television to the resident drama queen of your household between 1981 and 1989 when Dynasty came
on. If you are between the age of 40 and 25 this was the show that made your mom go snob and start
wearing pearls while rocking one of these haircuts.

In this author's humble opinion, the last truly great Brazil team. The flair and sexiness of
their play was orgasmic. Their haircuts and facial hair, not so much.
I've watched football (soccer) for almost 30 years. My first real exposure to world football was
the 1982 World Cup, the one everyone thought Brazil would win, and I watched with the eyes of an
awestruck 6 year old.
The good people at STV Sport are in the process of unveiling the runners and riders in the STV
Online Writers' Player of the Year poll.
Predictably enough online writers made up the electorate. Our instructions were to name our top
five Scottish players of the year.
That could be Scottish players playing anywhere but they had to be Scottish.
