With only three games left in the entire season, it's time for another update. The draft order is
nearly complete. Spots #1-12 are set in stone:
1 PHI 2 NY 3 SJ 4 KC 5 TOR 6 DAL 7 DC 8 COL 9 NE 10 CHV 11 SEA 12 CLB
The four first round playoff losers are ranked by regular season performance to determine the
order.

It's a Saturday night, and I didn't want to watch the damn game at a pub on an f'ing delay for
whatever reason MLSE had in mind. And technically, should "f'ing" begin with an "an" instead of an
"a", because if you say it, it's more like 'effing'... semantics.
We've got a damn rain delay. Sure, there's thunder and lightning, but big deal.

Congratulations! You've made it to the last home game of the year. Is it meaningful? Quite
possibly.
As it turns out, this time around we are in a position to actually visit Mr. Post Season for once.
There is still a chance that the whole thing will collapse around us as expected, but you can
dream.

Sorry for the lengthy absence - I am back. And seething with anger. This isn't exactly going to be
a warm-fuzzy post about how I love TFC. It's a little negative, so brace yourself for it.
If football matches were only 75 minutes long, we'd be 3 points off of first in the league, and
we'd have a playoff spot locked up.

Players can be a little forgetful of the details and the Colorado Rapids are no different. On a
whiteboard in the locker room, they are this week being urged not to forget their passports as they
travel to Canada. More tellingly, there is also a note on that same board that reads "If you are
healthy and not suspended, you are traveling.

I love Seattle. It's a great city. Nice people. Peroshki's are tasty. Pike Place is kinda neat.
Even that random gum wall thingie in the bowels is a talking point. And The Pink Door is a
wonderful restaurant and their hostess is the best looking MILF I've ever seen charming and
friendly.

Who were those guys in red on my television screen Saturday afternoon? They looked like the usual
TFC suspects, but somebody decided to add intensity to the luggage on the western road trip this
time. It was a thrilling moment to see Toronto look like a team again. Shamefully, I admit, I was
not looking forward to watching this game.

I initially thought "Awesome self, I'm not going to write a report for this one..." but I reneged
because I had a damn good reason to be excited.
Gerba and O'Brien.
Oh sure, one looks like Jesus and Superman wrapped up in a Canada kit and the other one is the
wonderkid that we wondered if we'd ever see.

According to the Score's Kristian Jack, the Julian de Guzman to TFC deal is 90% done. JDG has
apparently been offered a 3 and a half year deal worth $10 million.
In some respects, he's the ideal candidate to fill our designated player spot. He's Canadian, he's
still in his prime, and he's from Toronto.

Wednesday night Toronto FC reached the halfway mark of MLS 2009 as they played the 15th game of a
30 game season. Toronto 2- NYRB 0 was the final score as Toronto put on a smooth show on a hot
night by the lake. There was no doubt that TFC were the same guys who looked awesome in Montreal
last week. They were strong with the ball, solid in the back and able to make scoring chances out
of the smallest opening.

One point down, 39 to go, and 14 games to do it. Toronto FC represents the next "road block" for
the Red Bulls, who are scrambling to find points to keep this season alive. But points won't come
easy.
TFC boasts one of the strongest midfields in the league. Lead by the surprisingly cohabitable
tandem of Guevara and DeRosario, the Maple Leafs have been a terror to all
visitors this season.

Let's face it, we didn't beat the Impact's best team 6-1 on Thursday. That doesn't matter though -
we needed to win by four, and we pulled off the improbable. Before the match, I would have honestly
bet someone $1,000 that we wouldn't do it. I was certain it would be one of those "oh well, we
created enough to win by four.

Toronto FC 6 - 1 Montreal Impact. DeRo with three, Guevara with two, and Barrett with one. I cannot
believe what just happened. I'd written them off - everyone had. Now I'm eating my words, and I've
never been happier to do it.
No time to comment now. Enjoy the celebrations!

So tonight Toronto FC have to do something they've only managed to do once in their franchise
history: score four unanswered goals in one game.
I was there when it last happened, an MLS fixture against FC Dallas back in TFC's inaugural season.
It was a great day out; Edu scored a garbage goal, Dichio scored on a great header right as his
name was being chanted by the South Stand, hell, Cunningham scored TFC's fourth.

When I saw Chad Barrett wasn't in our starting eleven on Saturday, I knew we were going to score
more than once. And we did, we scored two. Ali Gerba must have been watching from his private box
thinking to himself "finally - a team that really, really needs me...".
It was a really ugly win, but three points is three points no matter which way you look at it.

Following up on my post from Friday: San Francisco FC won the Apertura championship in Panama after
defeating Chorrillo 5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the final last night. The hero was San
Francisco 'keeper William Negrete, who was substituted into the match by manager Rúben Guevara a
minute before the end of the extra time period because of his expertise in saving penalties.

Robert Scorca is a member of the Miami Ultras and has missed maybe one or two Miami FC games since
the team started. He was also a devote Miami Fusion fan and was broken hearted when the Barcelona
Miami bid for MLS fell apart. But one thing that many might not know about him is his love of the
Honduran National team.

New England 1 - Toronto 3 Shalrie Joseph gave the Revs the lead in the 13th, but it only lasted a
minute. Amado Guevera scored in the 14th. Dwyane De Rosario put Toronto up in the 67th, and Guevara
got his second goal of the game in the 70th minute in front of 20,478 at BMO Field. "It wasn't a
great game," Toronto coach Chris Cummins said.

This game had a sour sting to it. Perhaps a sobering wake-up call that Chicago (and New England ??)
are still teams to beat in the East. I have been hoping that the mythical signings to come in the
summer will still arrive.

Of all people...Kevin freakin' Harmse. After scoring just 2 minutes in, I was hoping we'd put a few
more goals in, but it wasn't to be. Nonetheless, a win is a win and three points are three points.
This year's Nutrilite Canadian Championship is a must-win in my eyes, so I'm content with a clean
sheet at home to open things up.

While this season has been going quite nicely for the most part, the many defeats of the past
two years still sting for Toronto FC fans. Possibly the worst of all was the 1-0 home loss to the
Vancouver Whitecaps on Canada Day 2008. This loss (combined with a tie at Vancouver and a tie
against the Montreal Impact) ensured that TFC did not win the Canadian spot in the CONCACAF
Champions League.

We didn't play well. In fact, we were a shadow of the team that won our last two matches. We were
very fortunate to come away with the point. Columbus dominated the match, and if not for some very
poor finishing, could have easily one three or four one.
We were outshot 17 to 5, and the Crew had 9 corner kicks to our 2.

This afternoon brings about the second instalment of the now annual Trillium Cup. While this
league-created competition has been received by fans with reactions ranging from derisive laughter
to outrage (over the extent businesses will go to in order to generate interest in their product),
it is undeniable that the Crew is TFC's biggest rivals, and that our games against the Yellow
Football Team are always interesting (though they have never led to 3 points).

For the second straight game, Chris Cummins and Nick Dasovic ran the sidelines for us. The sudden
resignation of John Carver was the talk of the team before this one - I didn't even get around to a
match preview.
The 4-3-3 worked again, as we beat the Kansas City Wizards for the second time this season.
