Milan striker: Teamwork is the key

As AC Milan prepare for a mouth-watering visit to Santiago Bernabeau to take on Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid tomorrow evening, Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has identified teamwork has the key to the club's continued success.

Ironically, Ibrahimovic has been accused of selfishness throughout his career and many believe that his failure to live up to the expectations in decisive games has been down to his inability to co-ordinate effectively with his teammates.

When the teams were initially drawn way back in December at the 2010 FIFA World Cup draw, everybody dubbed Group G the Group of Death because Brazil, Portugal, and Ivory Coast were all in the group. However, after 4 of the 6 group stage matches have been played in the group, it's been pretty clear cut who will be advancing and it will be neither of the teams involved in this match on Friday.

While Brazilian fans can't wait to face Portugal in their last group stage fixture, they couldn't have asked for a better way to prepare than taking on a spirited Ivory Coast side. It was the game hyped to break the shackles and to start a relentless assault of goals in South Africa, so inevitably Portugal and Ivory Coast both played out a goalless draw. The game may be criticised for epitomising a continuing trend of a lack of goals in this year's World Cup, but in honesty it gives us more of an insight into the teams than it does the World Cup itself.

Spain are the obvious attraction of the group – the reigning European Champions who swept into the competition on the back of eight consecutive group wins, finishing eight points clear of their nearest challengers, Bosnia-Herzegovina.

For about twenty minutes, this game had potential. But the Ivory Coast could not put away their hundreds and hundreds of chances maybe it was a few less and ultimately the game was long over before it was over. North Korea were finally solid in the back, running out their lockdown numbers in the back, a stark contrast to the red carpet they rolled out for Portugal, and kept the Elephants from scoring the eight or so they'd need from advancing as the second African team even if early in the first half it seemed it might be the case.

THE BIG PICTURE
After a disappointing start against the Ivory Coast, Portugal will be hoping to come to life here, but the question is can North Korea match their performance against Brazil? 90 minutes of gruelling work will surely still be affecting them and it remains to be seen whether they can motivate themselves to perform for a second time at that level.

THE BIG PICTURE
Brazil made a strange but ultimately winning start to World Cup 2010. North Korea's deep defending held the Canarinho at bay for a whole half, and the Chollima also scored a late consolation, but Brazil were ultimately in control and deservedly won 2-1.
