du Nord spent two great days last week in Kansas City attending the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America convention and the Major League Soccer SuperDraft.
It was filled with fun, frolicking, food, fantasy, fast cars, fast women (not nearly enough),
french fries, famous players, a funky monkey, fruit plates, flaun, freaky beards, finely tuned
speeches, frumpiness, factotums, flora & fauna, fajitas, fabulous lawns, firm handshakes, fake
smiles, fake boobs, fantasmagorical nightlife, flibbertigibbets, florescent lighting, ferrets,
fission, fusion, fashion, fabulous frickin barbeque, fat fucks, fine fine music, and more futbol
fanaticos then you could ever hope to find in one place!

It would seem Greg Lalas and Jason Saghini are gamblers
Coaching changes aren't usually fodder for this website, but since the Revs have reached into
their broadcast booth when grabbing a coach for the 2012 version of the team, we can file this
under media coverage of the team. Heaps retired after the 2009 season and spent two years paired
with Brad Feldman while providing color commentary.
Happy Friday to you! This past week saw some interesting happenings in Major League Soccer, not the
least of which was New York actually winning a game... against the LA Galaxy no less. We also saw
Real Salt Lake fall to the Vancouver Whitecaps and Seattle became three time champions of the US
Open Cup.

Yesterday we discussed some of the great success enjoyed in year two of the revamped
MLSSoccer.com. Page views are up and the site has become a hub for soccer news seeking web
surfers. Today, the site launched a great project chronicling North American Soccer. Check here
for a link.
We thought it worth taking a look at how far the site has come.
MLS fans curious to see how the league's new deal with the Peacock would increase the visibility
of the league got a glimpse of NBC's promotional power during the recent Sunday Night Football
broadcast. The 20 second spot ran during the Cowboys/Chargers game and teased fans with the
upcoming 2012 NBC MLS broadcasts.
After watching last night's MLS matches several things have stuck out for me. Sore points,
frustrations, points of notice and this that please me... here are a few things to consider.Kyle
Beckerman is a fighter.
RealSaltLake showed who they are, or rather, who they can be. The absolutely tore apart the New
York Red Bulls at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Last year we conducted a lenghty interview with MLSSoccer.com editor Greg Lalas. At the time
we spoke with him, the site was undergoing struggles as it emerged in its new format. Last Spring,
the new MLSSoccer.com replaced the outgoing MLSsoccer.net with great fanfare, as MLS took its
website in house and completely redesigned the format and content.
I was off at Kicking & Screening with Greg Lalas 'til quite late. Impromptu foosball throwdowns
make the clock go by. Nevertheless, I have risen from my slumber (NOT hangover... pregnant K&S
co-found Rachel Markus and I seemed the only ones not tilting pints) in order to bring forth Edson
Buddle's "Howdy" goal from Ingolstadt 1-1 home draw with David Yelldell's Duisburg last night.
We've got US camp stuff, as usual, but also quite a bit more. Tomorrow night, you can look for my
U.S. Player Ratings after the Chile friendly, which I will be watching at the local 4 a.m. start
time with Greg Lalas, in town for the Amsterdam Kicking & Screening Film Festival. And Sunday, I'll
have another sitcom video Top 5'er.
