After Grayson – A new dawning for our club? A solid 3-0 win for caretaker manager Redfearn at

no new managerial position was likely to be even looked at, let alone considered this week.

Fabio Capello isn't the only former England manager looking for a new gig. Sven-Goran Eriksson,
out of work since he was sacked by Leicester in October, decided to join the many others offering
their services for the Leeds job recently vacated by Simon Grayson. But Leeds chairman and
cantankerous owl Ken Bates, was less than receptive to his offer.
Grayson gone! This weeks show looks at the implications of this sadly expected sacking and in
true Twiggster style, looks forward to the future with hope and looks back on Grayson's tenure at
our club.
The sacking overshadows an horrendous 4-1 home defeat to Birmingham in midweek and a truly
abysmal January transfer window.

eh? Grayson was fired yesterday after a 4-1 loss to Jonathan Spector's Birmingham City, replaced by
Leeds Youth Team manager Neil Redfearn, at least on.
Being forced to sell his captain during the January and consequently losing matches heavily did for
Simon Grayson. While OTP feels slightly sorry for the recently sacked Grayson, we won't be dwelling
on his departure for too long because there are some exciting prospects in contention to be the new
boss at Elland [.

After three years in charge, a promotion from League One and decent finish in the Championship
last year, Leeds United have seen fit in their infinite wisdom to sack manager Simon Grayson with
the club 'languishing' in tenth position after losing 4-1 at home to Birmingham last night.
Leeds United have signed MLS star Robbie Rogers on an 18-month contract from Columbus Crew.
The 24-year agreed personal terms on January 10 but had to wait for his work permit to be approved
before he could become officially part of the squad at Elland Road.
Rogers was given a taste of football in England in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Newcastle
last week but was unable to feature for the reserves because not all of his paperwork had been
completed.

Ludovic Obraniak was a Lille player until yesterday when he signed a three-and-a-half year
contract with Bordeaux.
All of our further research regarding his career, life and propensity towards nudity was
abandoned as soon as we laid eyes on his.
Though the deal requires a work permit to become official, Robbie Rogers has signed with Leeds
United in England's Championship. Rogers has 18 US National Team appearances since 2009, scoring
against Mexico in last year's August friendly. After five seasons and 106 appearances with
Columbus, Rogers didn't re-sign with Major League Soccer.
BBC News and Sky News are reporting that American Robbie Rogers has signed a deal with Leeds
United of England's Championship. The 24 year old winger has been capped 18 times by the United
States National Team and most recently played for the Columbus Crew in MLS. This isn't Rogers'
first signing with a European club.

Robbie Rogers made it no secret that he wanted to play abroad once his MLS contract expired at
the end of last season.
It appears his wish has been granted.
Rogers has agreed to join Championship club Leeds United, subject to him securing a work
permit.
In a way this was a fairy tale return for Thierry Henry. Wenger acknowledged as much in his
post-match press conference when he said,
It was like a dream when he scored, it was the story you would tell a kid. It is not often like
that in our game.
But one could as well say there was an air of predictability about the football and the
result.
Will be relishing a return to a more familiar position
Arsenal and Leeds United become the last 2 teams to play their 3rd Round match of the FA Cup as
they take on each other tonight at the Grove. There was no giant-killing acts in this round as what
the romance of this competition usually alludes to.
Well, as Homey mentioned yesterday, I'm back here blogging hopefully pretty regularly. And first
up is our 3rd Round FA Cup tie with Leeds at the Emirates tomorrow:
As you probably remember, we actually played Leeds in the same round of the FA Cup. Some
brilliant, no doubt dashingly handsome blogger wrote a preview of that match, and wrote as
follows:
Leeds, of course, are one of the traditional big footballing clubs –they've won the first
division 3 times, most recently in 1992, reached 4 FA Cup finals in a span of 8 years in the late
60s and early 70s.
A disappointing Xmas weekend for Leeds fans with the defeat at Derby, as we drop to 8th in the
Championship, but at least we showed we still know how to attack. However, manager Grayson needs a
Happy New Year's results to keep his job, it seems? Twiggster discusses this and also gives a brief
end of 2011 review of the happenings at our club in the past 12 months.
An evil Santa show to start the week, following our home defeat to Reading. Are Grayson's days
as manager numbered? Listen to the interviews with Eddie Gray and Peter Lorimer and make up your
own minds, hearing their comments. Hoping to get another, HAPPIER show to you this week, depending
on my net connection but whatever happens.
It may only be the 3rd round, but the FA Cup's draw has produced some real crackers.
Sixty-four sides still have the potential to reach Wembley on cup final day, and 32 matches will
be played to see who progresses into the fourth round.
Here are five of the best ties to look out for:
Birmingham v Wolves
This Black Country derby isn't possible in the top flight this year following City's relegation
last season, but the Blues have done well both domestically and on the continent under Chris
Hughton.
Oh Dear! Twiggster's Birthday double header hopes turned into a Halloween Horror Show, this
week!
Just one point from six and a massive blow to our promotion hopes. Ghoulish goalkeeping saw
Leeds limp out of the play-off places after hoovering humiliation at home! Gruesome game

and post games Grayson grovelling, means this show isn't very happy.
Liverpool are considering allowing young central defender Danny Wilson to leave the club on a short
term loan deal in order to gain some vital first team football.
The former Rangers defender was brought to Anfield last summer and has so far struggled to force
his way into the Liverpool first team, but is considered a potential star of the future.
Leeds manager Simon Grayson admitted his side were taught a lesson by Manchester United last
night.
The West Yorkshire outfit approached their Carling Cup third-round tie at Elland Road with high
hopes of repeating their 2010 FA Cup triumph over United.
Instead, the contest was over by half-time as the visitors raced into a 3-0 lead which they
defended until the end.

Schalke may be pricing Blackburn Rovers out of the Jermaine Jones sweepstakes.
According to the Lancashire Telegraph, Schalke's asking price of £10 million for a full
transfer of the U.S. international midfielder is too high for Blackburn, and the club is resigned
to moving on without him.
Jonathan Woodgate's injury plagued Spurs career looks to be finally over with reports that he
has been released by the club. Woody made just one appearance last season – as a substitute in
the San Siro where he picked up another injury that seemed to typify his time at White Hart
Lane.
There is talk however that his career may be offered a lifeline by former club Leeds who are
lining him up for a return.

American defender Frank Simek has dislocated his elbow after falling awkwardly in his club's
home loss to Yeovil Town on Saturday.
The Carlisle United defender has been a rock at the back for the League One side. The injury
has yet to be fully assessed, however, Simek was just an hour away from completing every minute of
United's season.
It feels a bit blasphemous reporting on a match in which a club associated with Ken Bates
performed well, but since he's one of football's greatest chairmen, a good scrub in the shower
should eliminate some of the guilt. Certainly, the Championship fixture between Leeds United and
Nottingham Forest weighed heavily upon those at Elland Road on Saturday both in terms of history
and contemporary significance.

American fullback Eric Lichaj has had his loan to Leeds United extended until May 7, keeping him
at Elland Road through the end of the League Championship regular season.
Lichaj joined Leeds on loan from Aston Villa in early February and has started and gone the full
90 minutes in each of the seven matches since that time.

It's a beautiful day today, isn't it? The sun is out, the birds are chirping....ok so there are
no birds. And it's pretty damn cold right now. Who cares? We just won an FA Cup tie and we're back
to winning ways. On top of that, we're scoring plenty of goals, just as Bergkamp intended. Shall we
make it 3 trips to Wembley this season?
LEEDS, England — Samir Nasri helped Arsenal overcome a potentially tricky FA Cup third round

earlier and losing to Ipswich in the League [.

Elland Road mid-week in January, 40,000 noisy fans up for the Cup, a promising Leeds team
looking to cement their reputations; the joys of the F.A. Cup 3rd round.
Being honest, we were fortunate to have the chance of this replay, the very late penalty saving
Arsenal from the ignominy of an early Cup exit to a team from a lower division.
Arsenal travel to Elland Road for a fixture we could have done without. Nevertheless, it's a
game we have to play and must win.
I was not happy with the result in the original fixture but the performance of Leeds was
commendable. They seem like a team from the same mould as Blackpool or WBA and their manager
Grayson reminds me a bit of Holloway.
A superb display by Leeds at the Emirates in the FA Cup last weekend is reviewed by Twiggster
this week along with a wonderful "Fan at the Game" match review from a USA based Leeds fan who made
the trip over. Lots of listener emails this week, plus Simon Grayson's views and several Leeds
players comments about the game and the latest transfer news.
Work rate to go with the acrobatics?
FA Cup returns to the menu as Arsenal kick off their campaign against Leeds United. The
opposition may only be a Championship team but their history means that we have to treat this match
seriously. Since their glory days of getting in the Champions League semifinal, Leeds have plummet
down the ranks of English football.

Championship high-flyers Leeds United are reportedly working towards securing loan deals for a
brace of former fans' favourites, with both Newcastle midfielder Alan Smith (can
you believe that he's 30?) and recovering Tottenham crock Jonathan Woodgate both
being linked with temporary returns to Elland Road.
