Peterborough & District League Premier Division
Lindisfarne Road, PE6 7XH
After last weeks trip to the land of Satan that is a "premier league" football ground, I need to
cleanse my soul as it were and get back to watching the grass roots form of the game.

Portsmouth have signed Manchester City attacking midfielder Abdul Razak on a month-long
loan.
The 18-year-old, who was born in the Ivory Coast, has made four appearances for City and could
make his Pompey debut against Derby on Saturday.
Razak was discovered on the grass roots football website UK Football Finder, starting his career
with Battersea Ironside before Bolton, Palace & City all came in for the talented youngster.

How to watch Stoke v Liverpool
Liverpool are away to Stoke today in the Barclay's Premier League and with it being a
traditional 3pm Saturday kick-off it won't be shown live on any of the UK's TV channels. This makes
it difficult for Reds without one of the 2753 allocated away tickets to see it.
Jamie Lawrence Academy 4 UKFF 3
An extremely proud and historic day for UK Football Finder occurred on Saturday 3rd September
2011. At one of the oldest senior clubs in the country, Colliers Wood FC, a new era began as
members from UK Football Finder came together to form a side to compete against the Jamie Lawrence
Football Academy – the academy of an ex Premier and International footballer.
1st September: As football fans across the country enjoy the start of the season, a new survey
by The FA has revealed a staggering 54% of guys aren't enjoying regular kick-abouts with their
friends.
On average, men feel compelled to hang up their boots due to a wide range of reasons including
work commitments (37%), friends dropping out the game (20%) and the arrival of children (19%).

We are proud to announce the first of many UKFF Pro Trial Challenge Matches.
You'll be representing the UK Football Finder brand, against the best players from the Jamie
Lawrence Academy, so don't embarrass yourself. Exceptional players only.
Please bring £10 for the pitch, no pay, no play, and that is final.
As the pivotal game for Arsene Wenger's future gets under way, I cannot help but reflect on the
tribulations Arsene Wenger is currently facing.
Wenger, undoubtedly, has been one of the most successful managers of our time. However, I must
ask how long Arsenal can live in the past? This isn't a reference to the Arsenal fans, because we
all understand their frustration and their needs for a trophy.
Five years ago today I watched Fulham get trounced 5-1 by Manchester United. I was in the
Castle Pub, Tooting, and, well, you can read what I thought here.
That was the first post on Craven Cottage Newsround. Hade (who had worked out the five year
thing as we were making dinner tonight) and I had been on holiday in Prague to celebrate her 30th
and while out there I decided to start writing.
Mike Bayly went to meet a football club that is potentially at the start of a journey up
through the divisions.
Non-League supporters are the Bill Brysons of the football world. Whereas a trip to most
Football League grounds comes packaged with the familiarity of large urban conurbations, the grass
roots experience can lead a man (and for the sake of parity one had better add ‘woman') into the
wilds of the British provinces.
The season has not yet begun, and four football clubs with proud histories have had to either
resign from their leagues or have been consigned to the history books altogether.
Not many people will bat an eyelid as another five clubs are added to the ever growing number of
clubs who've faced financial trouble in recent times (Merthyr Town, Chester FC, FC Halifax Town and
Ilkeston to name but a few teams), but to the fans of these clubs these problems matter.
Living the dream with UK Football Finder
The days when football was played simply for the love of representing a cherished team seems to
have gone. When players received their hard-earned wage they deserved every penny and the fans
respected them for it. Now, players have continued to ask for extortionate amounts which the
average working person would be ecstatic about; football has obviously lost its purpose and no
longer can be seen as a working man's game.
Last week, a lot of amateurs dragged my good name through the mud. Basically, a handful of loons
got on internet forums and felt the need to inaccurately predict the end of the world. And who pays
the price? Sports-following clairvoyants like me, that's who.
And intellectuals. Luckily, last week noted Psychoanalytic scholar Jacques Lacan spread some
truth on Manchester United's record-setting 19th title winning season.
The FA's new head of elite development intends to change how young talent is nurtured and to
improve relationships between clubs and England. Apart from a few "geniuses" who came through
despite the weaknesses of the English grass-roots and coaching structures – he cites Paul
Scholes, Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne – Southgate says: "We definitely realised we were
inferior.
Are we big enough? In Canberra?
The headline suggests "Small players to get a shot at A-League's best"
Well they don't come any smaller than Canberra football in the eyes of Jim Forrest's FNSW or our
beloved national body the Double FA.
So don't be surprised if Canberra is given the longest most arduous route possible to get a chance
to play a NSW Premier League team, never mind an A-League team.
Big news for coverage of youth football in Scotland with the announcement that Youth Football
Scotland (YFS) is joining forces with the Daily Record to produce a weekly insert covering the
game's grassroots.
Appearing every Tuesday, the cunningly titled
Grass Roots will offer a taster of the best of
Youth Football Scotland's extensive coverage each week.
Regular readers of HTIOT probably read Tweed's post earlier that Prozone has announced the
Chicago Fire as their newest client. When I first read the news I was a bit upset, but the more I
thought about it, the more enraged about the situation I became. Statistics are important to me,
and I feel that they should be important to MLS as well.
Whether you love or loath FIFA you have to admit that they are always at the centre of talking
points within the sport. Russia, Qatar, Sepp Blatter and his thoughts on gays – there's always
something interesting going on in Zurich.
The latest round of backpatting was the recent announcement of Lionel Messi as the recepient of
the Ballon d'Or.
