The John Terry controversies a complete list - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
John Terry on his day is one of the best central defenders in the Premier League, and certainly
an important player for Chelsea and England.
However, the 31-year-old is in danger of missing out on Euro 2012, after being stripped of his
nation's captaincy due to the ongoing allegations of racism against the Barking-born man.
Graham Poll Poll criticised referees chief Mike Riley recently for being "anonymous" and leaving
referees to "hang out to dry". Obviously Graham Poll has his own vested interests, but he does
have a point. Very few people spare this topic much thought but it is a biggie, just who is
running the refereeing the the Premier League and how transparent is this process?
Why Liverpool have missed an opportunity on Suarez, Graham Poll is beyond a joke and
Ancelotti is already top of the table
Liverpool deserve some credit for deciding not to appeal against Luis Suarez's eight-match ban.
But what a shame they chose to couch their decision in inflammatory language that continued to
insist Suarez had done nothing wrong.

Premier League Official Line special with Graham Poll
Wolves had every right to complain after Jonathan Woodgate escaped his second yellow card when
conceding a 17th-minute penalty. Woodgate had already been cautioned.

Graham Poll: Referees turning into Christmas Turkeys?
It was the referees' Christmas party on Monday. While they were tucking into their turkey dinner,
Mark Clattenburg was missing a stonewall penalty at Stamford Bridge. Can a week pass without
another poor decision?
Graham Poll: Mike Jones should not expect to return to Old Trafford
Football incidents seem trivial by comparison with the news of Gary Speed's death but the
extraordinary events in the 64th minute at Old Trafford require some sort of explanation.

Andre Marriner appeared to commit the basic error of taking his eye off the ball as Blackburn
prepared to take a corner against Wigan on Saturday.

Graham Poll: Lee Mason should explain Old Trafford penalty reversal and card shark Luis
Suarez
It takes courage to give a penalty against Manchester United at Old Trafford and assistant
referee Jake Collin did just that on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United's Patrice Evra recently accused Luis Suarez of racial abuse, but this is not the
first time Liverpool FC have been embroiled in a racism row. Retired Premier League referee Graham
Poll how the FA dealt with a similar allegation involving Liverpool FC back in the late 1990s.
Graham Poll on the Patrice Evra Luis Suarez racism row
Now the FA disciplinary department will rightly investigate the matter but they will struggle to
make any charge unless video evidence is found to substantiate the Frenchman's claims.

David Moyes and Mick McCarthy deserve praise Graham Poll
Criticising match officials is easy; we sit in our armchairs watching countless replays without
the pressure that makes refereeing at the top level so demanding.

Graham Poll: I'm glad Liverpool had two players sent off
I'm glad that Liverpool had two players sent off on Sunday; not because I don't like them or
Kenny Dalglish and certainly not because I enjoy seeing players sent off; far from it.

Graham Poll: Do referees favour 'big clubs'? Yes, but they don't know they're doing
it
Fans believe that referees tend to favour the big teams, when I was refereeing in the Premier
League from 1993 until 2007 I thought that was rubbish.

Graham Poll: Kenny Dalglish should blame Liverpool's strikers and not referee Mark
Clattenburg
It was Dalglish's strikers' profligacy in front of goal which cost him not some ridiculous
referees' conspiracy theory.

can referees get their assistants to signal when a goalkeeper moves off his line before a penalty

Dare to speak up
Jack Wilshere has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the aftermath of the Arsenal-Newcastle game
on Saturday. If you do not know yet, Wilshere tweeted after the game about how the referee was not
consistent in his actions during the game. Pointing particularly to the incident in which Kevin
Nolan grabbed the neck of Wojciech Szczesny but received no card whereas Abou Diaby saw red when he
did the same to Joey Barton.
