One ref loses all credibility

Referee Darren Deadman should be, well, a dead man. Especially after Carlisle United player-coach Graham Kavanagh heard the man in the middle make some disturbing in-game remark.

A rooting ref?

Carlisle United player-coach Graham Kavanagh has accused referee Darren Deadman of shouting words of encouragement to Millwall striker Neil Harris during the two sides' 0-0 draw at The Den last Saturday.

Says Kavanagh:

"It was in the second half of the game, the ball went out to the left and as the Millwall lad crossed it, I was running back into the box.

Stockport County lost 2-1 to Carlisle United last night at Edgeley Park.County got off to the brighter start from the off, as the ball was threaded through to Carl Baker who dragged his shot wide.

County were pressuring Carlisle and it began to show as Tansey intercepted a miss pass and put Danny Pilkington onto goal who couldn't get the ball out of his feet and fired over into the Railway Stand.

League One Ups and Downs

Leicester City have won League One and bounce back to the Championship a season after being relegated. Peterborough continue their climb up the divisions and will join Leicester in the Championship along with the playoff winner. Scunthorpe needed a late goal from captain Cliff Byrne to earn a 1-1 draw against Tranmere to claim the final playoff spot.
