Chelsea continue to hemorrhage money after announcing a loss of £67.7million for the financial
year ending June 30, 2011.
That is only a slight drop decrease from the loss of £70.9million in 2010, as Chelsea struggles
to fall in line with UEFA's new financial fair play rules.
Since Roman Abramovich bought the club, Chelsea have now lost a combined £620million.

An anthology based on the Mark's writings for CFCnet and the legendary cfcuk fanzine, Chelsea
Chronicles - volume one - captures in heartfelt, humorous, diary-format prose a period in Blues
history when many fans couldn't quite believe what was going on at Stamford Bridge.
From the glory of the back-to-back title under Mourinho, through the ridiculous reigns of Grant and
Scolari, and ending with the FA Cup victory with Hiddink at the helm, Chelsea Chronicles - volume
one - provides the reader with an articulate and hugely entertaining insight into True Blue life.
We are only days from the opening of the January transfer window. The rumor mill has already
been spinning out of control over the past few weeks but, of course, as the new year approaches the
links with a Chelsea clearly in need of something special will reach new levels of absurdity.
So, with that being said, why not take the absurdity to new heights ourselves?
It's common knowledge that AVB wants Gary Cahill and late last night The Mirror broke an
"Exclusive" stating that a fee of £7m that has been touted about HAS been agreed between Bolton
and Chelsea and it's now in the hands of the players agent and Chelsea's Ron Gourlay to thrash out
personal terms.
I guess with the club losing the vote against buying the freehold off of the CPO the other week,
one way to get more money through our coffers would be to sell the naming rights of Stamford
Bridge.
This has been mentioned before in passing but would have taken a massive step forward after the
vote result.
Justin Bieber is in Britain for something or other. Girls everywhere are crying. Meanwhile, the
singer turned rapper took some time out from making said girls sob incessantly by hauling his
4-year-old girlfriend, Selena Gomez, to Stamford Bridge for a private tour.
And the world wept.
Ashley & Cheryl?
This just in: we did a deal for a highly-touted Spaniard in under four days. What's more? We
didn't overpay for his services. Me likey.
Welcome to The Bridge, Juanito.
Let me see if I can track the genesis of this one. On Wednesday of last week, news broke that we
were in pole position to get Mata from the clutches of Arsenal and Tottenham.
After Ron Gourlay spoke the other day about potential sales at Chelsea, it seems that one is more
or less and done deal and we are just waiting on official confirmation from Chelsea.
Yuri Zhirkov seems to be on his way back to Russia after a deal has reportedly been done with Anzhi
Makhachkala for around £13-£15m was agreed.
Could it be that AVB has been impressed with our current squad enough to not need to sign anyone?
Remember, David Luiz and Ramires are still to link up with the squad this week.
Well according to Ron Gourlay, he expects a couple of loan deals for our youngsters to be completed
before the end of the transfer window and that's it.

If you take the press at their dubious word, then Ron Gourlay claims we're to add two additional
pieces to the mix in the next fortnight. Some are suggesting these signings are Courtois and Romeu-
while others are speculating there are in fact two other players on the horizon. Personally, I'm
thinking this is more likely the former rather than the latter.
According to Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay, the Blues will sign two new players "in the
next eight to 10 days." One of those two players will Barcelona teenager Oriol Romeu as both clubs
have agreed to a transfer fee of around £5 million.
"Andre has come in just a few weeks ago and needed some time to look at the pool of players we
have, and we strengthened in January with bringing Fernando Torres and David Luiz into the squad,"
Gourlay told Chelsea's official Thailand supporters club.
Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay says that the club will sign two new players "in the next
eight to 10 days" as they continue to be linked with bids for Luka Modric and Javier Pastore.
Chelsea's Chief Executive Ron Gourlay, speaking at a question and answer session last night with
Chelsea's Thailand Supporters Club, revealed that although it has been a slow process up till now,
Chelsea will make two signings in the next eight to ten days.
He said:

André Villas-Boas is the stealthy one.
His snow job on the media took him off the short list of candidates which then concentrated on
Guus Hiddink's reported arrival. Everyone believed Villas-Boas would stay on in Porto for at least
another season. There were articles devoted to why he would do so as Boas dampened expectations
citing astronomical release amounts.
I thought that Peter Kenyon said some stupid things when he was at Chelsea, but the comments by
Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay surpass anything that Kenyon ever said.
Gourlay was in Asia ahead of Chelsea's tour there this summer and was asked about Chelsea firing
Carlo Ancelotti one year after he won the double.
Ray Wilkins has once again heaped praise on the players he used to work with and once more
reiterates the hunger and desire the players have at Chelsea and issued a warning to the likes of
Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City and the Liverpool's of this world.
He said:
"They are a wonderfully gifted bunch of guys and they will be back.
The first major move by Chelsea and Roman Abramovich tonight in the transfer market as one of the
key players identified by the club as spoken about by Ron Gourlay, has become the subject of a
£22m bid by Chelsea and that's Luka Modric.
Tottenham have rejected the offer but it's believed that Chelsea will go higher to get their man.
I think alot of us are sitting here waiting as the days go by for Chelsea to pull their fingers out
and sort out the manager sooner rather than later. We are seeing the likes of United, Liverpool and
City making moves in the transfer market and as some of you have said on my blog "we are getting
left behind!
Chelsea's chief executive, Ron Gourlay met with the press yesterday and had some interesting
comments about Chelsea's next manager and summer signings.
"As far as the manager is concerned, the process is going well but now is not the time for me to
comment on who the next manager is going to be.
Ron Gourlay is featured in today's press speaking of the search for a new manager at the club and
also of the clubs transfer plans. When asked about the current speculation regarding the manager he
said:
"It's a big season for us coming up. Things didn't go as well as we hoped last season
and plans are very much in place for next season to be back winning trophies.

The Goodison Park stairwell where Carlo Ancelotti was reportedly sacked is a warm and friendly
part of the ground, where veteran doormen in blazers exchange pleasantries with old school
Evertonians and Bill Kenwright, the club's chairman, floats through dispensing bonhomie.
It is a place, in other words, of decorum and permanence and not the kind of area where a
thoroughly capable manager would expect to be dispatched moments after being allowed to say, in a
post-match press conference, that a meeting would be held next week to discuss his future.
By Chris Wright
You may be aware by now that Chelsea have parted ways with Carlo Ancelotti for having the
down-right temerity to wash up in second after securing the club it's first ever domestic double
twelve months ago, but reports are circulating this morning that the Blues hierarchy followed the
West Ham board's classy lead and decided to sack Ancelotti in the tunnel at Goodison Park.
I have woken up this morning still in a state of shock really. Not because I am shocked that Carlo
Ancelotti has been sacked, but in the way the club has done it.
I sat here last week watching pictures and reports of Avram Grant's sacking at West Ham and my
immediate thought no matter who it is or was on this occasion was that they could have at least let
the man travel back with the squad to the club and then do it there and do it properly.

Preview: Union vs Chicago Fire " Unholy Union – The fan blog for Phi. Union
The only question left is "how," as in how in the heck will Union finally find a way to score some
goals?!?!?!? They even tried sitting Carlos Ruiz last match, in favor of the normal starting
forwards from last season, Danny Mwanga and Sebastien Le Toux, and it STILL didn't work.
In his final press conference of our season yesterday, when you would expect coverage to be on the
game itself, Carlo Ancelotti's comments about his future have become the focus of media attention
yet again and once again, he has remained defiant.
He said:
"We will arrange a meeting to discuss our issues but I'm very quiet, very calm, and I
just want to wait and see what the club have decided.
The Sun in the early hours this morning is reporting that Roman Abramovich wants more "thrilling
and sexy football" and intends to bankroll another £80m this summer to bring in players to three
areas that have been identified that need bolstering. The three positions are:
- A creative midfielder
- A flying winger
- A solid right back.
The thing about Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is that very few people have heard him speak. Fewer
still have heard him speak in a language they understand. And when Abramovich does speak, it's
never in public or to the media. As for the people he employs to actually run Chelsea -- primarily
club Chairman Bruce Buck and Chief Executive Ron Gourlay -- they talk very little and say even
less.
Looks like Chelsea officials have been busy behind the scenes trying to sell the naming rights
to Stamford Bridge.
Multiple reports today say that Chelsea, who have been asking have £100m for a 10-year deal,
have failed to get a single serious bid.
It is 17 months since chief executive Ron Gourlay announced he was ready to open talks on
stadium sponsorship.
Chidge and the boys are still doing the Samba just like our Brazilliant Brazillians on Sunday.
Great win and result for the Blues and well done, with thanks to the Boys from Brazil.
Chidge, ChelTel, Dr Mart and the Celery Terrorist have a right old natter about the result against
Citeh which puts some clear blue water between Chelsea and our rivals.
Ron Gourlay is featured on the BBC this morning after speaking to Radio 5 Live's Sportsweek and an
extract taken from that interview is being blown out of all proportion around the net.
The timing comes as no surprise as Chelsea are back on a run of form, looking good in the Champions
League and looking to chase down Manchester United in the Premier League.

Following Chelsea's disastrous exit from the FA Cup yesterday against plucky opponents Everton,
4-3 after a dramatic penalty decider, it has to cross one's mind that a certain Russian billionaire
who was watching the game, might just be growing tired of the current menu on offer at Stamford
Bridge.
LONDON, England Chelsea have completed the signing of Spain striker Fernando Torres from Liverpool
in a deal reported to be worth £50 million. Torres has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract that
puts his earnings on a par with the highest paid players at Stamford Bridge such as captain John
Terry.
Bid accepted. Personal terms? Negative.
To Spurs, obviously
It looks as if Chelsea has missed out on another potential target. This summer, according to
several sources, the club turned down the option to sign Rafael Van der Vaart from Real Madrid.
Tottenham wasted no time sweeping in to complete a deal for the Dutchman, who has since brought not
only superb scenery to England, but also world-class talent.
