The U.S. national team returns to action for the first time since qualifying for the 2010 World Cup today when it takes on Slovakia in a friendly in Bratislava (10am, FSC).

The Americans are without Landon Donovan and Tim Howard, as well as the injured Oguchi Onyewu and Jay DeMerit, but there are still plenty of starters who will have chances to show they can play without the team's top players.

The University of Colorado soccer team's season come to an end after a 1-0 double-overtime loss to Texas in the first round of the Big 12 tournament on Wednesday in San Antonio.

Texas came out with a spark in the game's second overtime, and Erica Campanelli headed a shot with 3 minutes, 30 seconds left that hit the crossbar and bounced back into play.

The USF women's team finished up their preseason undefeated after defeating St Leo University 2-0 tonight at the USF Soccer stadium in front of 468 supporters. The Bulls managed to out shoot the Lions 12-5 and had goals from two underclassmen to secure the win.

Last night, the United States took on Honduras in the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup Semifinal @ the historic Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to the game, the murky weather dampened many Sam's Army members' clothes as they gathered inside the stadium. But, it didn't appear to dampen their spirit or their ability to encourage the US team, both of which were in full force as usual.

Former FC Dallas defender Clarence Goodson won't be anchoring the San Jose Earthquakes defense as the Quakes had hoped when they selected him in the expansion draft. Goodson, who is out of contract, will instead make a run at securing a contract in Europe.

San Jose revealed this pretty significant information at the bottom of the same press release that announced the trade to acquire goalkeeper Joe Cannon.
