On Sunday, January 22, 2012, Manchester United will take the pitch against Arsenal at the
Emirates. Cognizant of the simple fact that Manchester United handed Arsenal an 8-2 loss that is
counted amongst the very worst in a period of 100 years, no one is giving much reason to believe
that the Gunners have a chance against the Red Devils.

Or, what if Tim Tebow was a Buddhist or Jew? Would he be getting the support and love he is
receiving now from the sports world?
As a devout Christian, Tebow has raised many eyebrows inside and outside the sports world.
People are rooting for him because they like his style of play and because he stands for
Conservative principles.
Later today, NCAA Tournament finalists UNC-Charlotte and North Carolina wil play for the
prestigious College Cup. To give us a better glimpse of what occured during the tournament, Brian
O'Connell caught up with Revsnet founder and college soccer expert Mike Marshall
to discuss this weekend's slate of matches, as well as college soccer at large.
For the first time in too long, the best team in Major League Soccer won the MLS Cup.
That's great for MLS.
Sure, nobody likes to root for Goliath to beat down David, but there were lots of reasons to
hope and be happy Los Angeles won last night. Now that they've set Houston aside with a 1-0
victory (which would've been 2-0 if Robbie Keane had not been wrongly called offside on his goal),
you don't have to think about some team that played as ugly as Colorado getting hot for a few weeks
and then parading around for a year as your league champs.
As tradition goes, I never feel confident before a match against promoted opposition away from
home. Arsenal, who naturally take up the mantle of Goliath in these clashes, have a tendency to
trip up from a sly foot thrown forward by these Davids; and such matches have an even greater
probability of being forbearers of frustration if they succeed an international break.
The 2011 MLS Cup will truly be a David v. Goliath affair. In this corner, you have the regular
season's best team with the most star power and biggest names who, by the way, will be playing at
home. In ...

The last 32 teams for the SPANISH CUP 2011 - 2012 ( Copa del Rey ) has been drawn today with the

As well as playing like a complete defensive uber-goliath and having to take to the
field in a homemade shirt during the latter stages of Ireland's qually against Russia in Moscow
last night, Richard Dunne also had the misfortune of doing smacking his face into the metal
drainage grid that surrounds the plaggy pitch at the Luzhniki after clattering through Yuri Zhirkov
on the touchline.

Paul Breitner: German box-to-box goliath of the 70′s and 80′s, World Cup winner, possessor
of a long-range shot akin to amplified thunder, vocal socialist, 60-years young today and
the once-proud owner of a full 360° of seamless Afro/beard hybrid head fuzz thus making him a bona

The Kalateen Derby is not just about who cares the most about soccer, but a David (Kitsap Pumas)
v Goliath (Seattle Sounders) in the national championship - the US Open Cup. This tournament has
everything that fascinates America in the NCAA basketball tournament, but is played on the fields
with 11-a-side.
Tomorrow, Real Salt Lake can, and, I predict, will make history. More than simply bringing home
victory in the CONCACAF Champions League, winning tomorrow would stamp RSL's ticket to the FIFA
Club World Cup. They would be the first MLS team to win the CCL in a decade, and the first ever to
qualify for the Club World Cup.
This will be a positive post, so those of a cup half empty disposition, look away.
Firstly, we are on a long unbeaten run in the PL extending to almost four months. During that
time we have conceded just 10 goals. Taking out the madness at St. James, we have conceded 6 in 12
PL games hardly the stats of a dodgy defence.
He's secured his place in our hearts, but where is Sebastien Le Toux's place on the pitch? Let us
know where you think the Gallic Goliath's ideal place in the formation really is in this week's
poll.
There's something magical about a Cup Final. On any given day, any team can win even if it's a
David against Goliath. The nerves are tensing, the butterflies are racing and the sweaty palms are
in full bloom. Then you have the atmosphere at the...

Financial instability continues to see David beat Goliath in Lower leagues is a post from: Just
Football
As has been well documented in recent years there are a whole host of league clubs who are
seemingly operating on borrowed time due to season upon season of poor financial
management.
What a run we are on! Can our East London neighbours stop the momentum this team is building?
If Arsenal were to lose today would it have a knock on effect for the rest of the season? What do
you think?
I know what I am about to write will be as popular as a root canal treatment but I can see
advantages to our suffering a cup upset.

"Down Goes Frazier! Down Goes Frazier! Down Goes Frazier!" Yet again, David beats Goliath. And it
couldn't have been sweeter.
So much for not seeing three at the back for a second-straight match.

What a fantastic game of football - I think I've just about managed to recover my breath. The
beautiful game doesn't get much better than this. I can't recall having watched a better match than
this in any league, cup competition or major final.
The indian Asian Cup dream ended with a 5 - 2 beating at the hands of Bahrain. The total size of
India is 3.29 million sq. km.Bahrain on the other hand is a mere 620 sq km.Talk about David beating
Goliath.
Sometimes giant killings keep repeating themselves so often that they're not shocking anymore. I
mean, it's still shocking because the thing in question is a reversal of proper order, but with
snide Sky Sports presenters, smarmy commentators and the fans collective subconscious all prodding
and hinting at the thing in question, the eyes perhaps don't widen as much as they should when the
thing comes to fruition.
Three days of Scottish Cup action to look forward to. Much talk of "cupsets" but probably not many
actual upsets. And, I'd wager, a mention or two for Berwick Rangers, the most famous of Davids in
Scottish football's gallery of Goliath-slayers.
Pitch inspections at a few of these games and snow falling as I write so things could be subject to
change.
