I like Plata, you have to admire the energy and dedication that he brings to the field. I am still convinced that he should be used as a super sub more often.

As expected, the Columbus Crew signed two-time National Champion and Soccer America's College Soccer Player of the Year for 2011 Ben Speas as a homegrown player. Speas won the 2010 College Cup with the University of Akron before transferring to UNC and winning it again in 2011. Speas scored the only goal in the 2011 final, winning the MVP award.

New York Knicks rookie bigman Josh Harrellson got the start on Saturday night and was really impressive as the Knicks defeated the Sacramento Kings. He had 14 points and 12 rebounds, while nailing 4-of-8 from downtown. In the fantasy basketball world, those stats look like gold for a player available on the waiver wire.

Currently atop the German second tier of soccer, the 2. Bundesliga, with half of the 11/12 season completed, Fortuna Düsseldorf has emerged as a leading contender for promotion to the German Bundesliga at the end of the season.
