Alessandro Del Piero rolled back the years to net an incredible goal as Juventus overcame Roma 3-0
in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals and winning the In The Stands Goal of The Week to boot! The
Serie A leaders were already 1-0 up before Del Piero received the ball 30-yards away from goal,
made a mazy [.
Serie A returned this weekend after the winter break and there was some cracking action to start
2012. Inter Milan, Siena and Udinese had massive victories. While Lazio, Parma and Cesena all
started 2012 miserably and the fans were thinking if their players were on holidays. Here are the
top five goals 5.
Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard scored from his own half against Bolton but was unable to prevent the
Toffees slumping to a 2-1 home defeat. Howard casually received the ball inside his box before
launching a down-the-pitch-punt hurtling towards the Bolton goal. A rather surprised (and frankly
clumsy) Adam Bogdan could only scamper backwards as the [.
Nigerian defender Festus Baise scored a scorpion kick and perhaps the greatest ever own goal during
Sun Hei SC's 3-2 defeat to Citizen AA in the Hong Kong first division. Is this the finest ever goal
you will see? That is, the finest ever OWN goal you will see? Poor Festus Baise. The nippy
Nigerian's [.

Another brilliant weekend in Serie A where two fallen giants must address their continued bad form.
Both Inter Milan and Roma were the talking points this weekend as both teams records domestically
continue to decay. Inter Milan lost at home to Udinese 1-0 where Roma lost 3-0 away at Fiorentina
and had 3 players sent off.

Kevin Prince Boateng is the winner of the In The Stands Goal of The Week for his superb flick and
strike against Barcelona in a pulsating Group H UEFA Champions League match at the San Siro.
Although Milan went on to lose 3-2 to the European Cup holders, Kevin Prince Boateng's moment of
magic was [..
The In Stands Goal of The Week goes to Fagiano Okayama Star Ryujiro Ueda who set a new world record
by scoring the longest headed goal ever! Yep, its true and almost surreal. Japanese second division

Serie A returned with a bang at the weekend with some fantastic action. This week we got goals and
more goals which included seven goals between Lecce and AC Milan. Udinese finished on top of the
pile after a brilliant 3-0 over Novara. Here are the five top goals of the week 5. Alessandro Matri
Juventus – Genoa This was Alessandro Matri 2nd goal of the game and it was a brilliant goal.
In The Stands' Goal of The Week comes from Kevin Prince Boateng whose blockbuster strike against
BATE Borisov helped Milan grab a 2-0 win and remain joint top of Group H. The strike had a Tony
Yeboah-type-feel to it although the Leeds striker was more renowned for striking the ball sweetly
from a volley.
In a week filled with some thrilling international football, In The Stands singles out the pick of
the goals with Cristiano Ronaldo's ferocious free kick against Denmark during Portugal's 2-1 Euro
2012 Group H qualifying defeat coming out on top. If a picture tells a thousand words, then a video
must tell one million more.

The In The Stands Goal of The Week comes from the Brazilian Championship, specifically Flamengo
star Ronaldinho whose amazing ‘corner-kick goal' has left us blinking several times over. The
Samba star moved back to his homeland this year and has caused a bit of a stir with some stellar
performances as well as the customary moments [.
Once again Cristiano Ronaldo has left football fans the world over jaw-dropped as he scored with an
outrageous backheel as Real Madrid smashed Chinese outfit Guangzhou 7-1 in a preseason friendly.

Frenchman Eric Hassli scored the Goal of the Season which earned MLS side Vancouver
Whitecaps an impressive 2-2 draw against Seattle Sounders.
The 6ft 4 inches Sarreguemines-born forward seized on a loose ball on the edge of the Seattle
area before flicking the ball up with his right foot and volleying a stupendous dipping volley
beyond a despairing Kasey Keller.
What a golazo by Andres Guardado in Mexico's Gold Cup win over Costa Rica yesterday. What a hit,

And here I thought Brettschneider might be in with a chance for Goal of the Week...
Not enough to dislodge the volley brigade, but still a damn fine goal.
GOALS FINALLY FLOWING FOR UNIONOne of six times Union celebrated on Saturday.Every time someone has dared praise Philadelphia Union this year, it's been met with the same
opposition - "it won't last" and "they can't score goals". Well guess what? It is lasting, and the
goals are beginning to flow.
NEVILLE TESTIMONIAL SHOWS BECKHAM PRIORITIESBeckham and Neville together on England duty.David Beckham's commitment to LA Galaxy has often been called into question, with loan moves to AC
Milan, persuit of a continuation of his England career and willingness to miss a game versus FC
Dallas to attend the Royal Wedding.
EQUILIBRIUM AT QUARTER MARKJustin Braun destroyed New York with a hat-trick.Week nine marked the quarter mark of this 36-game MLS season. There's still a long way to go, but
what's the early analysis? This league is very, very close.
With no one team outright dominating and few falling too far behind, it's fair to say that
everything is still up for grabs.
ZAKUANI, FERREIRA... NOW MORALESSadly Javier Morales has little to celebrate right now.Bad luck comes in threes, and this has certainly proven true. Major League Soccer has lost three
top players in just a few weeks to terrible injuries which could rule them out for the remainder of
the 2011 campaign.
Every Monday I address the most notable and newsworthy topics of Major League Soccer conversation
in Talking Points. Results, fixtures, transfers, announcements, rumours and any other
significant happenings are covered, with my own point of view put forward and your opinions

In sport there is the spectacularly good, the horribly bad and the grotesquely ugly. Week six of
the 2011 Major League Soccer season certainly offered a taste of all three, and presented some
considerable
Talking Points.
MULLAN, GUILTY AS CHARGEDThe challenge everyone is talking about.
Number 10 for the match day starts with that cheeky little pass from Zlatan Ibranimovic to Pato of
Milan which nutmegs the Genoa defender in the process. This of course was the only goal for Milan
on the day and the match result ended as a 1-1 draw against their hosts. Milan would drop 2 points
to trailing clubs Napoli, Udinese and Inter.
Matchday 21 is a duel of setplays. Great opener by Dejan Stankovic for Inter but that was all that
was written for the scudetto holders as the homeside Udinese would play 3 in the backnetting one of
which was off the set play of Di Natale with perfect placement in the lower right-hand corner, no
chance for the keeper.
The Top three goalscorers from Matchday 20 of Italian Serie A have to be, AC Milan's Zlatan
Ibrahimovic with his turn and shoot from nowhere kungfu, FC Internazionale's Samuel Eto'o who once
again reminds all defenders to never leave your man unmarked, and Juventus veteran Alessandro Del
Piero with set play perfection.
Excellent individual performances this week especially by Napoli's Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan
scored a hat trick against a shell shocked Juventus eleven. Runner-up this week should be obvious
with Antonio Di Natale's two scores (the second especially sweet) against AC Milan. Di Natale and
his Udinese teammates helped to rein in our scudetto leaders whose lead over the pack has.
Some excellent performances this week from Palermo rising star Javier Pastore, and Udinese hitman
Antonio Di Natale. Earlier this week Pastore dedicated his recent hat trick against Sicilian rivals
Catania to Diego Maradona. The Argentine indicated his desire to meet with the legendary Maradona
in the near future.
