Today, a guest post from Abdul Rahman Al Ze'bi, who thinks Our Beloved Valencia needs a lot of
stuff, like a new coach.
Agree? Disagree? Think Emery is over-caffeinated?

Take it away, Abdul ...
What Does Valencia CF need?
This has been the question everyone asks.

Don't feel bad that you missed all the transfer news because you're such important people. We
too were engaged in frantic busy work (sleeping, shopping, drinking or a horrifying and painful
combination of all three) when the window slammed shut at 23.

1983 in Irvine, Scotland, late of Eskişehirspor of the Turkish Süper Lig, formerly of Nottingham

is Major League Soccer's newest Designated Player.
In our recaps of Seattle Sounders FC's Academy Alumni the focus was primarily on the players
within the NCAA system. Players like Sean Okoli (second leading scorer on the U18s in 2010/11),
Deandre Yedlin and Nick Palodichuk are following typical American collegiate paths. Yedlin and
Okoli even got picked for the recent United States U-20 path.
The turn of the year has seen the transfer market in the K-League gather momentum. Players and
coaches have returned from their end of season vacations and teams are starting their winter
training camps.
The first week of 2012 saw two big deals involving midfielders who may not be quite automatic
starters for the national team but are never too far from the first eleven.

Short on time or interest to catch all the action as it happens? Yeah, we can feel that too.
There is a solve, though, that we've never explored before.
The final U.S. men's national team matches of 2011 are fast approaching, and with a pair of
European road games on the slate, there is a good bet we will see plenty of familiar faces, but
hopefully at least a few new faces.
The MLS playoffs could mean that some players don't make the trip across the pond, like Landon

Football clubs and the media covering them live together as slightly estranged bedfellows,
desirous of one another's company but at times cold or distant when the other's been bad in the
sack. Quite often it is the club in some capacity turning away, demanding the media pick up the
blanket off the end of the bed and to go sleep on the couch for the night.

Making a reference to Greek philosophy when discussing Glasgow Rangers probably sounds far too
distorted to be credible. It likely is, but it was difficult not to consider Plato's Allegory
of the Cave when hearing owner Craig Whyte talk of reviving the Atlantic League idea or
somehow getting Rangers accepted into the English league system.
There was a decidedly American flavor to Glasgow Rangers' 4-0 rout of Motherwell on Saturday, as
U.S. teammates Carlos Bocanegra and Maurice Edu both scored goals for the Scottish champions.
Bocanegra opened the scoring in the ninth minute on a powerful header, while Edu blasted a
long-range left-footed shot in the 17th minute.

Scottish football is in crisis. With Scottish clubs exiting European competition even earlier

Editor's Note: It was an odd, intermixing week for American and British Isle footie.
Midweek, the historic club Glasgow Rangers of the beleaguered Scottish Premiere League made
successful for two Americans, Alejandro Bedoya and Carlos Bocanegra.
Just when you got used to calling FFC, Fulhamerica... Going to have to add a SPL team to that list.
Already with Edu on the squad, Glasgow Rangers just added Bedoya (he already was on a pre-contract
set to begin in January) today and now comes word from Sky Sports that St. Etienne defender, and
USMNT player Carlos Bocanegra just signed a 3yr deal to move to Ibrox, effective immediately.
Glasgow Rangers has grabbed the unofficial title of Team America on Wednesday after making U.S.
national team captain the second American to sign with the Scottish club champions on
Wednesday.
Bocanegra joins Rangers via transfer from St. Etientte, and could be in action as soon as
Thursday.

Alejandro Bedoya won't have to wait until next winter to finalize his move to Scottish champions
Glasgow Rangers after all.
The U.S. national team midfielder will be joining Rangers immediately after the club reached an
agreement with Swedish club Orebro on a transfer for Bedoya.
Ally is not havin' it
Well, I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is that we are actually making bids on
real, live players who might consider playing for Bolton. The bad news is that we're getting
rejected. Ally McCoist, manager of Glasgow Rangers has confirmed that Bolton made a £400k bid for
20 year old Gregg Wylde.
The last time a team from Allsvenskan played in Europe was the 2007 season where Helsingborg
managed to make it into the group stage. Once there, they took second place and were knocked out by
PSV Eindhoven in the first knockout stage. I watched the last game in Helsingborg live, and though
PSV were certainly the better team, Helsingborg had proved that teams from Allsvenskan could play
and even do well at this level.
Young Arsenal striker Rhys Murphy, who has recently declared for Ireland, is attracting strong
interest from Glasgow Rangers.
Murphy, 20, has already been training with the Ibrox club and recently played in a trial game
against Hamilton.
West Sussex-born Murphy, whose grandfather hails from Dublin has declared for Ireland, with sources
saying the processing of his application by the FAI is well advanced.
