Why have the Philadelphia Union added a scrimmage against Florida Gulf Coast University, of all
places, to their preseason warm-up tour? With approximately 12,000 students including post-grads
and a "noteable alumni" list that consists of a professional monster trucker and Don Carman
(retired Philadelphia Phillies pitcher from the 80's), what put the FGCU Eagles on the radar?
Ireland U19 international Paul George made his first competitive Celtic appearance last night in
the 2-0 victory over Ross County in the Communities League Cup.
George from Killough in County Down came on for the last few minutes of the game and only for an
excellent close range save late on from County keeper Frazer, he could well have marked his debut
with a first senior goal.

Parkhead club who claimed that a number of the Swiss club's players were ineligible.

Europe have entered a team into the inaugural competition with England having the highest
representation with four teams followed by the Netherlands and Norway who have two each.

The Scottish Premier League (SPL) returns to action earlier than usual having been brought
forward by three weeks. The feeling is that an earlier start to the season will help those clubs
who are to represent Scotland in UEFA club competition be more prepared from a fitness point of
view as well as make fixture congestion less likely to occur later on in the campaign.
A young #22, Tony Glavin, dribbles the ball.
A young man is picked up in a chauffeured Rolls-Royce to sign a new contract at the age of 19
and who shortly thereafter was keeping company with international football/soccer stars. Jumpcut
thirty years later to see that same man driving a school bus that's seen better days (better
decades, actually) full of unheralded young soccer players.
There's no doubt that Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Forster is attracting a lot of attention from

With the Scottish Premier League 2010-11 season now over, it's time to have a
look back at the players who have made their mark during the campaign. When selecting a team of the
year it's hard to avoid Celtic and Rangers, but thankfully there are those from outside the big two
who have done enough to earn their place.
It's not surprising that Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Forster will be in big demand this summer.
Fraser Forster will stay at Newcastle United Fraser is finishing off a very successful season long
loan spell at Glasgow Celtic, and will play his 44th and final appearance for Celtic this Saturday,
in the Scottish Cup Final against [.
The attack on Glasgow Celtic coach Neil Lennon by an opposing supporter in Wednesday's Scottish
Premier League match against Heart of Midlothian is the latest in a string of unsavoury incidents
that have been directed at the former Northern Ireland international player. Surely now is the time
for such ugly personal attacks on Lennon to stop.

Rangers and the various flare-ups that occurred at regular intervals during the
match between the two sets of players (and coaches), my overriding feeling was 'meh.
We're starting a new feature on the Free Beer Movement site to expand our coverage of American
