ESPN Announced on Thursday morning that Circle Pines, Minn., resident Jenna Roering has been named
to the 22 women Gatorade State Fall Girls Soccer Players of the Year Team. The Centennial junior
forward scored 34 goals and passed for 12 assists this past season, leading the Cougars (18-2-2) to
the Class AA state semifinals.

Superintendent Ron Lankford said the R-7 Board of Education voted June 10 not to add girls
soccer and golf programs this fall based on his recommendation.
FC Milwaukee was rated as the country's 19th-best club for girls soccer in 2011, according to
Soccer America's annual rankings.
This is the ninth year the magazine has compiled rankings, with the number of clubs rated
varying from year to year. The only other time FC Milwaukee – or any Wisconsin club – has made
the list was in 2009, when the Nationals ranked 36th out of 40.

On Saturday I had the honor and pleasure of interviewing Ralph Perez from the University of

Did you get the feeling there weren't many goals scored during last weekend's WIAA state girls
soccer tournament?
You weren't imaging things. It's quite possible this year was the lowest-scoring tournament in
the event's 29-year history.

and U-20 Women's National Teams, was today named the Gatorade National Girls' Soccer Player of the

Congratulations to Coach Mike Howard of the Rolla Bulldogs on reaching 600 wins in his career
Thursday. He came into the game with an 14-6 record this season, his sixteenth season as the only
Coach the Rolla Lady Bulldogs have had. Mike earned his 500th victory on March 22nd, 2008 when the
Tigers defeated Hickman as part of the Central Bank Classic that opens the Girls season.
For the third year in a row, the Gatorade Wisconsin player of the year for girls soccer is from
the Madison area.
Madison La Follette senior forward Morgan LaPlant claimed the prestigious
honor, following in the footsteps of Waunakee's Taylor Madigan (2009) and Verona's
