A day after topping one second-division side from the Netherlands, the MLS Generation adidas team dropped a result to another one, falling to Almere City FC, 2-0.

The loss wrapped up the side's 10-day tour of the country, in which it also lost to a team of Ajax Reserves and defeated FC Volendam.

A U.S. Men's National Team comprised mostly of players born in 1993 tied Azerbaijan in a scrimmage on Friday in Duisburg, Germany. U-20 Men's National Team head coach Tab Ramos led the team, which featured eight players in the starting lineup who were age eligible for the 2013 U-20 FIFA World Cup cycle.

This morning began like any other for me. I started the ol' desktop, fired up the web browser and began to troll my usual soccer news sources with a cup of Joe in hand.
The first story that caught my eye was one out of England, which doesn't typically do it for me but this one had "U.

Teal Bunbury will join Sporting KC goalkeeper, Jon Kempin in Germany this week for the US U23 camp. As teams have been eliminated from the MLS Cup playoffs, new U23 coach, Caleb Porter has been calling in players from those teams for the camp as well. Porter is Bunbury's old college coach at Akron.

Real Salt Lake's Luis Gil and Sporting Kansas City's Teal Bunbury saw their MLS seasons ended on Sunday as their teams suffered conference final defeats, but neither will have much time to sulk after being called into the U.S. Under-23 national team camp in Germany.

Gil and Bunbury bring the total number of players in the camp to 37 players.

After naming the initial 31-man squad last week, Caleb Porter added a few more names to the list of players who will take part in the U-23 Men's National Team's first training camp. The training camp gets underway this week in Duisburg, Germany.

So Samir Nasri has officially left Arsenal, much to the chagrin of his teammates (Frimpong, anyone?!) and fans. The signs were there, obviously, even if it initially pointed towards the other Manchester team. But if you were a footballer at your prime 23, 24 years old you'd want to win as many trophies as possible too.

Spanish league players remain on strike after league officials and the players' union failed to reach an agreement to end the current work stoppage.

The two sides emerged from Monday's meeting without an agreement, which threatens to delay the second round of games this weekend.

While Levante president Francisco Javier Catala said "something positive came from today's meeting," his players' union counterpart Luis Gil did not sound so optimistic.

Episode V of Spurs Wars sees Spurs fight back from 3-1 and 4-2 down against our local rivals at their gaff, in what was Harry Redknapp's first North London Derby in October 2008. What a welcome! The game was memorable for an outstanding David Bentley goal, plus a quality Jermaine Jenas goal, yes I know, in the same game, who would have believed it!

Don't ask me why, but, for some reason, there's simply been no news regarding the Timbers this week so far. There are rumors that a player signing is coming by Wednesday, but I can't independently confirm if that's true or not. There have been hints we could see him at the BBQ tonight but I wouldn't place a bet on that if I were you.

Another week down and things haven't change all that much in the Power Rankings. LA, Seattle, Dallas and RSL continue to lead the pack while teams from the Eastern Conference continue to battle over who will try and crack that top four.

But don't look now, Colorado is making some noise again here.

Each manager came into the match fearing his team was worn-out. Salt Lake was playing their third match in 8 days and had suffered a loss on Wednesday night in Kansas City. New York traveled to London and played games on Saturday and Sunday before making the trek back across the pond to Salt Lake City.

Having squashed our oldest rivals in the semi-final of the Carling Cup 6-2 on aggregate including the eternally memorable 5-1 at The Lane, The Mighty Spurs marched on Wembley. In our way stood the nouveau rich-ski opposition from West London.

The U.S. U-18 men's national team began its title defense of the Milk Cup in winning fashion, beating Israel 2-0 on Monday.

Second-half goals from Omar Salgado and Jerome Kiesewetter proved to be the difference in the tournament opener. Salgado scored shortly after halftime while Kiesewetter netted an insurance goal off a low cross from substitute Luis Gil in the waning moments of the match.

Episode II left off at Wembley and now Episode III is all about the right to go back to Wembley. From Paul Gascoigne's heroics in 1991, fast forward to January 2008 and the fight between good and evil is being waged on home turf.
