Geylang upset Bangkok Glass to ensure the Cup remains in Singapore.
So what if Bangkok Glass were the dominating side in terms of attacking and having most of the
possession throughout the game?
So what if Geylang were the side being under siege and not getting enough balls behind the Thais'
defence?

It's not easy to take action photos, and I just realized that few hours ago.
Armed with my newly-purchased "Fuji S2000", I decided to try it out (not without having some
"interactions" with one of the "jaga", again!)
While I was snapping this shot of Geylang's players warming up from this position, I was advised by
one of the "jaga", "Sir, you are not allow to take picture from here as you can only do so from
behind the goal-line.

Was late for the game anyway but it was a good turn-out for this charity match organized by former
Singapore international Rafi Ali, as thousands of fans turned out at the Tampines Stadium to catch
stars of the yesteryears to parade their skills in aid for the four-year old cancer patient
Charmaine Lim.

Cup games are always something different as it's a no-hold barred contest between the two team that
whoever lose - OUT YOU GO!! simple as that.
The match between Geylang United and Brunei DPMM was my first League Cup match having just returned
from my Down Under trip.
This was deemed "NO-GOAL"
Was late for the game as it was last minute decision to be at the ground for this match, so I
missed the first goal of the night.

SAFFC were knocked out of the Singapore Cup tournament by resurrected Geylang United at the Bedok
Stadium.
Picture tells a thousand words - take note of SAFFC's players' (in darker outfit) reaction after
the game.
"They (Geylang) took their chances and we didn't." said grim-faced Richard Bok after his fatigued
SAFFC were knocked out of the Singapore Cup by Geylang United.

Live televised football is making its return to heartlands on the Labour Day (1st May 2009), when
Geylang United will play hosts to defending Singapore Cup holders SAFFC at the Bedok Stadium.
The Eagles are enjoying some good run of form lately since Mike Wong took over as the head coach of
the Bedok-based team, whereas the SAFFC Warriors aren't having that kind of luxury after that away
defeat to DPMM that knocked them off from the top of the table days ago at Brunei.

Just back from the Choa Chu Kang Stadium after witnessed the 2-0 victory by the defending champions
SAFFC over Geylang United.
Now, straight to the point.
In their pre-season seminar, Patrick Ang, the Geylang chairman proclaimed it's "time to get
back to the elite group".
Having seen their performance against the supposedly-fatigued Warriors, who been playing a game
every three days since the start of the season, I can't help but wonder if Geylang are moving into
the groove in bid to achieve their target?

(Picture on the left: with the league trophy, it's very pretty heavy, precaution required if you
ever got a chance to lift it!! Many thanks to Mr Samuel Panthradil for making this picture possible
in Oct 2005)
Although the ultimate target is the league championship, it's equally important as well to be the
early pace-setters too.

I was late for the game anyway when the game, officiated by Abdul Malik Bashir who was recently
praised by the AFC President Mohamed Bin Hamman, was delayed for 20 minutes or so due to the
downpour.
It was a goal-less draw at the end of first half and when the second half resumed I decided to
position myself at the back-of-the-net of Balestier's goal and saw the "soft" goal scored
by Geylang's skipper Noor Ali.
