of £8m for the former Spanish Under-21 international.
José Callejón scored the winner with six minutes remaining as Real Madrid came back from a
goal down to beat Mallorca 2-1 and extend their Liga lead to eight points.
Tomer Hemed's first-half header threatened to send José Mourinho's side to only their second
defeat in 24 matches in all competitions until Gonzalo Higuaín equalised with a shot which was
helped over goalkeeper Dudu Aouate by the sliding Fernando Tissone.

With La Liga having resumed, Jose Mourinho finds himself in a familiar situation. After all, in
some ways, he has been here before; back against the wall, protecting a lead, against the same
opposition as well, but in a much different context.

Football resumed in Spain after the short winter break, and it did not take long for the first
upset of 2012 to occur, as a late equalizer from Espanyol in the Barcelona derby dented Barca's
title hopes.
Real Madrid started off 2012 like they ended 2011, scoring goals. This week Madrid beat Granada
5-1 with Karim Benzema scoring twice and Cristiano Ronaldo hitting his 21st league goal of the

Don't sweat yet another defeat in the biggest game on Earth, Mr. Mourinho. We've got ten ideas for
how to win the return leg that will appeal to your evil genius side.1. Get Carvalho back and once
again play Pepe as a rearmost midfield destroyer, hoping his physicality can throw off the Barca
rhythm just as Real's pressing did in the opening minutes.

So finally we've gotten this game out of the way. After Madrid's Burger King Boys (Getafe) knocked
the wind off the sails of Barcelona, opening up a SIX (6!) point lead between us and them, the
trolling from Cule trash talkers seems to have gone on overdrive (check out the last few posts at
RMFB) – pushing the pre-clasico fever a couple of days too early.

Real Madrid recorded a fine 4-1 win over neighbours Atletico Madrid as they continue their La Liga

After beating Milan 3-2 at the San Siro on Wednesday, i certainly was not expecting Defending
European and Spanish League champions Barcelona to lose to Getafe.
If anything, i expected them to reduce the points margin on leaders Real Madrid who were
themselves facing a tough opponent in Atletico Madrid at the Bernabeu.

With almost a fourth of the La Liga season gone, Barcelona and Real Madrid are both off to solid
starts, but heading into this week's round of midweek fixtures, neither title favorite was at the
top of the table.
Of course, that likely won't be the case for long, and you'd have to expect those two to once
again occupy the top two spots come the end of the season, but to see unheralded Levante top the
table has to be the story of the first two months of the season.
After a few very exciting weekends of football, this one seems a little mundane. There are no
matches between WCR Top 25 Clubs. Once again, the highlight is a matchup between English powers,
but let's face it – these days Chelsea/Arsenal pales in comparison to United/City. Still, it is
an important London derby and should be fun for supporters of both clubs.
If you watch the following video and you don't know anything about Messi, you would never thought

As someone who's retained patience with the current regime at the club, that's a question I've
been asked plenty of times over the past couple of months about whether it's time for our manager
to be shown the door. I'm sure I'm far from being the only one.
Former Arsenal and Real Madrid striker Julio Baptista showed he still has star quality with this
superb injury-time bi-cycle kick which gave Malaga a dramatic 3-2 win over Getafe
at the week-end. This one is right up there with Rooney and Derdiyok's goals.

Former Danish international becomes the latest victim of a relatively recent trend of assistant

The former Arsenal midfielder thus follows Rovers' chief scout, chairman, finance director and

Real Betis perfect start in La Liga was brought to an end tonight after going down to a narrow

Diego Castro's 31st-minute goal decided the match in Getafe's favour at the Coliseum Alfonso
