Germany have finally gotten around to launching their new change strip for Euro 2012 and, as we stated when it was originally leaked ages and ages ago, it's a work of true retro kunst harking back to their beautiful green strip from 1972 and marking the 40th anniversary of their first European Championship win.

Of all the football careers you could dream of having as a kid, they don't come much more complete than Gerd Muller's.

He won the World Cup and European Championships with Germany scoring in the final of both tournaments - as well as lifting the European Cup on three consecutive occasions with Bayern Munich.

The haters of Miami as a soccer town were out in full force last week as it was announced that fewer than 6800 tickets had been sold for the USA vs Honduras game to be played at Sun Life Stadium. The game hadn't even been played yet and already they were bashing.
In the end over 21,000 showed up on a wet night to watch the United states defeat Honduras 1-0 thanks to a wonderful goal by Clint Dempsey.

The U.S. team has been based in Ft. Lauderdale this week and has had a chance to catch up on the latest incarnation of the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers. Coached by former Fire assistant Daryl Shore, the Strikers are currently in the semifinals of the NASL playoffs.
That got us thinking about the good ole' days, and we reached to former U-20 head coach Thomas Rongen, who played here from 1981-83 alongside former legends like Gerd Muller, the German international who scored the second most goals in World Cup history, and Peruvian star Teofilo Cubillas.

The art of being a striker is, of course, largely about scoring goals or at least, setting them up for someone else.

However, that is achieved in many different ways. Some strikers are battering rams, some are more creative types but Javier Hernandez must currently rank as one of the best when it comes to spacial awareness and movement

It's rare that a player can entertain as much off the ball as on it but if you watch the little Mexican when a team-mate is in possession it is quite a remarkable sight and massively entertaining.
